Situation
Saxton Map: Didlesbury
South-east of [{Wenlock Edge]], in the Corve dale, Diddlebury lies 1km north-east of Corfton.
History
The settlement here may be very old - the churchyard was once round in shape, which may indicate a sacred pagan site taken over by Christians. Bedore the conquest the church and land belonged to Edward the Confessor.
Church
St Peter's church has Saxon sections in the north wall of the nave, and the base of the tower. Much of the rest of the structure is 12th century, although thr south Aisle extension built in the 14th century was rebuilt in the 19th century.
