[18:19] >Ambiance<: We all make choices. Life is marked by this process. What after all is the nature of being and free will indeed if not for these very choices. By and large these choices are mundane and while the smallest pebble can create profound ripples it is generally safe to say that whether we have tea or coffee with our pie does not change the world. These small choices however are cumulative and has new worlds spin off from each major decision and
[18:21] >Ambiance<: becomes lasting the temptation to allow things to stand that we might changed based on belief that somewhere the opposite choice was made and it will be alright is a false illusion. For when foundational choices are made the tree that underlies all of these many realities is altered at its roots.
[18:21] >Ambiance<: Thereafter while there still exist many realities an enitre branch of the tree has been pruned away.
[18:22] >Ambiance<: Everafter all of the stems that grow, grow from the branch we selected for through our gradual actions. Things are altered and there is no going back...... or is there.....
[18:23] >Ambiance<: If we turn back the clock. Seek to reverse our decisions. Fix what has gone wrong. Can we make the world better. Perhaps, but the universe is fickle.
[18:24] >Ambiance<: And it is insistent. While we may be able to undo our damage, we shall have to pay a terrible price for this meddling. Generally in the form of a new choice that is equally unacceptable.
[18:25] >Ambiance<: This is our fate. Altering the past is a subject of grave risk not undertaken lightly. And for every injury we deal the universe we will pay a threefold debt. And thats only if you believe the friendly equations. Some say 7 fold. And some even say 7 times 70.
[18:26] >Ambiance<: Well then. The clock has been reset. We have made that choice. Our bed is made. Now we lay in it.
[18:27] *** Mode change "-o+v dalefanwill dalefanwill" for channel #epic by Falerin.
[18:28] * David vanishes
[18:29] >Ambiance<: The world normalizes and the sounds of early evening in manhattan intrude.
[18:31] Falerin: Time manipulation is not safe
[18:31] Falerin: There is a reason chronomancy is illegal on Caelestia
[18:31] Falerin: And apparently here too
[18:31] Falerin: David has done it anyway
[18:31] Falerin: but...
[18:32] Falerin: "We still do not have enough time..."
[18:32] * Lkeas looks at Falerin, noticeably distraught
[18:32] Jeice: I hope there won't be too much ill done to him because of us.
[18:32] Lkeas: how can we possibly make such a decision?
[18:32] * Hadin blinks a few times and settles his rebelling stomach. "Time streams never should be tampered with, but needs will force even the most cautious hand. Well then, but we've no time to tarry idly, especially if we are to pull off something miraculous. We know what we have to do, now then, shall we?"
[18:32] Falerin: "We have little choice"
[18:32] * Avarie mutters under her breath, clearly unhappy. "Oh, is *that* what happened? Good, I was starting to get tired of normal old portals."
[18:32] Falerin: "We have to make the choice"
[18:32] Falerin: "We have free will in which negative we select"
[18:33] Falerin: "But not in not selecting. Not selecting in and of itself is a choice"
[18:33] Falerin: "And in that event all of us are dead"
[18:33] Lkeas: true...
[18:33] Lkeas: well, we'd best be finding David then, and get to work
[18:33] Hsarc: Is that such a bad thing? I'd enjoy it.
[18:34] * Hadin whispers to Falerin not quite so silently. "If ye mean whether or not I'd prefer to save my hide, well, I've at least lived mine well and truly long already."
[18:34] LordBarrius: I agree.  Let's not waste any more time.
[18:34] Falerin: "For my own part however I know Caliban..... He is a close friend. He has aided hundreds or thousands. He chose to return even after he had his reward selflessly to aid others"
[18:34] * Nicholas find himself laying facedown on the ground.
[18:34] Falerin: "This Glenn Galrick...."
[18:34] * Nicholas slowly pulls himself to a stand position.
[18:34] Falerin: "I do not know...."
[18:34] Nicholas: What the heck is going on? I was playing Sonic Adventure two battle, and now I'm here?
[18:34] Falerin: "I do not know his goals"
[18:34] Falerin: "I do not know his being"
[18:34] Falerin: "... thats all I have to say ..."
[18:35] * Avarie quietly grumbles about insanity, unclear goals, and going home.
[18:35] Lkeas: i have read of his exploits... The Traveller had placed him under his protection for a reason
[18:35] Jeice: Corruption is worse than death.  His corruption might be one of the worst Falerin.  At least, it seems this way to me.
[18:35] LordBarrius: I'm afraid I don't know of him either....care to enlighten me, Lkeas?
[18:35] KingK: well none the less we know that wont change the fact that we must save him for the greater good
[18:36] Falerin: You must choose who is more important.
[18:36] Hsarc: The greater good? We were just told both choices have negative results and no choice is death.
[18:36] Falerin: Those who have aided and given their life for you already
[18:36] Falerin: Or those who you do not know who you think might help you in the future
[18:36] * Hadin coughs once, then ushers everyone to start walking regardless. With a slight sarcastic tone, he states simply, "We can talk as we walk, sirrahs and madam. As for *my* choice, Death will have his touch upon my soul soon enough regardless. When you all make your choice, keep that in mind."
[18:36] Falerin: For my own part....
[18:36] dalefanwill: That is indeed a tough choice...
