HB Journal for Jan 14, 1939
From Brackbillwiki
I got up nice and early this morning but John had the mill running full speed when I arrived at work. The snow was deep but not drifted and had ceased during the night.
We were plenty busy and I worked till about 3:00. Then the boys borrowed David Sapps two horse sliegh and borrowed "pappy's" horse and planned a sleighing party. We had fifteen or twenty guests and had a "sleighin'" good time.
We both fell asleep at Youngs and I got home about 3:30.
