HB Journal for Aug 20, 1940

This was a cool morning again. I got up promptly at six and had a nice breakfast.

We were pretty busy in the forenoon but everything was small to the home coming anticipated.

After dinner, Mother, Nancy & I went in to do a little shopping and especially to bring my girls home. They both stood the trip very nicely.

Eunice & Val are now staying with us and it is quite enjoyable. Evelyn had quite a few callers and is quite proud of us. (we hope)