[18:36] * Falerin looks at Hadin
[18:37] Falerin: For BOTH of our parts
[18:37] Falerin: It is NOT our decision to make
[18:37] Nicholas: People have died... Wha?
[18:37] Falerin: We are not either of us subjective
[18:37] Jeice: Your god certainly placed importance on Galrick earlier.  How do you feel about things Falerin.
[18:37] Falerin: Hadin lets go for a walk
[18:37] Lkeas: you have no say in your own fate?
[18:37] Falerin: No
[18:37] Falerin: We do not
[18:37] Lkeas: troubling..
[18:38] Falerin: This choice lays on those not within it
[18:38] Hadin: "I think...that may be best.  Lead on, Falerin, lead on."
[18:38] Falerin: And that is the way it should be
[18:38] Jeice: Could you tell us how you feel about it though?
[18:38] * Hsarc gesters at Falerin. "I don't like him. He trusts others too much."
[18:38] * Falerin walks away
[18:38] * Hadin follows Falerin
[18:38] * Lkeas looks at the remaining gathered
[18:38] * Falerin without looking back speaks one last line at the group "Trust has nothing to do with it"
[18:39] * LordBarrius looks at the others. "Well?  Any ideas?"
[18:39] Lkeas: i have an idea.
[18:39] * Jeice looks to Lkeas.  "Perhaps he is torn between descisions."
[18:39] * Falerin walks off into the Manhattan evening turning a corner and vanishing with Hadin into the nigh
[18:39] * dalefanwill just stands... twiddling his thumbs... lost in confusing thoughts...
[18:39] Lkeas: let's get moving. if we waste any more time, we won't be able to choose
[18:39] Nicholas: Any ideas? About what? I have no idea what's going on...
[18:39] * Avarie appears confused yet appears resigned to that state, as she follows after Hadin. "Would someone care explaining exactly what is going on? We're supposed to make a choice for two of our companions or who else?"
[18:40] Hsarc: I'm content without making a choice.
[18:40] * Lkeas pulls Avarie back to the group
[18:40] KingK: well then lets get to davids address in this world perhpas there is a phone book
[18:40] Lkeas: let Hadin and Falerin go...
[18:40] Jeice: Let's get to David's.  I want to ask him if he can use the thing twice in succesion.
[18:40] Avarie: meep
[18:40] Lkeas: we have other matters to take care of
[18:40] * Lkeas turns to the newcomers
[18:40] * LordBarrius nods. "We'd better get moving soon, time isn't on our side."
[18:40] Lkeas: we were given a task to find a man by the name of David Viara to help us escape this realm
[18:40] Lkeas: we only have one chance to earn his trust
[18:41] dalefanwill: And if we don't?
[18:41] Lkeas: i suggest that perhaps you remain silent while we try to do so...
[18:41] Nicholas: You can't tell me what to do.
[18:41] KingK: and do NOT mention his analog
[18:41] Hsarc: So who are the two people we choose between saving?
[18:41] Lkeas: he is the only one who can get us out of here
[18:41] Jeice: He said to state our purpose first of all, then state how we dislike his analog only after.
[18:41] Hsarc: I've only been here for parts of this mysterious adventure.
[18:41] * Avarie seems to perk up a little at David's name. "I wonder if he'll have hot chocolate again."
[18:42] dalefanwill: So either... we earn his trust, or are trapped here?
[18:42] Lkeas: yes
[18:42] * LordBarrius looks at Nicholas. "If we blow our chance with David, we aren't going anywhere. It is best for you to be quiet, unless you wish to remain trapped here and die."
[18:42] Lkeas: and Hadin, Falerin, Caliban, and Galrick will all die
[18:42] Jeice: Lead the way Lkeas.
[18:42] Hsarc: Where is here?
[18:42] Nicholas: I will not remain quiet, I shall say what I want to.
[18:42] Nicholas: And there's not a damn thing you can do about it.
[18:42] * LordBarrius shakes his head. "As you wish."
[18:43] Jeice: Since it was only time, he'll most likely be in the same appartment.
[18:43] * Lkeas turns to Nicholas
[18:43] Hsarc: Well, Nicholas, if we all die, we can blame you.,
[18:43] Lkeas: i have not seen you before... so i assume you have no idea of the gravity of this situation
[18:43] Hsarc: I'll thank you, but the others may be annoyed.
[18:43] Nicholas: You know my name, how?
[18:43] Nicholas: I never said it...
[18:44] * Avarie sighs heavily and mutters to no one in particular. "Why is it so difficult for some people to show a little common curtesy?"
[18:44] dalefanwill: For your own sake... you may want to stop acting up...
[18:44] * LordBarrius looks at Hsarc. "Death would be fine with me as well....but a pointless death does nothing for anyone."
[18:44] * Lkeas nods in agreement
[18:44] Lkeas: let's go.
[18:44] * Lkeas walks in the direction of David's apartment
[18:44] Nicholas: I may aswell follow...
[18:44] * LordBarrius nods and follows.
[18:44] * Nicholas follows Lkeas.
[18:44] * Avarie follows briskly after Lkeas, a small smile on her face.
[18:44] * Hsarc follows along enjoying all scenery that is not a prison wall.
[18:44] * dalefanwill follows Lkeas suit.
[18:45] * Jeice follows swiftly.
