A Dangerous God of Time
From Caelwiki
- [17:45] *** Galrick has joined #darkabode.
- [17:45] Silhouette: ( Galrick yay! )
- [17:45] >Ambiance<: A loud bang heralds Galrick
- [17:46] * Lkeas swallows hard and flushes slightly as she looks towards the source of the sound and recognizes the figure. "Galrick...!"
- [17:46] Silhouette: "Galrick, son of Glenn, I presume?"
- [17:46] * Dale's eyes widen. "Is that? Can it be? It is! Galrick!"
- [17:46] Galrick: "I swear if you let even one fly through"
- [17:46] * Orpheus jumps slightly in his seat... then watches and makes no more noise
- [17:46] * Galrick looks about
- [17:46] * Legault turns to Galrick, "Last time I saw you, you were out cold."
- [17:46] Galrick: "This is not manhattan Loremaster"
- [17:46] * Dale offers Galrick a wave.
- [17:46] * Iago smiles
- [17:46] Galrick: "Loremaster?"
- [17:46] * Galrick frowns
- [17:46] Dale: He is not here...
- [17:46] Legault: ((xD Falerin ditched him.))
- [17:47] * Galrick taps his sword against the ground impatiently
- [17:47] * Silhouette bows to Galrick, "The Silhouette, at your service, Goodsir Galrick."
- [17:47] * Deathbringer nods a greeting to Galrick, a smile crossing his face.
- [17:47] Galrick: Falerin!
- [17:47] * Iago looks at Galrick, "Hello"
- [17:47] Dale: Shouting his name won't really do you much good... At best, you'll end up summoning Mariel....
- [17:47] * Mingan salutes Galrick
- [17:47] * Orpheus smiles at Galrick
- [17:48] Mariel: To summon me I would have to have left
- [17:48] Dale: ....D'oh!
- [17:48] * Galrick runs a his tounge over his fangs nervously
- [17:48] Galrick: "Hey"
- [17:48] Silhouette: "Hello."
- [17:48] * Lkeas stands, looking a bit unsure what to say. "We've missed... er... how has your vacation been?"
- [17:49] Galrick: "I was just mentioning you to someone actually"
- [17:49] Silhouette: "Really?"
- [17:49] * Dale chuckles
- [17:49] Galrick: "So far I have not really had one"
- [17:49] Dale: (( You rule, Fal. >_> ))
- [17:49] Silhouette: ( I second that. )
- [17:49] Galrick: "I am being pulled left and right all over the place"
- [17:49] Legault: Vacationing where?
- [17:49] Galrick: "I was in Manhattan for a while again that rocked"
- [17:49] Dale: I'm sorry to hear that.
- [17:49] Galrick: "But lately its been all over Lore."
- [17:49] Galrick: "
- [17:49] Legault: Oh... Well it's impossible to vacation on Lore...
- [17:50] Legault: Stuff usually tries to eat you.
- [17:50] Mingan: not much of a vacation then
- [17:50] Galrick: "I think Falerin is using it as an excuse to use me for grunt work...."
- [17:50] * Lkeas nods grimly. "We've been trying to keep up with happenings on Lore, some disturbing events of late..."
- [17:50] * Silhouette chuckles slightly, "That must be rather boring."
- [17:50] * Dale nods
- [17:50] Galrick: "Not sure why he dropped me in the Abode tho"
- [17:50] Iago: Limbo is noce this time of... gray
- [17:50] Silhouette: "What? You don't enjoy our company?"
- [17:50] Dale: Why not take advantage of this free time?
- [17:50] Galrick: "We had an appointment elsewhere but he just sort of ditched me here"
- [17:50] Deathbringer: Hm...
- [17:51] Lkeas: We're apparently awaiting an appointment as well.
- [17:51] * Lkeas gestures to the hourglass.
- [17:51] Lkeas: ((it's still there right?))
- [17:51] Silhouette: "I must say, gnats are QUITE annoying this time of year..."
- [17:51] Silhouette: ( It vanished... )
- [17:51] Deathbringer: That we are.
- [17:51] Lkeas: ((damn))
- [17:51] Dale: (( Disappeared, actually ))
- [17:51] * Galrick walks over and picks up the hourglass
- [17:51] * Galrick shakes it
- [17:51] Silhouette: ( [20:28] <>Ambiance<> The hourglass fades back to darkness )
- [17:51] Galrick: "Whats this then?"
