HB Journal for Aug 6, 1940
From Brackbillwiki
Now it's Tuesday. It seemed a little like rain in the morning and as the day went on it got like rain--we were busy too.
About the time we finished eating supper it did rain, too, poured. A great thunderstorm accompanied it. Having returned to work in the evening I was informed that the lightning had knocked a large hole in the roof of Youngs's house. They were scared.
It kept on raining & when I was done with Park Pickell, I came home.
