The Aryezi Calendar for Arel is the main calendar in use in Arel; it was developed in Aryez. It is used in accordance with the Aryezi Standard Chronology. It is a solar calendar based on the revolution of Arel around its star Anar 1, which is 400 days of 25 hours each. The Calendar is very simple. The first day of the year is the first day of spring. The calendar consists of 10 equal months of 40 days each. Each month is therefore 1/10 of a year. Interestingly, the calendar may also be considered lunar because it takes the largest moon of Arel, Tina (moon) 40 days to revolve around Arel. The Calendar doesn't really have the concept of week, but each month is divided into 5 periods of 8 days for the sake of official purposes.
