HB Journal for Dec 9, 1940
From Brackbillwiki
The clock struck two as I lay awake with my head stopped up and hurting. I went back to sleep later on but when it came time to get up I felt I owed it to myself to stay in and catch up my health.
I was abed all day except for a few trips downstairs etc.
I wasn't terribly sick but was content to lay and didn't need amusement.
Betty Doutrich & a girl friend came in the evening. Nancy was here also. I shaved in bed and looked over some choir music & read the funnies.
