Vanessa is from the King Of Fighters series, which has a convoluted plot to say the least. Long story short for Vanessa: She was a normal girl who grew up and married, which was also quite normal, until her husband disappeared and then was reported to be dead. This was abnormal, but it also tore Vanessa up inside. She studied boxing, which her husband practiced, to have something to put her rage into. Somehow this got her involved with mercenaries and finding out about a group called NESTs and MAN it's confusing.

She is a widow now, and completely disinterested in sex or dating with anybody. She likes to fight, drink, save money, and use catalogs for shopping. She rooms with K' and Maxima on Purgatory, and makes money now by babysitting Youji and Natsuo for Yuna.

She's considering setting up a gym.