[18:45] Nicholas: Would you atleast tell me who the hell you are?
[18:45] * KingK walks on to the stoop of the apartment
[18:46] Hsarc: Not with your continued threats to blow everything.
[18:46] * Lkeas looks over her shoulder as she walks up to the door
[18:46] Lkeas: my name is Lkeas
[18:46] Jeice: We are travelers of the multiverse, attempting to set things right.
[18:46] Nicholas: It's a pleasure to meet you, Lkeas.
[18:46] Jeice: I'm Jeice.
[18:46] KingK: just call me K.
[18:46] Nicholas: My name is Nicholas, you may call me Nick.
[18:46] Lkeas: well, Nick. things are about to get interesting...
[18:47] * Lkeas knocks on the door
[18:47] KingK: pleased to met you
[18:47] KingK: now that were done with the greetings lets hope hes here
[18:47] * dalefanwill feels that the events about to transpire may change his life forever...
[18:48] Nicholas: Interesting? How so?
[18:48] * LordBarrius frowns. "Try knocking again, I suppose?"
[18:48] Jeice: He's not... expecting us.
[18:48] KingK: dont you remember though? when we met him he wasnt a t home he was at the river
[18:48] * Lkeas knits her brow slightly and knocks again
[18:49] Hsarc: I suggest using the wondow.
[18:49] Lkeas: true... but this is three days prior to that incident...
[18:49] * LordBarrius looks at Jeice. "Wait, you're right. He met us at the bridge....he wouldn't be home."
[18:49] Jeice: Three days does not mean the bridge.
[18:49] KingK: i know im glad someone heard me
[18:49] Avarie: I would not suggest breaking into the quarters of the man we are trying to befriend, Hsarc
[18:50] * LordBarrius shakes his head. "I'm sorry. I'm still not used to this time-jumping business."
[18:50] Hsarc: Well, it would work if we had a cake and said it was a suprise birthday party.
[18:50] Hsarc: He would definately like us then.
[18:50] KingK: well either way he doesnt seem to be home and his main hangout is the river Gil said so
[18:50] Jeice: Hey David, if you are here, some... friends wish to speak with you!
[18:51] Nicholas: I'm no friend of his, who he is.
[18:51] Lkeas: that's right... the waterfront
[18:51] Jeice: I guess we should check the river then.
[18:51] Lkeas: i suppose we should check
[18:51] * LordBarrius starts feeling nervous. "We'd better be quick about it. Three days isn't much time."
[18:51] * Lkeas backs away from the door and heads down the street
[18:51] * LordBarrius follows quickly.
[18:51] * Lkeas pauses, "now... which way to the bridge again?"
[18:51] * Jeice heads to the river.
[18:52] * KingK walks alongside
[18:52] Jeice: This way I think.
[18:52] * Avarie with a longing backwards glance at the door, follows quickly after.
[18:52] * Lkeas follows Jeice
[18:53] * KingK follows alongside then points to the sparkles he sees in the river
[18:54] KingK: i think thats it
[18:56] * Jeice lightly yells "Yo, David, are you out here?"
[18:56] * LordBarrius nods. "Looks like it.  Quickly now!"
[18:56] * Lkeas frowns
[18:56] Lkeas: Jeice... we probably shouldn't imply that we know his name
[18:56] Lkeas: that might raise suspicion
[18:56] Jeice: Lkeas, hinding things would be worse I imagine.  Remember what the other said.
[18:57] Lkeas: in fact, he might get suspicious just seeing a group of people coming up to him out of the blue
[18:57] Lkeas: i'm not suggesting that we hide things, but we have to be careful about what we say
[18:57] Lkeas: we're meddling with time
[18:57] LordBarrius: Right....
[18:57] Lkeas: he probably shouldn't know that he was the one who sent us here, either
[18:57] * KingK aproaches the lip of the river
[18:57] Lkeas: he might start questioning why he would do such a thing
[18:57] * LordBarrius mutters something about his newfound dislike of time travel.
[18:58] Jeice: Why shouldn't he know that?
[18:58] KingK: i dont see him yet.....
[18:58] * Lkeas sighs
[18:58] Lkeas: let's just stick to the plan, ok? start by telling him we have a friend in trouble
[18:58] Lkeas: then tell him we're not from this realm and we need his help getting back
[18:58] Jeice: I guess.  I don't like hiding things though.
[18:58] Lkeas: then, and ONLY if need be... perhaps mention the analog and also that we are no friends of his
[18:59] * Avarie lays an understanding and comforting hand on Lkeas' shoulder and gives her a small nod of encouragement.
[18:59] * Lkeas looks towards the water
[18:59] Lkeas: we first gained his attention by being in trouble ourselves...
[19:00] Avarie: He saw us fall from nowhere into the river.  I don't care to repeat the incident.
[19:00] Jeice: Actually itwas our warping from nowhere that cought his attention.
[19:00] Jeice: We can't find him.  Darn.  I suppose we can kill time while talking about the descision.
[19:00] *** Hsarc has signed off IRC (Ping timeout).
[19:01] KingK: we dont have time worth killing
[19:01] *** Nicholas has signed off IRC (Ping timeout).
[19:01] KingK: or rather times price is too high to kill
[19:01] Jeice: Personally I know who I want to save, but first I'd like to know if that machine will be able to send people two times in a row.
