HB Journal for Feb 9, 1940

There was no need for us to get up at the usual time this morning and so we didn't.

Jane went to the doctor and I went to the barbers (after doing the dishes). I filled in the morning working on my "sermon" then made dinner.

After dinner we went back to work. It was a fairly nice day but cloudy. I worked till quitting time then had supper from my lunchbox. I worked on until about eleven thirty, then home.

Today I broke the news to John that I was leaving him for my Daddy-in-law.
