Session 2

From Arispemage

Storyteller (7:25:45 PM): So, last we left off, the lot of you had found a dead man, got info about the dead man, and were going to get info about the most recent murder, yes?
Brian (7:26:47 PM): The crystal on the top of Brian's staff was still sparkling with electricity left over from banishing the cage of pure lightning.
Genji (7:28:14 PM): Genji was still a little amazed at the cage of pure lightning
Peter (7:31:05 PM): Peter was still disappointed in humanity
Brian (7:31:50 PM): "...I could have just killed him. We didn't need to let him go."
Storyteller (7:34:53 PM): Some squirrels run by.
Brian (7:35:28 PM): ((Are you guys sleeping?))
Storyteller (7:35:50 PM): (Brother John is dead.)
Adler (7:37:12 PM): "...lets just get to Abuelo's place." Adler says, pointedly ignoring Brian's comment.
Peter (7:38:01 PM): "Sounds good to me. Shall we fly?"
Brian (7:38:31 PM): "Is one of the portals nearby?"
Storyteller (7:38:56 PM): (A few hours on foot. Less by car.)
Peter (7:41:20 PM): He looked around, bliunking at the silence. "Not by flight then I take it...well, we'd better get walking hadn't we?"
Brian (7:41:49 PM): "We can fly, should we wish."
Adler (7:41:53 PM): ((What time is it?))
Storyteller (7:42:14 PM): (About 7 AM.)
Storyteller (7:42:26 PM): (Well, from how the sky looks..)
Adler (7:43:58 PM): "...considering that one person looking up while they're getting their paper or starting to move around could result in a bit of a downer, perhaps we should..hmm..."
Adler (7:44:28 PM): "Maybe fly until we get a little closer to civilization, as it were, and then hoof it from there?"
Brian (7:45:08 PM): "Sounds fine to me." Brian's stick clicked slightly against the ground.
Storyteller (7:46:07 PM): Clickity, clickity clack, it takes only a little while for you to get back.
Peter (7:46:40 PM): ((Umm, wait, were we flying, or somthing else?)
Brian (7:46:57 PM): ((I guess we walked.))
Peter (7:47:10 PM): ((Ok, cool, that's ultimately much faster))
Storyteller (7:47:18 PM): (Remember that plot hole that took out Paige? You guys traversed it..)
Genji (7:47:19 PM): Genji nods. "Sounds all right."
Brian (7:48:51 PM): Brian dusted off his robe, his hand wrapped around his staff. "Walking sure takes a while."
Peter (7:49:28 PM): He shrugged. "Good company at least?"
Storyteller (7:50:07 PM): It's a bit by foot, but you guys do get into the tunnels. Eventually.
Storyteller (7:52:06 PM): When you get there, your rather immediately notice the corpse just beyond the door. It's hard not to do so.
Brian (7:52:11 PM): Brian looked forward, ignoring the museum that was the halls. "Such waste of space."
Brian (7:52:19 PM): "...well. That's quite interesting."
Storyteller (7:52:30 PM): Looks like your 'friend' Lazarus.
Peter (7:52:57 PM): He stopped as he saw Lazarus. "Blimey, why the bloody 'ell is everything dying today wherever I go?"
Storyteller (7:53:01 PM): He's missing quite a bit of his skin, and there's blood around, but he's otherwise unmolested.
Adler (7:54:42 PM): Adler's eyes go wide, and she skids to a halt, taking a step back.
Brian (7:55:46 PM): Brian held his staff out, making sure no one walked past. "...turn on your investigations. Now. No one gets too close until we make sure that whatever did this isn't still here."
Brian (7:57:16 PM): (Brian is using Sense Life and Supernal Vision)
Peter (7:57:34 PM): "Take a look, would you Tink?" He asked pleradingly
Peter (7:58:10 PM): She sihged a bit. "Kid, you've got to be a bit less charitable with things that aren't yours." With that, she flew off of his shoulder to take a look around the scene
Peter (7:58:42 PM): ((Can I throw Tink's investigation pool?))