[19:01] Avarie: If you're correct, Jeice, and he can sense warps, perhaps he was able to detect the time distortion?
[19:02] Avarie: In which case, we never should have moved.
[19:02] *** Nicholas has joined #epic.
[19:03] * LordBarrius frowns. "We can't keep walking around the entire city and hope to find him. We need to decide now."
[19:03] Lkeas: but what were we to do? we needed the time, or Galrick would be dead already
[19:03] Jeice: I suppose I could create a disturbance, but we'd have to talk our way out of the law.
[19:03] * Lkeas frowns
[19:03] Lkeas: probably not the best idea, Jeice
[19:03] Jeice: I didn't think so.
[19:03] * Lkeas sits down on the ground dejectedly
[19:03] *** Hsarc has joined #epic.
[19:03] Lkeas: how can we possibly choose who will live and die...
[19:04] * Avarie takes a seat next to Lkeas. "Perhaps it would be best if you can explain exactly who is at state here, other than our companions."
[19:04] Lkeas: well... Galrick was really one of the reasons we started this journey in the first place..
[19:05] Jeice: Galrick is someone who worked for a universal power, a bad one.
[19:05] Lkeas: he had become a servant of The'Galin without knowing the consequences of his decision
[19:05] Jeice: He betrayed the power, and began helping us.
[19:05] Lkeas: The Traveller took him under his wing and helped him to betray the Devourer
[19:05] KingK: well......i for one know that if itll help the greater good and save more lives at the expense of mine i will gladly give my life for them
[19:06] Lkeas: he was able to channel the energy from a pocket of creation on LORE out of that realm and into Immertot
[19:06] Jeice: It is three lives to one, but still... there is soething I must know before resigning to the task.
[19:07] Lkeas: The Traveller was killed for his assistance to Galrick by the brilhado Diviara
[19:07] Falerin: ((Wandering off... shame on you.. You had to know that Hadin and Falerin would return to where they left you or to his apartment to find you"
[19:07] * Avarie 's face creases with thought, trying to digest the news and put these new puzzle pieces in place.
[19:08] Avarie: So that energy pocket...  That's why we kept being pulled to that cursed forest?  That's the energy imbalance that was mentioned?
[19:09] Lkeas: yes
[19:09] * Lkeas looks once more at the waterfront
[19:09] *** Mode change "+v Hsarc" for channel #epic by Falerin.
[19:09] Lkeas: well... i don't see him. perhaps we should head back.
[19:09] *** Mode change "+v Nicholas" for channel #epic by Falerin.
[19:09] Hsarc: He is bound to turn up at his home sooner or later.
[19:09] Jeice: I'm missing my wind magic.  Flying is so much faster.
[19:09] Hsarc: And when he does, we jump out and yell "Suprise!"
[19:10] * Avarie sighs. "Yes perhaps." She then stands and offers a friendly hand up to Lkeas.
[19:10] * Lkeas takes Avarie's hand and smiles
[19:10] * Nicholas shakes his head in confusion.
[19:10] * LordBarrius nods. "Let's try his apartment again. He has to turn up eventually."
[19:10] * Lkeas begins retracing their steps
[19:10] KingK: well i guess we should just wait at his home then?
[19:10] KingK: or perhaps near it i dont think hell like a party on his stoop
[19:11] * Jeice heads to the appartment.
[19:11] Hsarc: Everybody likes parties.
[19:11] Hsarc: Lets go.
[19:11] * Hsarc doesn't know the way and follows people there.
[19:11] * Avarie walks beside Lkeas, asking questions.
[19:11] * KingK hears him say after already walking a few feet ahead
[19:11] * LordBarrius follows, still a bit nervous about the whole thing.
[19:11] * Nicholas follows swiftly.
[19:12] * Lkeas speaks as she walks next to Avarie, "The Traveller was brought back by the deity Falerin, to keep track of Galrick in Manhattan"
[19:12] Lkeas: however both The Traveller and Galrick have gone missing... Galrick we know has been taken by an organization known as NOVA
[19:13] * Avarie mutters to Lkeas, "So do we have any idea how to actually save either Galrick or the other three?"
[19:13] * Lkeas shakes her head sadly
[19:14] Lkeas: we're kinda... winging it...
[19:14] Lkeas: i'm frightened, Avarie...
[19:14] KingK: i believe this is his block
[19:14] Hsarc: That always ends up chaotic.
[19:14] * KingK says after looking up at the street sign on the corner
[19:14] * Lkeas stops as she realizes they've reached David's street again
[19:15] Jeice: Frankly I'm ready to rush in fighting NOVA.
[19:15] * Avarie reaches out and gives Lkeas a quick hug. "I've been frightened too. But I've found out that if you stick with it, there's hot chocolate at the end." Then, smiling wickedly, she bounces up to David's apartment.
[19:15] Lkeas: we hardly know what we'd be up against..
[19:16] * Lkeas gazes after Avarie, then looks quickly up and down the street
[19:16] Lkeas: where DID Falerin and Hadin go, anyway... i hope they didn't come looking for us while we were gone...
[19:17] Jeice: Let's just go ahead and knock on the door.
[19:17] Nicholas: Falerin? Isn't that guy in a game or something?
