HB Journal for Jul 29, 1939
From Brackbillwiki
We got around quite on time. Groffie & I each drove this morning & I had the office books to take.
It seemed a little bit cooler and still "close" today. We weren't rushed but were busy. Allen & Groffie & I stayed in the afternoon till 3:30 & bagged wheat. The sweat poured from off us.
After a prolonged bath, I went down to Jane's home & then with the Sheaffers, Grammy & Auntie, we dined on chicken corn soup, apple pie & icecream, etc.
We went to the big successful festival in town here afterwards. We enjoyed it immensely & won a watermelon on tickets someone had given me.