Storyteller (7:58:50 PM): (Sure.)
Brian (7:58:53 PM): Brian's eyes began to flower again, the Aether slowly entering his mind to open his Third Eye.
Peter (7:59:02 PM): ((Any penalties she's taking?))
Storyteller (7:59:26 PM): (Nope.)
Brian (7:59:28 PM): Brian...what are you wearing, my son? Why do you ignore my wishes? WHY HAVE YOU NOT GIVING HONOR TO M-
Brian (7:59:41 PM): Brian shakes his head, shutting down the voice in his mind. The Aether did this sometimes... OnlineHost (7:59:50 PM):
Peter rolled 6 10-sided dice: 7 4 5 10 4 7 OnlineHost (7:59:58 PM):
Peter rolled 1 10-sided die: 5
Peter (8:00:06 PM): ((Ick, 1 suxx)
Brian (8:00:10 PM): "...there's nothing living for quite a ways. But...there's still something on his clothing."
Adler (8:02:15 PM): "...do you guys need me to take a look too?" Adler is looking at anything but the body, and appears to be trembling slightly.
Peter (8:02:18 PM): He blinked a few times as Tink flew about, bringing things and dropping them into his hands. He looked at them,a nd then up at the fairy with a
Peter (8:02:19 PM): confused look on his face. "A mint? Why'd you bring me a Mint?" "Everyone's a critic. You want I should let ya do this y'rself?" She grumbled under her breath a bit more
Brian (8:02:39 PM): "Look at the body, Adler. We need all the eyes we can."
Peter (8:02:59 PM): He looked down at the other two things. "A matchbook and some paper with his blood on it...odd. Was he a smoker?"
Adler (8:04:50 PM): "..." The young eidetic shuddered for a moment before opening up her inner eye and spacial senses, and slowly turning to study the corpse and the area around it, her will focused on keeping her rebelling...
Adler (8:04:56 PM): stomach in check.
Adler (8:06:24 PM): ((Third Eye, Spatial Awareness, and the Hidden Meaning))
Adler (8:06:37 PM): ((And months worth of nightmares)
Brian (8:07:43 PM): ((Eh. It'll build character.))
Brian (8:07:58 PM): ((Brian's getting bitched at by his Father. Adler can live with a nightmare or two.))
Genji (8:08:27 PM): ((T____T I'm sorry about that, my connection's been sucking today.))
Brian (8:08:44 PM): ((ish cool.))
Adler (8:10:09 PM): "...there's something underneath him..."
Genji (8:10:56 PM): Genji knelt down, holding back his urge to vomit as he moved to turn the corpse over. "This is awful, ugh..."
Brian (8:10:56 PM): Brian looked closer at the body. "...Ken, watch my back." Brian walked toward the body, his staff held out in front of him in case something should jump out at him.
Brian (8:11:19 PM): *edit undo*
Genji (8:11:30 PM): ((Errr, sorry. ^^;;))
Brian (8:11:59 PM): Brian looked over Genji's shoulder, his floral-printed eyes with their Supernal vision watching as he turned him over.
Genji (8:12:13 PM): Ken nodded to his companions, signaling for them to get ready for whatever might be coming... He turned the corpse over.
Storyteller (8:13:01 PM): In his hands, he's gripping lots of papers bloodied from his lack of skin, They seem to be forming an arrow that's pointing up.
Storyteller (8:13:06 PM): to his face.
Brian (8:13:54 PM): Brian frowned, the gem end of his staff moving to position the dead man's face where everyone can see.
Storyteller (8:15:15 PM): It's totally devoid of flesh.
Storyteller (8:15:24 PM): Otherwise, it's intact.
Brian (8:15:51 PM): "...what took his face?"
Genji (8:17:03 PM): Genji shudders and looks away.
Brian (8:17:40 PM): Brian kneeled down, used to the sight of skinned creatures due to years of hunting. "Something with his face..." His thumb lowered the man's jaw, checking his mouth, his eyes, his nose, etc.
