[17:28] >Ambiance<: It happens, when it happens, somewhat oddly. Somewhat like a dream. A low lying mist that arrised from nowhere and covers each of the sojurners in a deep sleep. The sleep is beyond resisting and dreamless. A silent darkness that streteches for seeming eternities. When the sleep passes however the travellers awaken in a far different place then when they went to sleep.
[17:33] Falerin: There is a low hanging smog over everything and a smell something like burning garbage hanging on the evening air.
[17:33] Falerin: <Epic Resumes>
[17:34] * Fenix sniffs the air, "What's that smell...? Where are we?"
[17:34] * Jeice begins to awaken, a bit groggy.
[17:34] * Kazuma looks at all of the people.
[17:34] * maieo coughs and wakes up. "What the-"
[17:34] * Brink smells the air as well... "I do agree that this odor is odd"
[17:34] Jeice: This isn't the abode... *looks around*
[17:34] * Lkeas grabs at her head bewilderedly, a dull headache from inhaling the vapors pervading her forehead.
[17:34] * Ness looks around
[17:34] * LordBarrius sits up slowly and glances around, quickly covering his nose upon catching a whiff of the smell around him.
[17:35] Lkeas: Where... are we now?
[17:35] * Deathbringer gets up and removes the hood from his face. He tosses his brown hair from his face, "Fenix, your guess is as good as mine."
[17:35] *** alteran has joined #epic.
[17:35] * Dale yawns, and awakens with a start at the foul smell. "Ugh... What in the hell is that?"
[17:35] Kazuma: indeed it is not Mr?
[17:35] *** Mode change "-v Legault" for channel #epic by Falerin.
[17:35] * Fenix looks around, "Oh, it's all you..."
[17:35] Jeice: Ugh, what's that smell?
[17:35] * Ness walks over to Fenix and grins at him "This is the kind of thing you get used to"
[17:35] * limewirelord coughs from the thick smog
[17:35] * Fenix turns to Ness, "Oh, Ness. How are you doing?"
[17:36] Dale: Ugh... Where are we?
[17:36] * Lkeas sits up slowly and turns to take in her surroundings.
[17:36] * maieo rubs her hand over her face. "This is a dream, right? Can't I just go back to sleep?" *
[17:36] * Ness shrugs "Not bad. Excited. This is the kind of thing that happens before something important happens"
[17:36] limewirelord: Why is something burning?
[17:36] Fenix: So, this smog is special?
[17:36] * limewirelord tries to fan away the fog with his hands
[17:36] * maieo looks over at Lkeas. "What's going on, do you know?" *
[17:36] >Ambiance<: The environment is an urban wasteland. Many closed down burned out and abandoned buildings. Graffiti scarred. Broken windows. Closed metal gates closing what few buildings remain intact.
[17:36] * LordBarrius pushes himself to a standing position, still holding his nose. "Can't say I care for the smell...."
[17:37] * Brink turns his attention from the scent to his surroubdings... "This place... i've never been here... hmmm..." he then starts to look around
[17:37] Kazuma: that is what I want to know. what is burning and why.
[17:37] * Fenix examines the surroundings, "Where are we...?"
[17:37] * Lkeas shakes her head at maieo. "We've jumped somewhere, but it's not any place I recognize.."
[17:37] * Dale looks around. "It looks like a bad part of New York City..."
[17:37] * Ness looks around "Trash fire. Homeless people burn trash to stay warm."
[17:37] * Iago sniffs at the air... "wow... that's really pretty bad"
[17:37] * Lkeas gets up to her feet.
[17:37] Jeice: This place doesn't look very pleasant.
[17:37] * maieo shrugs. "Well, then I'm totally lost." *
[17:38] * Deathbringer shakes his head, "No it doesn't."
[17:38] Lkeas: Now what purpose might this leap serve...
[17:38] * Ness looks around "New York City. Heart, soul, and cesspool of Terra."
[17:38] Lkeas: Is it New York?
[17:38] * Dale lies on the ground. "Eh. This is about the time that someone shows up to help guide us."
[17:38] Jeice: Ness, are you sure?
[17:38] Ness: Looks like it
[17:38] * Lkeas looks at the buildings for any identifying signs.
[17:39] Fenix: Terra...?
[17:39] Ness: It's what I would guess.
