HB Journal for Aug 30, 1940
From Brackbillwiki
More rain dampened our old earth; rain that was needed by many places and much appreciated but rain that also dampened the spirits of us mortals.
Such days are busy ones for the office and shop and so we say "It's an ill wind that blows no good."
Our little girl is starting her fourth week with us and is growing dearer and dearer in the hearts of us, her parents.
Bed time is not until ten oclock and so we spend long sleepy evenings before retiring.
