HB Journal for Oct 12, 1940
From Brackbillwiki
Nice day, the banks all closed and no money.
Part of our force was taking a holiday today and we didn't see much activity at the shop.
After dinner it was my good fortune to be able to go to the afternoon session of the C.E. Convention. We had swell conferences and were well inspired.
I came home for supper and got Jane, Mary Jane & Everett & we went back again. Wm. Allan Dean was a wonderful fellow & we enjoyed him as much as we benefited from him.
Commentary
October 12 was Columbus Day, a bank holiday then as now in the U.S.
