Balon of House Greyjoy, Lord of the Iron Islands, King of Salt and Rock, Son of the Sea Wind, Lord Reaper of Pyke, is wed to Lady Alannys of House Harlaw. They have four children, Rodrik, Maron, Asha and Theon.

278 AL His son Theon Greyjoy was born.

During Greyjoy's Rebellion Rodrik was slain at Seagard and Maron slain on the walls of Pyke leaving Theon as his sole living son and heir.

289 AL At night in the castle of Pyke Balon surrendered to King Robert. Balon's son Theon Greyjoy became the hostage and ward of Eddard Stark, Lord of Winterfell.