[19:17] Jeice: Sort of.
[19:17] * LordBarrius frowns. "I just hope they think to come here.  Let's just try the door again."
[19:17] Lkeas: you could say that, Nicholas, but not this particular incarnation of him
[19:17] * Lkeas nods to LordBarrius
[19:17] * KingK walks and stops a house down from davids apartment
[19:18] Jeice: Nothing is new in this universe.
[19:18] Nicholas: This is hard to wrap my mind around, I was dragged here by some kind of magic?
[19:18] Jeice: Even games tend to have realities elsewhere.
[19:18] * Avarie knocks upon the door, a hopeful look upon her face.
[19:19] KingK: we dont have time for this
[19:19] * Lkeas looks at kingk
[19:19] * KingK walks to the apartment and bangs on the door several times then waits for a reply
[19:19] Lkeas: we don't have time to wander aimlessly either..
[19:19] Lkeas: oh great, let's make him think we're going to break into his apartment...
[19:19] * Lkeas rolls her eyes
[19:20] KingK: im sorry its just time is runnng out we dont have time to be polite at least when we havent shared greetings yet
[19:22] Lkeas: keep trying, Avarie, i'll keep an eye out for our companions..
[19:22] * Lkeas walks to the edge of the sidewalk
[19:22] KingK: ill go stabnd by the corner at the other end chances are hes at the store and if someone wants maybe we should ask his land lord but ill be back
[19:23] * Jeice walks to Lkeas.  "What do you think of splitting up?  If that machine will be able to transport two different groups I mean."
[19:23] * KingK walks down the road to wait to see a figure
[19:23] Hsarc: Right. I'll lay down and stare at the sky in case they fall out of it.
[19:23] Lkeas: if it is a possibility, we might take it
[19:23] * Hsarc proceeds to do so and yawns.
[19:23] Lkeas: but we have to decide in the case that we don't have that choice
[19:23] * Avarie knocks upon the door, in the off-chance that K's pounding hadn't roused the resident.
[19:23] * Nicholas looks at Kingk curiously. "Where did you learn to speak english?"
[19:24] * LordBarrius shakes his head. "I don't think we should risk splitting up just yet."
[19:24] Jeice: Personally, I think we should save Galrick.  He's important.
[19:24] Lkeas: important for what, i wonder?
[19:25] Jeice: Important in solving the riddles I believe.
[19:25] Jeice: And he does have certain abilities.
[19:25] * Avarie wonders down from the apartment. "How can we judge importance? I would think two avatars of gods would be pretty important too."
[19:26] * Lkeas nods
[19:26] Hsarc: Is it not possible to go back further in time and stop Galrick from being taken in by NOVA?
[19:26] Lkeas: and Hadin is a dear friend, as much as he says his life is worth giving up, i wouldn't want to lose him either..
[19:26] Jeice: Too risky.
[19:27] LordBarrius: Is it even possible?  I don't believe we have any method of time travel left....
[19:27] Nicholas: Time travel? Even I could tell you that you should accept your actions, rather then undo them.
[19:27] Jeice: David would have time travel, but I would not ask him to do it again.
[19:27] Hsarc: Technically, we are further back then when we used it, so we are supposed to get the chance a bit in the future.
[19:27] Hsarc: Correct?
[19:27] * KingK walks back up the street to the group
[19:28] KingK: i think ill ask his landlord for some help
[19:28] * KingK walks upto the front and presses the button marked "mrs.G"
[19:29] >Ambiance<: There is an AUDIBLE explosion arround the corner
[19:30] KingK: what the-
[19:30] * KingK jumps down the stoop
[19:30] * Hsarc rolls over to the sound, and gets up.
[19:30] Jeice: Well now... what was that?!
[19:30] * Lkeas looks at the others
[19:30] Lkeas: come on..
[19:30] Avarie: "Oh for..."
[19:30] * Lkeas heads to the corner, looking around warily
[19:30] KingK: should we investigate?
[19:30] KingK: i guess thats a yes
[19:30] * Nicholas follows behind Lkeas.
[19:30] * Avarie heaves a sigh and follows.
[19:30] * KingK runs to the corner curiously
[19:30] * LordBarrius dashes after the group and around the corner.
[19:31] * Hsarc slowly makes his way around the corner.
[19:31] KingK: hello?
[19:31] * Hadin slips around to the block behind the group and hobbles close. "AHEM! Ignoring an old man, are you?"
[19:31] Hsarc: I'm trying to.
[19:31] KingK: ah hadin! wheres fal?
[19:31] Lkeas: oy! Hadin, there you are
[19:31] Jeice: Hey Hadin. Need a hand?

[19:32] * Hadin waves them over to follow him. "I wouldn't worry about that...there's something you all ought to see."
[19:32] * KingK follows
[19:32] Lkeas: not worry about the explosion? what if someone's hurt?
[19:33] * Avarie gives a small shrug and hurries over to Hadin.
[19:33] KingK: it seems he thinks this is more important
[19:33] * LordBarrius nods and decides to follow.
[19:33] Hsarc: Time is of the essence, I believe.
[19:33] * Nicholas walks slowly to Hadin.
[19:33] * Lkeas walks along behind the others
[19:33] *** Jeice_ has joined #epic.