[17:39] Fenix: New York City? Is that a place on Terra?
[17:39] * Brink turns to Lkeas... "I dare say Ness is most likely correct"
[17:39] >Ambiance<: In the distance larger buildings can be seen which seem much more intact. Some are very much like skyscrapers. The buildings closer though are clearly a wasteland. None of them are larger then 2 stories. There is a very distant sound of traffic but few vehicles of any sort dot this landscape.
[17:39] *** Takun has joined #epic.
[17:39] Ness: I only visited a couple times in my time on Terra and it looks like it.
[17:39] * maieo stays close to the ground, just in case of flying objects *
[17:39] Kazuma: sure is. Welcome to Terra.

[17:40] * limewirelord follows everyone silently
[17:40] * Iago looks around... "things look pretty bleak..."
[17:40] * Deathbringer mumbles, "Must be the Bronx or Harlem..."
[17:40] * Brink stays close to the group
[17:40] * Fenix walks behind Ness, a mix between curiosity and fear about him
[17:41] * Lkeas points towards the larger buildings and to where she thinks the distant sounds are coming from. "Should we head over?"
[17:41] * Dale shrugs, and remains on the ground.
[17:41] Iago: is it safe?
[17:41] Jeice: I'm not sure staying here is any safer.
[17:41] *** Legault is now known as TofuBot.
[17:41] Fenix: You're the leader, Miss Lkeas.
[17:41] Lkeas: I don't know...
[17:41] Kazuma: only if I get to tag along and learn all of your names will I come along.
[17:41] * maieo stays close to Lkeas, because she's smart like that.
[17:42] * Lkeas turns her face into the wind. "It's coming from the west... "
[17:42] * Iago stays with the group
[17:42] * Brink turns to a bit to a pile of trash that was burning... he covers his sensitive nose as he smells the horrible stakch up close"
[17:42] * LordBarrius shrugs slightly, removing the hood on his cloak and stays close to the others, if only a bit behind.
[17:42] * Ness simply stays with the group
[17:42] Lkeas: And the skyline, it's unfamiliar; I don't know where we are but it's not New York.. although I do catch a faint scent of seawater on the wind..
[17:43] * Deathbringer joins up with the group, his eyes darting left and right.
[17:43] * Fenix lifts his hood over his head, making sure that the collar covers his nose, and pulls the drawstring, keeping it from faling
[17:43] * Brink catches up with Lkeas "I do believe that this is the bleakist of places i have seen on Terra other than the war torn cities of what was an organized Iraqi civilization"
[17:43] * Lkeas shrugs at Brink. "I don't even know if we're on Terra."
[17:44] * Brink nods "This may be a similar realm like Terra gowever... it has it's characteristics"
[17:44] Brink: *However
[17:44] * Iago catches up to the rest of the group... "what would have caused this?"
[17:44] Ness: Well, we need to figure out why we're here and how.
[17:44] * Dale nods, "He may be right, for once."
[17:44] * Lkeas looks at the others. "Well, are we gonna stand around in this wasteland, or try to get some info?"
[17:44] Ness: Did Falerin bring us here?
[17:44] Kazuma: if this isn't Terra. I'm going to tag along.
[17:44] * Dale sighs. "But it's so comfy, Lkeas. Do I have to get up?"
[17:44] * Deathbringer shrugs, "Up to you, Lkeas."
[17:45] Ness: I'd like to say yes, but he doesn't usually just yank us places.
[17:45] maieo: Occasionally.
[17:45] * Brink turns to Lkeas yet again "I suppose as truth seekers the info would be our choice"
[17:45] >Ambiance<: In the distance a tall muscle bound figure carrying a very large firearm steps out of a building. His skin has an ruddy coloration and two crooked horns twist from his head. He is followed by an equally tall but much thinner figure with delicate features and very thinly tapered pointed ears. A curling wire runs from this figures right temple to some sort of bag at his waist.
[17:45] * LordBarrius shakes his head. "No, I don't think this was Falerin's doing, Ness."
[17:45] Lkeas: It's just the nature of the Omninauts, Ness... we just have to hope all our travelling serves some purpose.
[17:45] * maieo hides behind everyone
[17:46] MuscleHead: "Seems like a bloody setup to me... stinks to high heaven of the Arcology's buisness..."
