Situation
South-east of [{Wenlock Edge]], in the Corve dale, Corfton lies 1km south-west of Diddlebury. The main axis of the village lies north-west to seough east, following a stream, taking water down from the hills to the north west.
History
Recoded as one of Hugh de Montgommeri's holdings in Domesday. Hugh de Montgommery, was second son of Earl Roger de Montgomery
Church
Remnants of a chapel, adjacent to the castle.
Castle
"The Mount". An oval shaped motte, (42-50m base diameter, 21-30m summit), with a rectangular bailey to the east.