- [17:51] Dale: AH!
- [17:51] Lkeas: ((it said it faded to black, not that it disappeared))
- [17:51] Silhouette: ( Wha? )
- [17:51] Dale: Galrick! Do be careful with thta!
- [17:51] Silhouette: "That would be an hourglass."
- [17:51] Legault: Gnats... Ugh.
- [17:52] Galrick: It's a strange hourglass...
- [17:52] * Iago chuckles at Silhouette...
- [17:52] Brink: Please do as Dale has said.
- [17:52] Galrick: Isn't the sand supposed to run through it
- [17:52] Lkeas: Er... yeah, that's normally how they operate...
- [17:52] Mingan: usually
- [17:52] Dale: It's one of Chronos' hourglass.
- [17:52] Dale: Perhaps it's special.
- [17:52] Silhouette: "Perhaps. Chronos may have altered it."
- [17:52] Galrick: "Oh"
- [17:52] Deathbringer: Normally...
- [17:52] Galrick: "Him"
- [17:52] Silhouette: "Yes, him."
- [17:52] Galrick: "I understand"
- [17:52] * Galrick smashes the hourglass forcefully against a stone
- [17:52] Silhouette: "He who was regrettably responsible for Mr. Ryst's recreation..."
- [17:53] Dale: ....
- [17:53] Legault: Erk...
- [17:53] * Silhouette grunts.
- [17:53] * Deathbringer blinks.
- [17:53] * Lkeas 's eyes widen in alarm. "What was that for?!"
- [17:53] >Ambiance<: the Hourglass breaks into 2000 peices and vanishes
- [17:53] * Mingan is surprised
- [17:53] Dale: Er... Galrick?
- [17:53] * Silhouette looks at Galrick, "Well then."
- [17:53] Iago: (( 2000 exactly... cryptic ))
- [17:53] Silhouette: ( Beats 755 )
- [17:53] Iago: (( lol ))
- [17:53] Dale: ( Beat me to it. :p )
- [17:54] Galrick: Chronos is very dangerous
- [17:54] Galrick: He is insane
- [17:54] Galrick: and not in a good way
- [17:54] Legault: ... Well. We're not dead, I guess that's something.
- [17:54] Dale: He has a message for us
- [17:54] Galrick: I would not care to hear it
- [17:54] * Lkeas frowns. "I can't see that anybody wouldn't be insane, seeing the things he does..."
- [17:54] Silhouette: "So I've seen, Galrick..."
- [17:54] Galrick: its likely a trap
- [17:55] Galrick: He is not unique Lkeas
- [17:55] Galrick: There are many time gods in different realities
- [17:55] Silhouette: "Now I'm curious. What reasons would have for trapping us?"
- [17:55] Galrick: And they are not all bonkers
- [17:55] Galrick: Father time is pretty stable
- [17:55] Dale: ...
- [17:55] Galrick: Some of the others are equally well organized
- [17:55] Dale: Didn't Mariel refer to that as one of his analogs?
- [17:55] Iago: Interesting
- [17:55] Dale: him, not that, sorry.
- [17:56] Lkeas: What is it about Chronos that has driven him to his state?
- [17:56] Galrick: He is an old god whose own culture has faded
- [17:56] Galrick: Chronos is from Terra
- [17:56] Galrick: but who recognizes him on Terra
- [17:56] Silhouette: "Ahh... yes, I know that feeling."
- [17:56] Legault: No one...
- [17:56] Galrick: They would as soon recognize one of his alternates
- [17:57] Silhouette: "Who recognizes anthing truly important on Terra?"
- [17:57] Iago: Chronos, as in Saturn?
- [17:57] Galrick: Yes yes Iago
- [17:57] Galrick: Though the Roman Saturn is not quite the same being
- [17:57] Mingan: the Bringer of old age
- [17:57] Iago: Interesting, Greek God of time, father of Zeus
- [17:57] Galrick: Close analogs though
- [17:58] Galrick: The first to crawl out of the Chaos too
- [17:58] Silhouette: "Hm. So what reasons does Chronos have for working in the aid of Ryuusei?"
- [17:58] * Dale chuckles, looking around for Mariel.
