Spring 1215

Word comes to us of a covenant forming near Waddensee. This will either be a great threat or a great asset to us. We have made ready the airship and Sky (Caela) is anxious to get underway. I must admit that curiousity as well as self-preservation has me anxious as well.

We've been travelling only two days and we've just passed over the wreckage of one of my favorite ships. The crew seems to have gone ashore relatively unharmed but the ship is beyond repair. We took a trip to the nearby fishing village and found a few of the men. Apparently a giant came aboard a caused the ship to hit the rocks at high speed. Hmm, more likely a mage. This could be quite useful.

We've come to the covenant and I can already see the giant. I've also spotted the most magnificent creature I've ever seen. A lioness with the wings of an eagle soars majestically through the clouds. If ever there were an omen of good fortune, being greeted by a leonine goddess must be the greatest of them all.

Upon landing we made our entrance. The giant is most unfriendly, but he obeys the rules of the Order. Another giant elf-maiden is here, but very quiet.

The lioness is a maga! How regal she is. I must be very careful to choose my words. It wouldn't do for Sky to get jealous. I believe Sky would be the victor, but it would be a shame to destroy such majesty.

Negotiations took longer than expected, but I believe we have reached an understanding. I don't believe they will intrude on our piracy, and I think the lioness is starting to like me.

Summer 1215

Waddensee has been raided! Some bear-skin wearing fools have burned down our buildings. The remaining invaders have been fried by Sky, but their leaders must be dealt with.

We took our airship and destroyed a fleeing longship. The survivor was questioned and told me that his leaders come from Trondheim. I offered to allow him to join our crew, but he chose death. After Sky fried him, I decide we should return to Heorot to seek assistance (and a temporary base of operations).

The magi were eager to help (although the leoness pretended not to be happy to see us, that magnificent little lynx!) Before long, the giant, whom it turns out is a Quaesitor, was aboard the airship to investigate ou little problem. I've never met such a helpful, reasonable Quaesitor in my life. He knows when to look and more importantly when to look away. He questioned the dead and confirmed the confessions of the living. It seems our enemy is the Order of Odin.

Well, it's been several weeks and I've prepared an arcane connection from a dead Odin soldier's hand. We'll see how useful it is. Sky and I have made ourselves at home here and have worked out an agreement to rebuild Waddensee here in the Aura shared by Heorot. We'll share an Aura and their Library and they'll get half of our Vis and the help of our manpower. They'll look the other way while half our Turb are off pirating and we'll help with covenant expenses.

Leona has asked if we wish to join her at the Festival of Twelve Years. I am sorely tempted to follow her to the lair of her people, but the protection of my people and fidelity to my Queen must take precedence. I wish her luck and am planning to show her a glorious victory over the Order of Odin upon her return.