[19:33] * Hsarc follows along.
[19:33] Hadin: "Call it a gut instinct...oh, and I have something for you, Lkeas.  But, talk as we walk."
[19:33] Lkeas: alright..
[19:33] * Avarie mutters to Lkeas, "Five dollers he did it himself."
[19:34] * Lkeas smiles slightly
[19:34] * Jeremy darts out of Villa Tottoro and shifts quickly into Chrinos form
[19:34] *** Jeice has signed off IRC (NickServ (GHOST command used by Jeice_)).
[19:34] * Falerin runs down the street carrying a large sack
[19:34] *** Jeice_ is now known as Jeice.
[19:34] * Hadin gets his bearings and begins hobbling through the city, slyly following the signs towards central park. "Now then...which pocket was it. Ah, here it is."
[19:34] KingK: ah hello fal whats in the bag?
[19:35] Hsarc: This is promising.
[19:35] * Lkeas watches Jeremy, amused, "must be off on another delivery.."
[19:35] * KingK says while walking
[19:35] * Falerin runs over to Jeremy handing him the sack
[19:35] * Hadin taps KingK on the shin. "Come along now, don't you worry about anything for the moment."
[19:35] Lkeas: or not...?
[19:35] Jeremy: "Thank you Senator"
[19:35] KingK: ow,very well
[19:35] * Lkeas looks back to Hadin
[19:35] Falerin: "Just deliver it as instructed"
[19:35] * Hadin digs through several pockets and pulls out an amulet which he presses into Lkeas' hand. "This is yours."
[19:35] * Falerin turns and looks across the street pointedly
[19:35] Lkeas: is that our Falerin? or the actual senator?
[19:36] Falerin: "Hadn't the lot of you better be going?"
[19:36] * Lkeas takes the amulet from Hadin, "Why yes... it is, where did you find it?"
[19:36] * Hadin looks to Falerin with a glance and a sly wink.
[19:36] * Falerin takes out a phone<;br>[19:36] Falerin: "One apport to Washington"
[19:36] * Falerin vanishes
[19:36] Hadin: "I'm trying to keep them moving, but they're the slowpokes.
[19:36] * Nicholas looks at Lkeas curiously.
[19:36] * Lkeas blinks
[19:36] KingK: right.....
[19:36] Nicholas: Amulet?
[19:36] Lkeas: well, where to, Hadin? David's?
[19:36] * Lkeas fastens the amulet around her neck
[19:37] * Hadin hobbles quickly along the route to central park. "Nope. To the park, actually."
[19:37] * KingK walks alongside
[19:37] KingK: why?
[19:37] >Ambiance<: the distance from the bowery is substantial but you seem to make mysteriously good time.
[19:37] KingK: whats so significant about central park?
[19:37] * Lkeas follows after the Artificer, a slightly confused look on her face
[19:37] Hadin: "Found something interesting while walking, interesting enough."
[19:38] KingK: ah
[19:38] * Avarie gives Lkeas a helpless shrug as she follows.
[19:38] Hadin: "One might say important enough..."
[19:38] Lkeas: oh?
[19:38] >Ambiance<: As you get closer to the park the more evidenct that something odd is going on there. There is a crackling noise and the loud noise of a large crowd. In addition you smell ozone.....
[19:38] * Lkeas walks a little faster to keep pace with Hadin
[19:39] Hadin: "...enough so that things are centered here.  Lads, if ye don't mind, we need to make our way through that crowd."
[19:39] Lkeas: what in the world...
[19:39] * KingK hears the noise
[19:39] Hsarc: Something gone wrong due to time travel?
[19:39] KingK: are you sure this is safe?
[19:39] Hadin: "Just do as I say, if you please, KingK."
[19:39] Lkeas: well... let's get moving... if there's one thing i learned from growing up around large cities, it's how to maneuver crowds...
[19:39] * Nicholas looks at the others. "I'm confused, what the heck is going on?"
[19:40] * Hadin gestures with his cane to the thick crowd. "An old man can't force his way through a crowd easily. Now come."
[19:40] * Lkeas begins sliding around people
[19:40] Hsarc: Just follow the group, Nicholas.
[19:40] * LordBarrius nods and begins slipping through the crowd, trying not to bump into anyone.
[19:40] * Nicholas sighs. "Fine..."
[19:40] * Hadin uses his can liberally to make his way through the crowd entirely.
[19:40] >Ambiance<: a fairly large five pronged lightning bolt stands at the center of a small grassy hill off the path to the Central Park Zoo. It is bluish and color and hangs there static. It looks for all the world like the one in Manhattan, KS but it is designed to accomodate several. Not just one....
[19:40] * Avarie tries to thread her way after Lkeas, having a little more difficulty.
[19:41] * Lkeas hangs on to Avarie's hand
[19:41] * Hsarc bumps into random people and curses them as he walks past.
[19:41] * Hadin hobbles towards the distortion purposefully, continuing to gesture to the others to follow.
[19:41] * Lkeas calls to the others, "hang on to each other, don't get lost"
[19:41] * Lkeas looks forward again and gasps slightly
[19:41] Lkeas: that lightning...
[19:42] Hadin: "A distortion...now then, let's see here."  He looks about for a certain figure while gesturing the others close to him.