Storyteller (8:18:03 PM): Other than the lack of skin, it's remarkably intact.
Storyteller (8:19:10 PM): Feels pretty recent.
Brian (8:19:24 PM): The Aether flowers in his eyes began to give off their pollen, leaving ethereal sparkles on the ground around him. "This didn't happen too long ago...we can follow who did this.
Brian (8:19:26 PM): "
Genji (8:19:57 PM): "Ugh... S-so, it hasn't done this before... And... Yeah, I can follow it."
Genji (8:20:34 PM): After all, whatever did this has his face, which means it must smell a lot like Lazarus still...
Genji (8:21:22 PM): ((Do I still have my wolf olfactory nerves?))
Storyteller (8:21:38 PM): (Probably)
Brian (8:21:39 PM): "Judging from the blood spill...it should have traces of Lazarus left on it." Brian looked up. "Adler. Go with Genji. Watch his back and call for Peter if you find anyone."
Brian (8:22:07 PM): "Peter. You and Tink help me look around here...there's a reason they left Lazarus's body here. It had to be more than just eating his face."
Adler (8:22:12 PM): "...ok..."
Genji (8:23:06 PM): Genji fell to all fours, sniffing the corpse. Once he picked up the scent, he stood and started off. "All right, I've got the smell... damn it..."
Peter (8:23:12 PM): He nodded to Brian. "Gotcha." He turned to Adler. "Be safe, please." This, of course, was mimiced and charicturized silently by Tink
Genji (8:24:52 PM): Genji pointed back where they came from. "It's back this way..."
Brian (8:25:03 PM): Brian narrowed his eyes. "...it PASSED us?"
Genji (8:25:28 PM): He led the way trepidatiously, walking lower than normal, the Wolf he had taken into himself making him extra nervous, extra cautious.
Genji (8:25:40 PM): "It's the only answer to THIS..."
Brian (8:26:17 PM): Brian gave a low muttering, watching Genji and Adler leave. "Well, at least we can get some good investigating done. The girl needs some toughening up, to get so queezy at the sight of death...but that's for another time."
Peter (8:26:59 PM): He turned. "A lady shouldn't have to see such things, she's not being unreasonable."
Brian (8:27:28 PM): The ghostly pollen coming from his eyes got thicker, the dust starting to grow into transparent flowers on the ground. "You know as well as the rest of us, Peter. When we are what we are, this is just another Tuesday."
Peter (8:27:55 PM): He cocked a brow confusedly
Brian (8:27:58 PM): He kneeled back down next to the corpse. "You and your fairy search to see if anything was taken. I'll attempt to figure out what had skinned him."
Peter (8:28:32 PM): "Well, you heard the man Tink." She stuck her tounge out at him and flew to the other side of the room to search.
Genji (8:28:42 PM): Genji took in a stronger sniff, scrunching his face in displeasure. "Ugh... the trail gets FRESHER here. Stay close, Adler."
Genji (8:30:10 PM): Genji turns off of the beaten path, straying from where they had been, no longer backtracking. "It took another route... It can't be far..."
Storyteller (8:31:01 PM): About half way there, the scent of Lazarus ends, and you find his skin.
Storyteller (8:31:15 PM): There is a very strong trail that smells like rot, though.
Adler (8:31:36 PM): Adler tries to pick up any sort of resonace she can off the path they are following...and then is promptly distracted by her stomach deciding that enough is enough, and it didn't want breakfast for company anymore.
Adler (8:32:27 PM): //roll-dice9-sides10 OnlineHost (8:32:27 PM):

Brian rolled 5 10-sided dice: 1 5 8 7 3
Brian (8:33:08 PM): ((1))
Adler (8:37:08 PM): After she eases herself, trembling, to her knees, and reaches over to pluck a piece of paper out of the mess.
Brian (8:38:08 PM): Brian shook his head in anger, the flowers falling out of his eyes. "Worthless...it's not natural, I know that much. Gaia won't understand it..."
