13th Brackbill Reunion Sunday, July 5, 1959

The 13th reunion of the Brackbill Family was held in the Paradise Community Park on Sunday July 5, 1959.

The meeting was opened by singing "America".

Rev. Harold Brackbill led the group in devotions.

President Lee Brown gave the address of welcome.

We were entertained with special music by the Men's Chorus of the Leacock Presbyterian Church.

Benjamin Brackbill introduced Mr. Jacob Bowers, the speaker of the day.

Benjamin Brackbill conducted the memorial exercises for the following:

The Minutes were approved as read.

The treasurer reported a balance of $26.09.

An offering of $34.86 was then received.

Harry Brackbill, chairman of the Nominating Committee gave the following report:

  • President - M. Clair Hershey
  • V. President - Elvin Brackbill
  • Rec. Sec. - Jacob Brackbill
  • Treasurer - Walter Denlinger
  • Historian - Martin Brackbill Jr.

Karl Ranck moved to accept report.

Hershey Brackbill seconded the motion. Motion was carried.

Harold Brackbill moved that the nominations be closed and that the Secretary cast ballot for the nominees.

Benjamin Brackbill seconded motion and the motion was carried. Secretary cast ballot and the President then declared the nominees duly elected.

Clair Hershey then awarded the following prizes:

  1. Hettie & Benjamin Kurtz - Oldest married couple - married 53 years
  2. Elizabeth Groff, Karl Ranck, 53 years old - oldest single persons
  3. Brian Keith Denlinger, son of Rev. & Mrs. Wilmer Denlinger - youngest person

The program was closed by singing "Blest Be the Tide That Binds".

Most of the group remained to eat their picnic lunch and fellowship together.