[19:42] * Lkeas pushes her way past a few more people to get to Hadin
[19:42] Lkeas: it looks like the same thing Matthew Johansen used to teleport..
[19:43] Hsarc: Does it look the same or is it the same?
[19:43] Hadin: "Indeed...?"  He shoots Lkeas a sly smile.  "Come along, help the others get close."
[19:44] * Lkeas scans the crowd for the others and holds a hand up to draw their attention
[19:44] * Lkeas turns to Hadin
[19:44] * LordBarrius notices Lkeas's hand and starts shoving towards it.
[19:44] Lkeas: but i thought we needed equipment, days to set it up...
[19:44] Nicholas: Get close? fine... I'm comming. *mumbles something under his breath.*
[19:44] Hadin: "Not right this instance we don't...that's an answer for the moment."
[19:45] Lkeas: but do we know where it goes? can we control it?
[19:45] * Hadin points to the distortion with his cane.
[19:45] * Lkeas has to raise her voice a little to be heard over the crowd
[19:45] Lkeas: how do we know it won't pull us further from our destination?
[19:45] Hadin: "Don't question every gift, Lkeas.  The price of this one is mine to bear and mine alone."
[19:45] * Hsarc sees the others gathering and heads that way.
[19:46] Lkeas: the price... Hadin, no...
[19:46] Hadin: "Not that price, I think."
[19:46] * Nicholas pushes a couple of people out of his way and moves closer to Lkeas.
[19:46] * Hadin continues looking for signs of a specific person...David...while the others finally begin grouping up near him.
[19:46] * Avarie looks towards the distortion worriedly. "I had hoped we were past travelling like that."
[19:47] * Lkeas spots Jeice and dives into the crowd momentarily to bring him to the rest of the group
[19:47] Hadin: "At least once more, I'm afraid."
[19:47] Hadin: "No...I take that back.  At least once more, I am confident to say."
[19:48] * Avarie mutters, "Darn things never lead where they're supposed to."
[19:48] * Lkeas smiles at Avarie
[19:48] * LordBarrius finally manages to make it up with the rest of the group.
[19:48] Lkeas: would you rather travel by laptop?
[19:48] Nicholas: Travel by laptop? Wha...?
[19:48] * LordBarrius shakes his head. "Don't EVEN joke about that...."
[19:48] * Avarie shudders.
[19:48] Avarie: "Your point is well made."
[19:49] * Hadin whispers to Lkeas. "Do you see David in this crowd, by chance?"
[19:49] Lkeas: if i recall, the last time we travelled via lightning we ended up back in Immertot
[19:49] Nicholas: A laptop is a computer... not a teleportation device....
[19:49] Hsarc: To you it is.
[19:49] * Lkeas scans the crowd
[19:49] Avarie: "That is not a comforting statement, I'll have you know, Lkeas."
[19:50] Lkeas: i'm trying to remember what he looks like...
[19:51] * Hadin whispers again. "We are to meet him for the first time anew...I am merely unsure if that is supposed to be before or after hopping through that bolt. Which we *must*."
[19:51] * Lkeas pauses her search momentarily to glance at Avarie
[19:51] Lkeas: if we return to Immertot, we might yet save our friends..
[19:51] Lkeas: how long will the bolt stay open?
[19:51] Lkeas: we may have to chance it and leap through without finding David..
[19:52] Hadin: "Not sure, best be ready to hop through at a moment's notice...but there is a predestination paradox."
[19:52] Lkeas: predestination?
[19:52] * Hadin frowns and thinks back to David's first words to him...
[19:53] Avarie: "You're right about saving our friends, Lkeas.  I'm sorry for letting fear cloud my better judgement.  I just..."
[19:53] * Avarie shudders once more.
[19:54] Hadin: "That's it...he said go through it and back in time to meet him."  He turns to the others.  "Let's go, through that, now.  We'll meet David again on the other side of the trip, but he won't know us.  I hope you remember how to go about that meeting."
[19:54] LordBarrius: Alright....if you say so.
[19:55] Lkeas: two time trips? alright... i hope you know what you're doing, Artificer...
[19:55] * Lkeas inches towards the lightning
[19:55] * LordBarrius walks up to the distortion, and after pausing a bit, steps through.
[19:55] Nicholas: Wha...? Time travel and teleportation? What in the blazes do you people do...?
[19:55] * Hadin begins to hobble into the lighting, but turns and raises an eyebrow at Lkeas. "You trust Falerin, don't you?"
[19:55] * Avarie reaches out and latches onto Lkeas' arm, then gives her a shaky smile and a nod to continue.
[19:56] Lkeas: i do... implicitly..
[19:56] * Lkeas looks back at Nicholas
[19:56] Lkeas: you want to stay here in a world full of vampires and werewolves, Nicholas?
[19:56] * Lkeas hops through the portal with Avarie
[19:56] * Nicholas sighs and walks through the portal.
[19:56] * Hadin grabs onto a piece of Lkeas' clothing. "You've been through one of these before...so why not." He hops in with them both.
[19:56] Hsarc: Well, here we go.
[19:57] * Hsarc hops in
[20:01] * Jeice enters the portal.
[20:01] >Ambiance<: as you mutter the lightning bolt beens contracting
[20:02] * Jeice vanishes
[20:02] * dalefanwill quickly hops into the portal.
