A King in a Temple
From Caelwiki
- [15:44] Lkeas: speaking of runes... i'm still curious as to why the Watcher forced the Cor Dem to make fake runes, and how we're supposed to decipher the real runes
- [15:45] Maxwell: The keepers of the mark will soon be shown to you
- [15:45] Maxwell: for your list is wrong
- [15:45] Lkeas: our list?
- [15:45] Daniel: The avatar list?
- [15:45] Lkeas: how is it wrong? are some of the names not truly avatar? or are some of them not truly allies as we first thought?
- [15:46] Maxwell: You have listed some that are not true Avatar.
- [15:46] Lkeas: what are they, then?
- [15:47] Maxwell: Assumptions on your part.
- [15:47] Lkeas: our part? was not the list given to us? wouldn't they be assumptions on Lies part then?
- [15:47] Daniel: The list is of those that can be trusted, and not of Avatar then?
- [15:47] Lkeas: hmm.
- [15:48] Maxwell: You are starting to see you cant trust all that is given to you.
- [15:48] Lkeas: then how are we to distinguish truth from lies?
- [15:48] Daniel: With the better half of our judgement I would suppose.
- [15:48] Maxwell: To seek the Index, is to seek the Temple. Only there will you gain the knowledge needed to begin your quest.
- [15:49] Maxwell: Only there will you learn who the true Avatar are.
- [15:49] Lkeas: is the Index within the Temple? or is the Index the Temple itself?
- [15:50] Maxwell: The Index is the control station to the Great Door.
- [15:50] Daniel: Who is the temple to?
- [15:50] Maxwell: The Index is powered by nine artifacts.
- [15:50] Lkeas: the one we use the runes to control. the true runes, not the fake ones
- [15:50] Lkeas: only 9? what of the other 3?
- [15:50] Maxwell: To use the Index is to understand the Cor-Dem runes, yes.
- [15:51] Maxwell: other 3?
- [15:51] Maxwell: What do you mean by that?
- [15:51] Rimblade: Er, it isn't powered by the Orbs, is it?
- [15:51] Lkeas: weren't we given 12 runes? 3 of which were shapes, 9 of which were not.
- [15:51] Daniel: I think he means orbs for the artifacts.
- [15:51] Lkeas: hmm.
- [15:51] Maxwell: You were given runes, they do not power the Index.
- [15:51] Daniel: The reformed orbs will power the Index.
- [15:51] Daniel: The rune totem is the key.
- [15:52] Lkeas: so the totem somehow tells us which order to use the orbs in?
- [15:52] Rimblade: 'Cause it would suck to have to try it randomly.
- [15:53] Maxwell: No, it does not
- [15:53] Lkeas: so... using the Index will help us understand the runes... but we don't use the runes to use the Index.
- [15:53] Maxwell: The Temple will explain much of the runes, for another race knows of their meaning.
- [15:54] Lkeas: another race besides the Cor-Dem?
- [15:54] Daniel: The Eban probably know them also.
- [15:54] Maxwell: They do
- [15:54] Lkeas: Diviara said he knew how to read them, too...
- [15:54] Maxwell: You see, you are in luck.
- [15:54] * Maxwell grins
- [15:54] Lkeas: luck? he's kinda dying at the moment...
- [15:55] * Daniel is curious *
- [15:55] Daniel: So we have to request information out of Diviara?
- [15:55] Lkeas: as for the Eban, have we even met one yet?
- [15:56] Maxwell: One mark, one guardian, one element, one Avatar, one orb. This is balance.
- [15:56] * Useless whimpers and shifts in his sleep at the mention of Diviara's name
- [15:56] Maxwell: Humanity has changed this, balance has become corrupt in the world of men.
- [15:57] * Daniel thinks of the steam element *
- [15:57] Maxwell: If you wish to seek the one who can help you, seek the king in the temple.
- [15:57] Maxwell: He knows much of the runes and the Avatar, for he is one.
- [15:57] * Lkeas furrows her brow
- [15:57] Lkeas: is he human?
- [15:57] Daniel: We will do our best to locate him.
- [15:58] Rimblade: I don't suppose you can give us directions?
- [15:58] Legault: Of course not, we never get straight answers here...
- [15:58] bob: is he with us at the moment?
- [15:59] Daniel: The answers seem straightforward to me.
- [15:59] Daniel: We just aren't asking the right questions probably.
- [15:59] bob: rite so who is he then damiel?
- [15:59] bob: daniel*
- [16:00] Daniel: I do not know. I am not asking the right questions either Robert.
- [16:00] Maxwell: Human is a point of view
- [16:00] bob: maxwell will this temple appear on the map
- [16:00] Lkeas: indeed.
- [16:00] Maxwell: He is more human than you, that is true.
- [16:00] Maxwell: For he has been longer than your race has.
- [16:00] * Lkeas nods. "I think I understand."
- [16:00] Rimblade: I don't think duration increases magnitude.
- [16:00] * Daniel smiles at Lkeas *
- [16:00] bob: so he is pure human then we are a mixture of other races
- [16:01] Maxwell: Do you not?
- [16:01] Daniel: Is he Vespirian?
- [16:01] Lkeas: however, he does not represent an element, does he.
- [16:01] Rimblade: No.
- [16:01] Maxwell: Many consider humans to be nothing more than savage beasts lacking in knowledge.
- [16:01] Rimblade: Do they consider us sentient?
- [16:01] Maxwell: Much like an orc.
- [16:02] bob: rite so it is someone who is smarter than us
- [16:02] Maxwell: All avatar but two do, and he is one of them that do.
