Ryo is a half japanese light haired ( black eyed ) police officer in NY's 27th Precinct who lost both of his parents at the age of 18. Ryo was pretty new over at the 27th, and as such he was parented with a moreso vetern cop when he first arrived. Unlike his partner Dee, Ryo is a pretty reserved and mature indivdual. He's the one who gets stuck filing the paper work at the end of cases and following up on leads ( the right way ). He's pretty through when it comes to investigating, always thinking through things logically and making sure the facts are straight. He's also a bit too trusting, perhaps more than he should be. He's the quintessential "good cop" in their duo.

Ryo also has to be constantly onguard because his partner has taken a rather deep liking for him. Ryo is unsure of what he wants, though it seems to be more than obvious that he doesn't mind Dee's affection once they start. Dee also always calls him by his japanese name, instead of his real name which others tend to adopt as well, requiring Ryo to oepn up just a bit more. Ryo is just a tad suggestible, and when given advice he'll mull and ponder over it - especially when its about himself and what he wants. He tends to get downright depressive sometimes.

Ryo has a fondness for small children, especially those in need. It lead him to adopt the son of a man involved in a drug scheme when Ryo was first put on the force. Bikky much like Dee has a great habit of causing Ryo much fustration, they tend to be the only two people he knows who can get under his skin with their confusing behavior and constant bickering. They also have a habit of breaking his shy and quiet demeanor ... when they get him angry, its best to just watch out.

All in all, Ryo is your typical nice guy, a tad naive but that's why Dee's around, after all.
