A wish came true today. I have been hoping for a year now that I would get a chance to go up the creek and go to work on a big leak in the dam. Today I was sent up to help.

It gave me a chance to do some entirely new work, to get away from the grind and dust of the mill, to get a little sunburn, and to change the routine of the day's work in general.

After supper Jane went to orchestra practice and brought Betty Doutrich. I first finished mowing the yard. We took Betty home & went for a nice moonlight swim.
