HB Journal for Dec 8, 1939
From Brackbillwiki
Today's outstanding characteristic was a very high wind. The prevailing westerly, although not very cold, certainly made things chilly and unpleasant at the mill.
Poor Allie didn't get around yet. We weren't terribly rushed but had to work late to finish.
After supper I did the dishes. Jane dressed up and went to a committee meeting at Rachel Keene's. I sat around, read, and meditated till about nine thirty then, there being no signs of Jane's returning shortly, I retired.
