Arzor is the name of a country east of Aryez on the continent of North-Eastland (Farrozdar), traditionally ruled by the Arzori branch of the Mejorkhor Dynasty. The Empire of Arzor currently rules over all of North Eastland and is thus the same thing as it. Arzor grew by the conquest of Arzor proper (the area known as Ardor) of neighboring kingdoms.

Language and Religion

The official language of Arzor is Arzori, a dialect of Modern Aryezi considered a seperate language for political purposes. It is spoken as a first language by about 40%-45% of the population and is the majority language in the provinces of Ardor, Zagazdar, Traz, and Enarzor. Other major languages are also spoken in Arzor and include Taigaz, Wigga, Hinin, Rabiyez, Seaz, Zengezi, Ferish, Gashi, Meknes, Hadak, Wocha, and Fonisi.

The main religion throughout Arzor is Aralan; specifically the Esharnash branch of Aralan (55%-65%). In reality, people in many parts of Arzor practice a mix of native beliefs and Aralan [which is permissable in Aralan]. The non-Aralanic population mostly follows other religions although there are some who follow native and traditional religions. The religion of Mazda has many followers in the eastern regions and the religion of Venuj is dominant in Taiga and Ferkes (15%-25%).

Religion Statistics are as following:

-Aralan: 62%

   - Esharnash: 83%
   - Shannarash: 16%
   - Zihreka: 1%

- Venuj: 26%

- Mazda: 9%

- Traditional and other religions: 3%

Subdivisions (Inzdarai)

Arzdor is divided into subdivisions (provinces) or inzdarai (singular: inzdar), which are furthermore divided into counties and districts (ininzdarai). The provinces of Arzor are based on cultural and historical considerations. The provinces of Arzor are [from west to east]:

1. Ardor: Consists of the districts of 1) Skaitol (Dragon Isle), 2) Hararyez (Near Aryez), 3) Argashizdar (Argash-Land), 4) Enardor (Central Ardor), 5) Tordor (Forest-Land), and 6) Romenrim (Eastmarch).

2. Zagazdar (Zagaland)

3. Traz

4. Zengez

5. Rabiye

6. Enarzor (Central Arzor; Capital Province): Consists of the districts of 1) Amonaizdar (Mountain-Land), and 2) Sirizdar (Riverland). The capital of Arzor, Mejor Alkar is located here.

7. Taiga

8. Wiggahos (Wiggazdar, Wiggaland)

9. Hininim

10. Peltu

11. Ferkes

12. Gash

Etymology

Arzor is a corruption of the Aryezi words "Ar" and "Dor." These two words were actually borrowed into Aryezi from Arzdari. Taken together, these two words mean "great place." Arzor was orignally the eastern province of the Aryezi Empire in the western part of North-Eastland; however after its independence, it came to dominate the entire continent of North-Eastland. As a result, Arzor is the same thing as the North-Eastland. The original Arzor is known as Ardor within Arzor and refers to the original part of Arzor.