- [17:58] Galrick: Which makes chronos among the Greek gods the oldest there is
- [17:58] Legault: People to worship him...
- [17:58] Galrick: Grecoroman deities were never very.... "transcendant"
- [17:58] Galrick: They always were after something werent they
- [17:59] Dale: They are in fact rather droll compared to others.
- [17:59] Orpheus: Son of Ouranos... if I'm not mistaken... husband to Rhea
- [17:59] Galrick: Chronos does not aid Ryuusei
- [17:59] * Orpheus returns to his silent observing
- [17:59] Galrick: Chronos aids Chronos
- [17:59] Dale: He is selfish then?
- [17:59] Iago: Self-serving deity... great
- [17:59] Mingan: he has his own agenda?
- [18:00] Silhouette: "Hm? But when Ryuusei meant to uncreate Alastor for Fulcan, Chronos was there...
- [18:00] Silhouette: "
- [18:00] Galrick: Chronos acts as if those worlds he sees uncreated hurt him personally right?
- [18:00] Lkeas: Yeah..
- [18:00] Dale: Yes...
- [18:00] Galrick: Thats ridiculous
- [18:00] Galrick: People die...
- [18:00] Galrick: thats the nature of time
- [18:00] Galrick: He does not mourn them then
- [18:00] Galrick: Paradoxes have existed since there were mages
- [18:00] Galrick: And uncreating one timeline just makes a new one
- [18:01] Silhouette: "Death by time is his own work, why would he not be sorrowful then?"
- [18:01] Lkeas: So it's all just an act?
- [18:01] Dale: So he just feigns it to get pity, then?
- [18:01] Galrick: No...
- [18:01] Galrick: It is a dodge to show you how much he knows
- [18:01] Galrick: and to make quite clear his power
- [18:01] Galrick: He can restore the uncreated
- [18:01] Dale: ( Grawr. You type too fast, Fal. >:o )
- [18:01] Galrick: vulgarly pop them into existance again
- [18:02] Dale: I see...
- [18:02] Silhouette: ( Not really... )
- [18:02] Galrick: Without context
- [18:02] Lkeas: Yes, it is quite intimidating..
- [18:02] Silhouette: "Hmph. So I've seen..."
- [18:02] Dale: That's...
- [18:02] Galrick: He can forcibly merge different peices of reality
- [18:02] Dale: Oh my...
- [18:02] Galrick: and because he controls the flow of time he can bandage them together
- [18:02] Silhouette: "Like, an omniversal band-aid?"
- [18:02] Syaoran: ...!
- [18:03] Galrick: He does what he does to let The'galin know that he has more power then The'galin does
- [18:03] Galrick: Anything The'Galin can undo he can redo
- [18:03] Galrick: And as he sees fit
- [18:03] Iago: So... how do we get him on our side?
- [18:03] Silhouette: "So he is showing The`Galin that he is superior?"
- [18:03] Mingan: a bit prickish if you ask me
- [18:03] Galrick: You want him on your side?
- [18:03] Galrick: I would as soon return to my old lord
- [18:03] Galrick: Better the Devil I know then the one I do not
- [18:03] Lkeas: Hmm. But even Lorithia is not interfering with The'Galin's work, and I'd trust her over Chronos..
- [18:03] Silhouette: "Mingan, with all due respect, nobody DID ask you."
- [18:04] Galrick: The Roman Pantehon arrived on earth
- [18:04] Galrick: They did not make it
- [18:04] Galrick: They interfere with others worlds by nature
- [18:04] Lkeas: I see.
- [18:04] Silhouette: "So, there is he who does The`Galin's work, The`Galin, she who doesn't interfere, Lorithia, and he who undoes The`Galin's will, Chronos."
- [18:04] Legault: From Chaos, right?
- [18:05] Mariel: From the Primordial
- [18:05] Mariel: Chaos is loosely applied here and only in the Grecoroman sense
- [18:05] Orpheus: Intriguing
- [18:06] Legault: Hmm... Some tavern I went to on BE served Primordial Soup...
- [18:07] * Lkeas scrawls a few notes on parchment. "Chaos, Planes of Instability... Limbo, Immertot..?"
- [18:07] Iago: So Chronos is actually serving the purpose of The'Galin by doing what Lorithia won't?
