Situation
Saxton Map: Corfton
South-east of [{Wenlock Edge]], in the Corve dale, Corfton lies 1km south-west of Diddlebury. The main axis of the village lies north-west to southeeast, following a stream, taking water down from the hills to the north west.

4,8,10 Corfton (Cortvne) Herbert holds it from him. Alsi held it. 3 hides which pay tax. In lordship 2 ploughs; 4 ploughmen; 4 villagers and 1 smallholder with 2 ploughs; 2 others would be possible. A hedged enclosure for capturing roe-deer. The value was 16s; now 12s.

Remnants of a chapel, adjacent to the castle.
Castle
"The Mount". An oval shaped motte, (42-50m base diameter, 21-30m summit), with a rectangular bailey to the east.
