HB Journal for May 4, 1940

Jane, of course, didn't go with me to work but stayed at home & prepared for dinner tonight.

I worked as usual.

After dinner I raked the lawn & mowed it, having Webbie to help me. It really needed mowing.

After cleaning myself up I went down & brought Grammy Young & Auntie up for "dinner." Uncle & Aunt Young were here also and everything was fine and good. Aunty Mary brought us a May basket.

After supper we played Chinese checkers & chess. After the company had gone home, we finished the dishes about eleven oclock.
