Inception
The beginning of the backyard wrestling era is believed to have started prior to the 1990's though there isn't specific evidence. Many believed it sparked long before that time, particular since the 1950's. The 1980's is clearly the year professional wrestling was exploited to the mainstream and gained abundant popularity after Hulk Hogan bodyslammed Andre The Giant on the canvas floor at WrestleMania III, erupting audience in the arena and around the world in sheer dismay. Following that occurence, backyard wrestling officially debuted and gained the media attention for its safe professionalism.