[20:03] >Ambiance<: A swirling gray chamber but much unlike the other one it feels like sinking through jello
[20:03] >Ambiance<: And ultimate there is a glorpy noise and it spits you out seemingly exactly where you entered.
[20:04] >Ambiance<: There is still a crowd gathered staring at the lightning bolt in central park
[20:05] * Lkeas lands a bit awkwardly but regains her balance, hanging onto Avarie and Hadin
[20:05] * Jeice whispers to Hadin, "What just happened?"
[20:05] Lkeas: strange... are you sure that thing was functional, Artificer?
[20:05] * Avarie slowly releases her deathgrip on Lkeas' arm as she takes in the surroundings.
[20:05] * Hadin harumphs mightily and shakes off the feeling, then looks at the bolt. "Not quite exactly what I suspected, but I daresay we are much earlier than we were. Keep an eye out for David, I think."
[20:05] * LordBarrius falls out off the distortion, and glances around. "Everything's the same...."
[20:05] * Nicholas clumsily trips over his own feet.
[20:05] * Lkeas looks at the crowd
[20:06] Lkeas: yes... the people are different...
[20:06] Lkeas: something must have changed
[20:06] * dalefanwill does the same, his legs still weak from the journey through the portal.
[20:06] >Ambiance<: The lighning bolt vanishes with a clap of extrodinary thunder and the smell of Ozone
[20:06] Hsarc: Is that good or bad?
[20:06] * Avarie tries to cover her ears too late.
[20:06] Jeice: Never have cared for that smell.
[20:06] Hadin: "I'm hoping good...now, lets find David.  Remember, he won't know us."
[20:06] * Nicholas slowly pulls himself up to a stand postition.
[20:07] Lkeas: yes... we stick to the plan
[20:07] Hadin: "The original plan."
[20:07] * LordBarrius nods. "Right, got it."
[20:07] * Hadin nods, grins slightly as his eyes graze over Lkeas' new amulet, and motions for her to lead on.
[20:07] Jeice: Do you think any of the croud noticed us?
[20:07] * Lkeas counts on her fingers, "say we have a friend in need. say we're not from this realm. then mention the analog as our enemy."
[20:07] Nicholas: This just isn't my day, that's twice I've fallen down.
[20:08] Avarie: "And above all, be polite."
[20:08] * Lkeas looks up at Hadin
[20:08] Lkeas: where should we go? back to his apartment, or to the waterfront?
[20:10] Hadin: "I have absolutely no clue, only that meet him again for the first time...interpret that as you will."
[20:10] Lkeas: well... the first time we met him, we were swimming...
[20:11] Hadin: "So there first, then the apartment failing that?"
[20:11] * Lkeas shrugs
[20:11] * Avarie shrugs helplessly. "Either seems likely."
[20:11] Lkeas: it's as good a plan as any...
[20:11] Lkeas: let's try it
[20:11] * Lkeas heads in the direction of the bridge
[20:12] * LordBarrius follows, hoping Lkeas is right.
[20:12] * Avarie hurries after Lkeas.
[20:12] * Jeice follows aswel.
[20:13] * Hadin hobbles in his own manner after Lkeas.
[20:13] * Hsarc is losing himself in between thoughts of prison life, the war, and what is going on here. He follows quietly, paying enough attention to not get lost.
[20:13] * Nicholas runs after Lkeas.
[20:14] * Hadin whispers to Lkeas as they walk. "You must tell me how you know the one who created that some day."
[20:14] >Ambiance<: the weather is Much warmer and you can see David sitting at an outside table in front of the Villa
[20:14] >Ambiance<: he appears to be eating a meal and chatting with Jeremy
[20:15] >Ambiance<: who is in full wolf form
[20:15] * Lkeas turns to the others
[20:15] Lkeas: how should we approach them?
[20:15] Hadin: "Careful on what you say, lads and lasses."
[20:15] * Avarie nods understandingly.
[20:15] Lkeas: it's rather rude to interrupt a meal...
[20:15] Nicholas: I may aswell do as you suggested, I shall keep my mouth shut.
[20:16] * Hadin rubs his chin lightly. "We are in need of aid. We have knowledge of what to say...so perhaps polite insistence?"
[20:16] * Caliban howls
[20:16] * Falerin moans in pain
[20:17] * Hadin doubles over, gasping.
[20:17] * Lkeas places an arm under Hadin
[20:17] Nicholas: What the heck is going on now...?
[20:17] Lkeas: Hadin! no, i thought we went back in time...
[20:17] * LordBarrius frowns. "Time is running out...."
[20:18] * Lkeas runs over to the table where David and Jeremy are sitting
[20:18] *** Falerin has signed off IRC (Connection reset by peer).
[20:18] * Hadin slowly gets his feet back under him thanks to Lkeas aid.
[20:18] Lkeas: sirs, i'm sorry to interrupt... we have a friend of ours in need...
[20:18] * Avarie appears alarmed as she hurries to Hadin. "I don't think first aid is fit to help with the effects of time travel."
[20:19] * Hadin whispers to Avarie. "Not time travel as such...more of fate's interlinked threads."
[20:20] * Avarie looks at Hadin ruefully. "Still I don't think knowing how to splint is going to help anything."
