9: Hypocrites and Traitors

1. God inspired Aryeztur to say that the two most

2. shameful kinds of people are hypocrites

3. and traitors. Beware of them, for they cause

4. the most pain, especially to the heart. It

5. is easy for people to endure physical pain,

6. but the torment of the soul is far worse. Therefore,

7. forgive the hypocrites and traitors, but do

8. not allow them to continue their sinful

9. ways lest they cause sore wounds. Remember

10. that while wounds will heal, the

11. scars will always remain.

Commentary: This book provides the opinion that the worst types of people are traitors and hypocrites because their actions have severe emotional consequences for other people. Pains caused by these types of people are typically the most enduring; this is why such people should be prevented from causing pain.
