HB Journal for Sep 12, 1939
From Brackbillwiki
Again the "Better Half" takes the pen. After a fine night's sleep we got up as usual and Herman got off to the mill about 15 min earlier than usual. At the office we were not very busy but they made up for it at the mill. They were so busy that Herm didn't get his book work done, nor did he get home for supper 'till six. After supper I ironed, canned a few peaches and cleaned up my dirty dishes. Herm was tired and as a result retired very early. He has been in dreamland for about 3/4 of an hr. Now it's my turn to head for bed.