[17:46] * Ness looks at the figures "I stand thoroughly corrected. This is NOT Terra."
[17:46] * Fenix looks over at the man, backing away slightly
[17:46] * Lkeas continues looking toward the taller buildings and spots the two figures.
[17:46] * Kazuma agrees, this is indeed not Terra.
[17:46] WireHead: "It could be chum... but their NuYen are good....."
[17:46] * Jeice isn't sure he should call the figures' attention or not...
[17:47] * Dale looks up at the figures. "Yawn. We've seen worse."
[17:47] * Iago looks to Lkeas... "should we... try to meet them?"
[17:47] MuscleHead: "Good only if we do not wind up dead in the process..... a credstick does not do a bit of good to ghoul chow..... you know a rigger....."
[17:47] * Kazuma wispers, "I'd follow behind them and get some more info about them first."
[17:47] * Lkeas grins lopsidedly at Dale. "We don't necessarily have to fear everyone we come across right off the bat.."
[17:47] * Brink takes a steady stance but keeps walking not allowing and danger to occure or at least he hopes so"
[17:47] * Fenix grabs his dagger from his cloak, keeping it concealed in his sleve
[17:47] * Dale shrugs, "But we do anyways."
[17:48] * Deathbringer tenses.
[17:48] WireHead: "As it happens I do..... one of yours.... name of ray..."
[17:48] MuscleHead: "One of mine? Whats that crack supposed to mean smeghead?"
[17:48] * Iago looks at the firearm then at Lkeas... "you sure on that one?"
[17:48] * maieo taps Ness on the shoulder. "What's going on?"
[17:48] * Jeice decides to step forward. "Excuse me, seem to be a bit lost. Can you help us?"
[17:48] * Fenix looks at Jeice, and whispers to Ness, "Who's he?"
[17:49] * Brink slides a two daggers out of his pocket and walks cautiously
[17:49] * Ness looks at maieo "No idea. Just stick with the group and you'll be fine>"
[17:49] * LordBarrius steps forward with a hint of caution, watching the figures worriedly.
[17:49] WireHead: "Oh come off it ... whats this then Lost.... In Redmond Barrens.... trying to end up in a Doc Wagon or worse....."
[17:49] * Ness looks at Fenix "That's Jeice. You can trust him."
[17:49] MuscleHead: "He's a Troll.... you mean...? Who are these chums then... any you know... they all look human...."
[17:50] * Brink looks at th two figures and keeps his daggers at the ready while still concealing them
[17:50] Fenix: Thought so...
[17:50] WireHead: "None I know..... Not a one of them....."
[17:50] WireHead: "This one says they are Lost"
[17:50] *** Deathbringer has signed off IRC (NickServ (GHOST command used by DB)).
[17:50] * Brink turns two the Muscular Figure... "I am wolven thank you..."
[17:50] * Dale shrugs at the Muscle Headed figure. "Most of us are human. We've a few Lycanthropes among us, however."
[17:50] *** Deathbringer has joined #epic.
[17:50] Fenix: I'm a voidwalker, sir.
[17:51] * Ness speaks up "And a couple Voidwalkers"
[17:51] * Iago steps behind Jeice and tries look as human as possible
[17:51] * Kazuma smiles showing long fangs, "and a vampire"
[17:51] Ness: Don't forget the Phoenix
[17:51] * Dale yawns, "Yeah yeah, I can't remember all of your races."
[17:51] * Musclehead levels a weapon
[17:51] * Brink turns back and forth between the two figures and keeps his hands on his daggers
[17:51] * Jeice looks at the others. Does race really matter?
[17:51] Jeice: ""*
[17:51] * Lkeas rubs the back of her neck. "I, er... don't suppose you could tell us where we are?"
[17:52] * Jeice looks at the weapon.
[17:52] * Ness looks at the musclehead "You planning on using that?"
[17:52] * Musclehead I told you..... didn't I tell you....
[17:52] * Iago starts to sweat a little
[17:52] * Lkeas attempts to keep a calm demeanor as she watches the Musclehead.
[17:52] WireHead: "You did"
[17:52] * Fenix looks at the Musclehead
[17:52] Jeice: Um, is there a problem sir?
[17:52] Ness: Fire that thing once and I promise, you'll be dead before you can fire it again.