- [16:02] Rimblade: Fine then- I see any being that can want and express the desire to be known as human as human. The capacity for wish makes it so.
- [16:02] Lkeas: wait, he DOES represent an element?
- [16:02] Maxwell: yes
- [16:02] Lkeas: hmm.
- [16:02] bob: which element?
- [16:03] Maxwell: That, I will not tell you.
- [16:03] Lkeas: how many avatar are there, though? 9? aren't there 8 elements? if two avatar do not represent elements, that leaves one element out.
- [16:03] Rimblade: :D
- [16:04] Maxwell: 8 Avatar, and then two more
- [16:04] bob: if we guess will you tell us
- [16:04] *** fantasygod is now known as FG|Dinner.
- [16:04] bob: is one element x
- [16:04] *** gilfood has signed off IRC (Vanished: Web IRC Disconnected).
- [16:04] Maxwell: In a sense, yes.
- [16:04] Maxwell: But no.
- [16:04] LordBarrius: No.
- [16:05] bob: so we are only looking for one element avatar
- [16:05] bob: and you will not tell us which element
- [16:06] Maxwell: You are looking for a king, in a temple.
- [16:06] Maxwell: This king, is an Avatar.
- [16:06] Daniel: Is his name Edward?
- [16:06] Rimblade: Is it Tralin?
- [16:06] bob: and the temple is controlled by the index
- [16:06] Maxwell: Names I will not give.
- [16:07] bob: adn to get to the index we need to get the nine artifacts
- [16:07] bob: and*
- [16:08] bob: is that correct?
- [16:09] Maxwell: In a sense.
- [16:10] bob: rite a simple yes or no couldnt have done
- [16:10] Maxwell: You will need much to power the Index, you will need much more to travel the passage of Hope.
- [16:11] Daniel: Does Jack Frost know the true powers of the orb?
- [16:11] Rimblade: Huh.
- [16:11] Maxwell: Of course he does.
- [16:11] Maxwell: Do you?
- [16:11] bob: rite so if we could ask him we could find out more
- [16:11] Daniel: Probably not.
- [16:11] Legault: Probably not...
- [16:12] Legault: ((Jinx. :P))
- [16:12] Rimblade: Nah.
- [16:12] bob: so does that mean we have to build up every orb
- [16:12] Daniel: Are we agents of Hope?
- [16:12] Legault: Atleast two are already formed.
- [16:12] bob: which ones?
- [16:13] Legault: The Dark Orb, I believe... And possibly the Fire one.
- [16:13] bob: where did you get this info?
- [16:13] Legault: Unless the fire one was shattered during the Fire war.
- [16:13] *** Takun is now known as Takun|Gunbound.
- [16:14] Legault: Well, didn't we already give the dark orb to that necromancer in Boog's Tavern?
- [16:14] bob: maxwell is he right have 2 orbs already been formed?
- [16:14] Legault: That's just a theory of course...
- [16:14] Maxwell: There are many orbs
- [16:15] Maxwell: there is only 8 orbs of power
- [16:15] Lkeas: the wind orb was destroyed, i think...
- [16:15] bob: how many orbs are there?
- [16:15] Lkeas: he just said 8 bob
- [16:15] Daniel: But 9 artifacts.
- [16:15] Lkeas: right.
- [16:15] Legault: Are any of the orbs of Power made?
- [16:15] bob: no he said there are only 8 orbs of power
- [16:15] bob: what are the other ones?
- [16:15] Daniel: Was the artifact Edward stole an orb?
- [16:16] Maxwell: Yes, it was.
- [16:16] bob: was it an orb of power?
- [16:16] Legault: I'm sure there are many orbs of the same element.
- [16:16] Daniel: Was it the orb corresponding with Death?
- [16:16] Lkeas: why are we asking questions we already know the answers to?
- [16:17] Rimblade: 'Cause it's fun.
- [16:17] bob: rite lkeas how many orbs are there altogether including the orbs of power?
- [16:17] *** FG|Dinner is now known as fantasygod.
- [16:18] Lkeas: the only thing we need to know about are the 8 orbs of power, bob. there are lesser orbs that you can buy and own yourself, the number of those is only limited by how many players bother to buy them
- [16:18] bob: rite maxwell so what do we need to do next in this chain of events?
- [16:19] Legault: The Ice Fragment's we have, are they part of the Ice Orb of power? Or just another Ice Orb?
- [16:19] Maxwell: The orbs are much like a philosophers stone. Many other stones have been made that claim to be the true stone, but are much less powerful.
- [16:19] bob: rite so thi ice orb we have is like the true stone
- [16:19] bob: this*
- [16:19] bob: one of many
- [16:19] Maxwell: There are eight orbs of power, and they will never die.
- [16:20] Lkeas: why is the king in a temple? is he a priest?
- [16:20] bob: but they can be broken
- [16:20] Maxwell: He is not, but he spends his days there.
- [16:21] bob: is he under any command?
- [16:21] Daniel: Is he a knight of Lorithia?
- [16:22] * Legault disappears into the shadows. "I'll be back in a bit, duty calls."
- [16:23] bob: so what do we do next.......wait?
- [16:24] bob: complete frostvale as fast as we can?
- [16:24] *** Legault has signed off IRC (Supressed: *Legault disappears beneath his cloak, leaving it behind on the ground, only for it to fade away a second later.*).
- [16:24] Maxwell: What you should do is a get a list together and try to figure it out.
- [16:24] Maxwell: It would be wise to know as much as you can when meeting the king.
- [16:25] Lkeas: a list of what?
- [16:25] bob: so he will find us then!
- [16:25] Maxwell: Good luck