- [18:08] Iago: ... and therein aiding, though inadvertantly, the causes of Uncreation?
- [18:08] Galrick: ... you are clearly really confused ...
- [18:08] Iago: Probably...
- [18:08] *** Galrick has signed off IRC (Killed (Falerin (snatched from this reality))).
- [18:08] * Iago looks a bit embarassed and shuts up
- [18:08] Dale: Gah...
- [18:08] Dale: And he's gone...
- [18:09] * Lkeas curses lightly. "I didn't get a chance to ask him if he'd seen a man named Jacob in his travels on Lore..."
- [18:09] * Deathbringer sighs.
- [18:09] >Ambiance<: the Hourglass reassembles
- [18:09] Frost: wow im completely new on all this truthseeker stuff that was really interesting to wander into my first time in here...
- [18:10] Deathbringer: Woah! The hourglass...
- [18:10] Dale: Hm...
- [18:10] Dale: Chronos, is that you? Did you do that?
- [18:10] Mingan: assuredly
- [18:10] * Orpheus smiles gently to Frost and gestures for him to come and sit on the sofa by him, "Just come and watch for now, my friend"
- [18:10] * Damsel smiles faintly, finally deciding to speak up. "Oh, it's not over yet, I think."
- [18:10] * Lkeas smiles at Frost. "I must apologize, I didn't see you there. I hope you are not too overwhelmed, being a new seeker to this place.."
- [18:11] * Damsel lets her smile fade as she grows serious. "I think perhaps an important piece of that conversation might have been overlooked."
- [18:12] * Lkeas turns to Damsel. "Which piece?"
- [18:12] * Orpheus smiles again to Frost, "We are in the same proverbial boat, my friend, I am new here as well"... the old man smiles and stands, "Dr. Paul Orpheus, pleased to meet you"... he bows slightly, his slight british accent catching on the "you"
- [18:13] Syaoran: About how uncreation can be undone by other dieties of time? Or that there may be conflict coming amongst the deities of different realms due to them interfering with what they should not?
- [18:13] * Damsel turns towards Lkeas. "He said Chronos can merge timelines, bandage them up. Does that not sound like what might have happened in reguards to Lore's timeline?"
- [18:13] Dale: Oh my...
- [18:13] Silhouette: ( Someone PM what I missed? )
- [18:13] Mingan: possibly
- [18:13] Syaoran: Between now and 5 years ago?
- [18:13] Dale: (( God dammit. That just complicated EVERYTHING, Damsel. >.> ))
- [18:13] * Lkeas frowns. "Have timelines merged? Daniel seemed to think they had split further.."
- [18:14] * Damsel shakes her head. "Oh no. Much more than that. He can patch probably at any point in that time line. Thus why we can't mark a pinpoint in the diversion."
- [18:14] Mingan: perhaps he did that after the first coming though
- [18:14] Lkeas: But then, if he is able to travel to our version of Lore while maintaining his memories of his own past...
- [18:14] Lkeas: It is rather mucked up.
- [18:14] Damsel: "Actually, if I recall correctly, he said they couldn't have split."
- [18:15] Legault: Hmm... Does that mean the current Lore might just be bits and pieces of split timelines?
- [18:15] * Orpheus silently returns to his seat and watches
- [18:15] Mingan: some sort of patchwork?
- [18:16] * Damsel chuckles. "The very word I was going to use, in fact. Though I could not say how many timelines might have been merged. It may have been as few as too or as many as he could manage..."
- [18:16] Silhouette: ( I really hate my connection. )
- [18:17] Mingan: in any case, I hope I won't have to unwind all this, I'm bad at knots
- [18:17] Damsel: "Still, this would answer many of the problems Daniel was having with the possibility of such a divergence in the timelines. Of course, it only creates more, but that is the nature of what we do here, I suppose."
- [18:18] * Lkeas nods.
- [18:18] Mingan: I agree
- [18:19] Mingan: but are we supposed to untangle this, or just cope with it?
- [18:20] Legault: We can't untangle it ourselves.
- [18:21] Damsel: "At this point it is a theory and not much more. Perhaps, however, some research might be done on the prophecy. We have been each iteration is true, but different flavors. It is possible that they hold clues as to which realities have been patched, if that is indeed what happened.""
- [18:21] Lkeas: Ah, that might reveal some interesting clues indeed.