[17:52] * Brink tilts his ears downword and then at the figures...
[17:52] * Dale sighs, "So quick to threats, Ness."
[17:52] * Lkeas shoots a warning glance at Ness. "Must you jump to threats all the tiem?"
[17:52] Ness: He threatened first.
[17:52] WireHead: "Confident.... they must not know whom we are...."
[17:52] Dale: No, he didn't.
[17:52] * Kazuma backs into the group hiding his fangs.
[17:52] Ness: Did so.
[17:53] * Fenix looks at Ness with regret
[17:53] Jeice: Please, forgive my companion.
[17:53] Jeice: He can be a little hot headed.
[17:53] Dale: He presented a weapon.
[17:53] * Lkeas turns back to the Wirehead. "Indeed. We're all a bit disoriented at the moment."
[17:53] * LordBarrius frowns slightly, shaking his head. "Keep your calm, Ness. Don't jump to conclusions."
[17:53] * Brink smiles slightly and shows one of his small canine teeth as his 8 tails wave slightly
[17:53] * Musclehead "No.... clearly not.... a bunch of runners... but what the hell do you figure. Thralled? I mean running with two infected..... and a couple of what did they say voidwalkers... what would that mean exactly.....
[17:53] WireHead: "Demons I suspect"
[17:53] Jeice: So does this mean you aren't willing to help us?
[17:54] Dale: We have one of those, actually.
[17:54] Fenix: I'm from the void.
[17:54] Lkeas: Sorry, what's a runner?
[17:54] * Brink looks at them closely "Infected?"
[17:54] Ness: Thralled? What is that, some sort of Undeath?
[17:54] Dale: Lycanthropy is considered an infection.
[17:54] * Iago whispers "lycanthropy?"
[17:55] maieo: Yeah. It is.
[17:55] * Jeice looks at Brink. "Most of the time, Lycanthrope is considered a disease."
[17:55] Musclehead: "Which Corp has them on their payroll is the real question"
[17:55] * Jeice looks at Ness. "He may mean slaves."
[17:55] * Brink looks at Iago "I am part wolf by a bloodline not from a werewolf"
[17:55] * Dale wonders if NOVA is a corparation.
[17:55] * Brink then does the same to Jeice
[17:55] Ness: We're from no Corporation.
[17:55] Musclehead: "Only a few corps are dirty enough to hire those infected by vampirism...."
[17:56] Jeice: Excuse me, we aren't from this plane.
[17:56] Kazuma: hey!
[17:56] * Lkeas shakes her head. "Please, we're not from around here, we aren't employed by any corporations. We're decidedly from out of town."
[17:56] * Ness bows "I also apologize for my rashness. I was disoriented and frightened."
[17:56] WireHead: "Ghouls being a major problem already.... Well then... not at all what I expected them to send though and not this quickly"
[17:56] * Iago seals lips over slightly pointed teeth
[17:56] * Dale finally takes the time to get up, and scopes out the figures.
[17:56] * Brink turns to muscleHead trying not to overreact with the insults he has been slinging at the group
[17:56] * Fenix lowers his hood, showing his face, his eyes a slight pink
[17:56] * Kazuma never decided to be a vampire.
[17:57] * LordBarrius frowns more deeply, starting to think it might have been wiser to them to keep quiet.
[17:57] * maieo sighs, knowing there's nothing she can do. *
[17:57] Jeice: Sir, we are lost off-worlders. We could use some information. We know nothing of this place.
[17:57] Musclehead: "You still have the White Phosphorous UV Sunlight Grenade.....?"
[17:57] WireHead: "That I do...."
[17:57] Dale: Please. We mean you no harm.
[17:57] * Fenix frowns, readying himself for any kind of assault
[17:57] * Dale then says in an eerie voice, "We come in peace."
[17:57] * Iago tenses
[17:58] * Brink turns too MuscleHead "I'm afraid we are completely confused"
[17:58] * Kazuma preps him self for running.
[17:58] * Lkeas 's eyes widen and take a few steps back. "Were you expecting an attack? Really this is all a big mistake! We weren't sent to intercept you! We don't even know who you are!"
[17:59] Musclehead: "We're runners ma'am. We always expect an attack...."
[17:59] Kazuma: I just poped up here. I'm not a threat.
