HB Journal for Dec 31, 1940
From Brackbillwiki
Today it is goodby and farewell to 1940. It was the happiest year in all my life in its treasure of happiness and yet it brought to me much weighty disturbance of the mind & will, as well as new and added responsibilities.
Yet in it all, it was a wonderful year and I thank our Creator and Redeemer for not only the moments of sheer joy and delight but also the deeper and more lasting joy and satisfaction that comes from bearing the burdens I believe are my lot in the service of the Master.
Betty & Emory visited us in the evening.
Nancy & Lois were here for supper. Uncle Herb & Aunt Mary came also in the evening.
