Pikachu was born... well, as a pikachu. It was roaming around in the wild when suddenly BAM! this old guy came along and threw a baseball-sized sphere at it. Being that it was a critter capable of becoming pocket-sized, pikachu found itself trapped in a pokeball. This likely explains why it was so damn pissed upon being released by some kid with a hairgel fixation named Ash (or Satoshi, depending on which version you're watching). Pikachu proved to have a nasty attitude problem, but was able to overcome many obstacles through the Power of Friendship. Blah blah, Indigo League, blah blah Johto League, blah blah a couple other leagues that are about equally as (un)important. In short, pikachu became Best Friends with its trainer Ash/Satoshi, and used its insane lightning skillz to zap various other pokemon and win Ash/Satoshi a lot of shiny shiny badges.
In Purgatory
Pikachu was the first character from the pokemon series to appear in Purgatory. In the canonwars universe, she (yes, she) is an androgynous young woman with a terrible temper, a tendancy to swear, and a serious attitude problem. She is generally found either playing video games against Gaz and Pietro, insulting anyone who comes within a three-foot radius of her, or electrocuting the known world. Her partner in crime is Strong Bad, and they've been known to rob the occasional establishment in Purgatory. She lives by herself in an apartment next door to a power plant, and alternates working at the local animal shelter and the local pet store.
She also thinks humans are idiots.
