HB Journal for Oct 11, 1939

From Brackbillwiki

We got up sleepily shortly after the alarm "went off" this morning. It was still dark for the sun itself is staying in bed longer these fall mornings.

At the mill we found the usual routine. Red McLaughlin was there a little. We didn't work extra hard or long.

Ilse Eshelman put 40 chickens in "our" old wooden house.

After supper we went to a S.S. ass'n meeting at church. The old wouldn't give way to the new.

We had a short prayer meeting.

Mrs. Kaufman was there for choir practice but the saddest note of the day was Mary Jane's absence.

Home late.
