Wow that was short (Wapanese)
From Badrp
Ah, Wildefyre and her character "Officer Joe," aka Dee from FAKE. Such a tale to tell.
My first interaction with her was actually on my own account, a bunch of mindless fangirl squealing safely locked within the trusty Double Parentheses. Now, perhaps I was mistaken, but I'd come to think of the Double Parentheses as the universal "I am talking to the mun, your pup cannot hear this" marks, and that is how I was using them - talking about characters and pups and resisting the temptation to create the latter. You know how it is. But Delilah responded IC to my doubly parenthetic remarks. I blinked and went "zuh?" and pointed out, with no small amount of confusion, that I had been directing that at the mun, not the pup. The mun giggled (double-parenthetically I might add) and said they had simply decided to stay IC for the post.
This probably should have presaged the WANK to come. Ah, hindsight, how 20/20 you are.
I succumbed to the temptation of introducing another pup from Dee's canon. Canonically, this character is very, very enthusiastically in love with Dee, to the point of being rather stupid about it at times. He's my favorite from that canon and I know him inside out, so I figured there'd be no problems.
Unfortunately, I had made the poor judgement call of entering a thread in which Dee was being Drunken and Emo. I did my best to play my pup as I thought he would act, and at first all seemed to be going well enough. Then my pup asked an innocent question, Dee got angry, my pup was stunned, and Dee BLEW THE FUCK UP. Screaming at my pup, accusing my pup of stalking him during their academy days, and of driving Dee's girlfriend of the time away by telling her that Dee and my pup were sleeping together.
WHAT? First of all -- none of that is even remotely implied in the canon, and is actually out of character for my pup. (He's overenthusiastic and a little blind when it comes to Dee -- he is also a dutiful police detective and quite possibly genetically incapable of dishonesty.) Second -- I'm sorry, but last I checked, this is *my* puppet, not yours, please give me back his strings. Godmoding is not cool.
Ironically enough, this took place *after* the conversation I had with Dee as myself, in which I commented on the behavior of my soon-to-be-pup, noting that at least he didn't try to actively get rid of the man Dee was in love with, right? Oh, dear god, I hope I didn't give Deemun the *idea* for that...
I had to have my pup bow out after that. I didn't trust myself to keep him IC around Dee, and no longer wanted to deal with Dee at all.
Wildefyre, a hint - if you, in ONE conversation, can drive a mun who studies the canon and practically psychoanalyzes pups before playing them to be sure they remain IC, to withdraw her pup more or less permanently because she doesn't think she can keep her pup IC around you, THE PROBLEM IS PROBABLY WITH YOU. PLEASE TO RE-EVALUATE YOUR PLAYING STYLE. Thank you.