[17:59] * Brink 's tails start to sway back and forth... "Sir... i'm afraid any thing of that sort is not of our knowledge"
[17:59] * Dale shrugs, "You're not going to hurt us, are you?"
[17:59] * Dale hides behind LordBarrius.
[17:59] Lkeas: Is that like delivery personnel?
[17:59] Jeice: Do you know what off-worlder means?
[17:59] Fenix: I won't speak for the others, but I have no intention of harm, unless it's self defense, sir...
[17:59] *** Kazuma is now known as KAzuma|BRB.
[17:59] >Ambiance<: A audible series of tones comes from the bag at the WireHead's side
[18:00] Ness: Listen, we don't know what you're "running" but perhaps we could help? As a sign of good faith
[18:00] * WireHead cocks his head sideways
[18:00] * Iago walks nonthreateningly forward... "excuse me, but... what is a runner?"
[18:00] * Brink looks at the bag quickly andglares at it
[18:00] * Ness quickly puts up his hood and turns away from the man
[18:00] maieo: A runner...oh no...
[18:00] * Lkeas 's gaze flits to the WireHead's bag, but she decides now is not the time to ask about it.
[18:00] * Fenix looks at the bag
[18:00] Musclehead: "Quackers... fell off a Doc Wagon one too many times"
[18:00] * Jeice looks at the others. "I think that is a comunication device."
[18:00] * Dale yawns, the two figures lack of information boring him.
[18:00] * LordBarrius tilts his head towards the WireHead's bag, a bit curious, but he quickly pulls his gaze away to keep both the figures in view.
[18:01] * WireHead "Maybe.... but....."
[18:01] * Ness turns back around "I'm serious. We could help you in exchange for your help."
[18:01] * WireHead "None of their faces are recorded in Ares.... If they worked for one of the Major Corps they would at least have a match unless.... I need a dataport"
[18:01] * Lkeas sighs. "We're sorry we startled you... we're really just trying to figure out where and perhaps, when, we are."
[18:01] * Brink 's tails start to flit back and forth lower to the ground than before
[18:02] * Dale looks to Ness. "You should speak only for yourself, and not volunteer us all for potentially dangerous things."
[18:02] Musclehead: "You want to jack into the Matrix in Redmond... You must have fallen off the Doc Wagon yourself...."
[18:02] Jeice: We are off-worlders. We are not from this world, planet, or plane, wichever you are more familiar with.
[18:02] Ness: Listen, just give us a small portion of whatever it is you're "running" and we'll deliver it. That will prove we don't work for a Corp.
[18:02] Fenix: I'm afraid I agree with Dale, Ness...
[18:03] * Ness shrugs
[18:03] Fenix: I'd rather not get into anything I can't handle.
[18:03] Ness: We need some kind of friend here to figure out where we are.
[18:03] *** KAzuma|BRB is now known as Kazuma.
[18:03] Ness: And in my experience, those in any sort of underground is usually a more reliable friend than those in high places.
[18:03] *** Lego3400 has signed off IRC (Interred: ).
[18:03] Dale: That may be. But, that does not mean we should volunteer for god knows what, before we actually know what we're getting ourselves into.
[18:03] * Brink turns to the two figures "We do not even know this world... it's people or anything on it... we need to know where we are"
[18:04] Musclehead: "Quackers... fell off a Doc Wagon one too many times"
[18:04] Musclehead: "Definitely insane"
[18:04] Fenix: What is a Doc Wagon, if you don't mind me asking, sir?
[18:04] * Ness steps forward "What is it you're "running"?"
[18:04] Jeice: Well then let me say this, who would employ an insane person?
[18:04] Musclehead: "Maybe we should call in Serian McCalister or one of the others"
[18:05] * Brink looks at MuscleHead "We are not insane we are from a different realm..."
[18:05] * Dale quirks up a brow. "Serian? I've heard that name before."
[18:05] * Brink turns to Lkeas "Did he say Serian?"
[18:05] * WireHead "A streetmage might help ... but McCalister is corporate... works for MegaCorp now"
[18:05] Ness: Analog, no doubt.
[18:05] Dale: He wouldn't happen to make.. Zappers, would he?"
[18:05] * Lkeas shakes her head at the seekers. "Sometimes it's best to talk less... it's not the first time someone's thought us insane."