Brian (8:38:44 PM): He let a heavy sigh. When he spoke, it was in Atlantean, the ancient language. [Father Uranus...please help me see what has happened.] OnlineHost (8:39:07 PM):
Brian rolled 11 10-sided dice: 6 9 6 8 4 2 8 10 7 10 6 OnlineHost (8:39:15 PM):

Peter (8:39:59 PM): ((Man, I can't roll for shit tonight))
Peter (8:40:03 PM): ((1))
Brian (8:40:44 PM): Brian's temples were pounding, his Father attempting to get in. He only let the smallest hint of Uranus in...just enough to see what had happened.
Adler (8:40:45 PM): "Warn them of the Lich, huh?" Adler grimaces, and waves Genji onwards.
Peter (8:41:00 PM): "Oh, hey, Brian" He turned around holding up a notebook. "Is this important?"
Brian (8:41:18 PM): "Magic was used. The skin was...strengthened. Almost like a thick leather. And then torn off in one whole piece." Brian turned to look at Peter.
Genji (8:41:22 PM): Genji pats Adler on the back in sympathy before getting back on the trail.
Brian (8:41:37 PM): For just a moment, the Obrimos's eyes were red and bloodshot, filled with the scent of death and impure cleansing.
Brian (8:41:41 PM): Just as quickly, it was gone.
Brian (8:42:18 PM): "Depends. What's in the notebook?"
Peter (8:42:49 PM): "Dunno, not a lot of pages left." He started flipping and skimming the notebook,. comparting it to the page Tink brought him earlier.
Storyteller (8:43:14 PM): (Most of it's work orders and personal things. It gets interesting for a bit, then just after the first mention of the Lich, the pages are torn our.
Storyteller (8:43:20 PM): (out).
Peter (8:43:53 PM): "Somthign about the Lich, and then it gets empty fast."
Genji (8:44:01 PM): Genji leads himself and Adler all the way back to the dead Tremere's resting place... "...Well shit. What does THIS mean?"
Brian (8:44:22 PM): "Oh?" Brian's eyes turn back down to the papers held in Lazarus's hand. With a gentle movement he opened the fingers, rigor mortis not having set in just yet.
Brian (8:44:35 PM): He looked over the papers, his eyes squinted to read through the blood stains.
Storyteller (8:45:30 PM): Also, back at the site of the dead Tremere, the corpse is gone.
Genji (8:45:52 PM): "...Oh god no, we're dealing with a fucking ZOMBIE?"
Adler (8:46:02 PM): "...it means I'm an idiot, is what it means."
Brian (8:46:15 PM): Brian gave out a sigh of frustration. "I can't read through this goddamn blood. And what's with the way it was wadded up? I doubt this is how people hold their paper."
Adler (8:46:34 PM): Adler tries to remember what happened to that stone.
Peter (8:46:34 PM): "Hey, do you mind if I try somthing wiht those?" He held out his hands
Brian (8:47:02 PM): He shrugged, placing the paper in Peter's hands. "Knock yourself out."
Peter (8:47:36 PM): ((I'm going to try to improviwse a variation of Postcognition to see how somthing looked a few hours ago instead of seeing the place))
Adler (8:47:54 PM): //roll-dice6-sides10 OnlineHost (8:47:54 PM):
Adler rolled 6 10-sided dice: 6 4 1 9 3 9
Peter (8:48:04 PM): ((That work for you Arispe?))
Storyteller (8:48:09 PM): Yep.
Adler (8:48:10 PM): ((2 sux)) OnlineHost (8:48:18 PM):
Peter rolled 4 10-sided dice: 8 4 5 8
Peter (8:48:25 PM): ((2))
Genji (8:48:46 PM): "What do you mean, Adler?"
Adler (8:50:38 PM): "I'd bet money that the corpse we saw was just a mage faking his death," she shakes her head, holding up the rock they had found earlier.