[18:06] * WireHead "What about Jaylen. She owes us a favor."
[18:06] * Brink takes a wolf form incase they do more walking... this way he can keep up better
[18:06] * LordBarrius remains silent, observing the two figures and listening.
[18:06] Musclehead: "She is one psycho bitch... plus if she gets involved she will smell..... the NuYen
[18:07] WireHead: That may be. She is our best bet for infortmation on this sort of things though"
[18:07] * Ness clears his throat "We work for no Corp. Name a way we can prove this."
[18:07] Kazuma: without me dieing...
[18:07] * Dale glares at Ness. "You are so demanding."
[18:07] * Ness looks at Dale "That wasn't a demand."
[18:08] * Brink snarls slightly... very slightly as he tries to resist his animalistic urge
[18:08] * maieo looks at the rest of the group and sits over to the side, trying to get a glimpse of the two strangers' subconsciousnesses *
[18:08] * Lkeas sighs and turns to Ness. "Just drop it for now. Once they see we're not a threat to them they may be willing to help us."
[18:08] Dale: "Name a way we can prove this," is making a demand of someone.
[18:08] * Kazuma is scared now
[18:09] * Ness rolls his eyes at Dale "It's not a demand when you're trying to get them to give you a task to clear your name."
[18:09] * Brink stares at them "Please tell us were we are"
[18:09] * Fenix looks to Ness and Dale, "Please stop arguing with... him, Ness. I'm sure we could find some way to prove it, if we let time take its course..."
[18:10] * Dale yawns. "Whatever, Ness. You just don't like admitting you're wrong, so I'm going to drop it."
[18:10] * Kazuma decides to step up to the plate, "Is there any way for us to prove we are no form of a threat?"
[18:10] * Brink looks at the Figures afain "Please... we just want that information at the least"
[18:11] >Ambiance<: Reality bends inward suddenly. Rippling there is a flipping sensation as if the world is falling away. Falling far far away.....
[18:11] Musclehead: "She will be in downtown Seattle tho...."
[18:11] * Fenix falls to a knee, shaken by the effect
[18:11] WireHead: "True enough so lets go... lets get mov... they do not look so hot.. really .... pale...."
[18:12] * Ness looks around and falls to one knee
[18:12] * Brink turns to th feeling before dropping his head slightly
[18:12] Musclehead: "Pale.... they look frigging transparent...."
[18:12] Fenix: What's going on, Ness?
[18:12] * Brink then falls to his knees
[18:12] * Iago gets feels the blood drain from his face and is forced to sit down
[18:12] Ness: No idea...
[18:12] *** Allen has left #epic.
[18:12] * Dale doesn't bother trying to stand, and falls completely over.
[18:12] * Kazuma drops on one knee, so as not to stand out.
[18:13] * Lkeas clutches at her head and braces herself, trying to remain standing.
[18:13] * Brink falls to the ground as he takes half wolf form
[18:13] >Ambiance<: Reality bends even further and Redmond Barrens vanishes a vast darkness streches out from your current location and stretches toward a vast infinity you loose conciousness momentarily in the slip
[18:13] * maieo just quietly passes out.
[18:13] * Fenix staggers a bit, and falls over
[18:13] * Ness closes his eyes, breathing steadily so as not to vomit
[18:13] *** Useless has joined #epic.
[18:13] * Dale 's eyes close, and he slips into unconsciusness.
[18:13] * Kazuma loses all forms of consesness and falls over
[18:13] * Brink tries to stand but falls and is knocked out
[18:14] * Lkeas eventually loses the battle with consciousness and slumps over.
[18:14] * Iago sits back and closes is eyes
[18:14] >Ambiance<: When things reassert themselves you are in an equally urban enviornment but a very different one. It is crisp methodical and well designed. You yourself lay within a small but well manicured park. The signs are both in terran english and another tounge that any familiar with terra recognize as Mandarin
[18:15] * Ness looks around
[18:15] * Fenix stands up, and looks around, turning to Ness, "Any idea where we are now?"
[18:15] * Dale struggles for a moment, and finally manages to get to his feet.
[18:15] * maieo rubs her eyes. "Not again..." *
[18:15] * Iago opens eyes... "Terran China?"