Adler (8:50:47 PM): "At least we have a connection to him."
Adler (8:51:38 PM): Her voice is a little raspy, an unaviodable side effect of throwing up and an unusual amount of physical exercise
Genji (8:51:49 PM): Genji nods. "Ah, that makes more sense than a zombie, and is far less terrifying."
Peter (8:52:17 PM): He looked a bit dumbstruck. "Twins?"
Genji (8:52:17 PM): He visibly relaxes a bit. He wasn't really ready for the idea of fighting a dessicated corpse
Brian (8:52:38 PM): "...Twins? What?"
Peter (8:52:47 PM): "Hang on..."
Peter (8:53:20 PM): "Oh god..."
Peter (8:53:45 PM): "Ewwwwwwwwww....." He clenched his eys shut and held a hand up to cover his mouth as he went for the trash can, actually vomitting this time.
Adler (8:53:46 PM): "...we should get back to the others."
Adler (8:53:58 PM): ((Peter sense tingling!))
Peter (8:54:04 PM): "Oh god.....so ....so....ewwww...." He shut his eyes tightly, retchign again
Brian (8:54:26 PM): Brian stood up from beside the corpse. "...stand up. Be a man. Say what you saw."
Genji (8:56:26 PM): Genji nods, remaining alert for any horrible rotting stenches approaching as he escorts Adler back.
Peter (8:56:35 PM): "Someone came in and had an arguement, he looked like this guy. Then he said somthign like; 'Well, I guess I'll take yours then.' After that he tore of Lazerus' skin and
Peter (8:56:36 PM): swapped it for his own..." He fell on his rear, looking stressed, and looking very much on the ill side. "Oh god that's disgusting..."
Brian (8:57:39 PM): "...if they looked the same, why would he take the twin's face."
Peter (8:58:30 PM): "What would comple you to wear someone else's skin in the first place?" He shuddered. "HJis started rotting after he left too...oh yeah!" He started rifling through the wad of papers, looking for somthign that didn't belong
Storyteller (8:59:07 PM): In the center of the wad of papers, you find an electronic voice recorder.
Peter (8:59:31 PM): He clicked play
Storyteller (9:00:05 PM): What plays back is much what you heard in your postcognition, but with more details.
Storyteller (9:00:26 PM): The other guy was a Lich, and he had killed Lazarus's brother for his skin.
Storyteller (9:00:44 PM): Lazarus saw through the disguise because of a few stupid mistakes on the Lich's part.
Storyteller (9:00:59 PM): They argue some more.
Storyteller (9:01:18 PM): Then the Lich says "I guess I'll need your skin now. This one is breaking down."
Brian (9:01:32 PM): "So...he wasn't Lazarus's brother. Just someone that had killed the guy. This doesn't explain why he needed to look like Lazarus."
Storyteller (9:01:35 PM): And you hear the muffled rip of skin.
Storyteller (9:02:14 PM): "Les hope this one stays longer." the Lich says.
Storyteller (9:02:38 PM): Then you hear the rest of the postcognative vison.
Storyteller (9:03:42 PM): The recording cuts off.
Adler (9:04:04 PM): ((...and then it takes us like...4 hours to walk back to where they are x_x))
Storyteller (9:04:40 PM): (Any of you two have good time, space, or life and a willingness to run like the wind?)
Adler (9:04:58 PM): ((...I don't have space sufficient for teleportation))
Adler (9:06:15 PM): ((I could attempt to contact Peter, I suppose. I have a chance die))
Storyteller (9:06:31 PM): (You can always try. Or you can wait.)
Genji (9:07:34 PM): ((Genji could always carry Adler and use Life to make himself the fastest runner ever. XD))
Storyteller (9:07:51 PM): (Didn't I just suggest that?)
Genji (9:08:00 PM): ((You did!))
Genji (9:08:17 PM): ((I'm saying we go for it.))
Adler (9:08:28 PM): Adler fingers the coin in her pocket as they walk, twisting a few hairs that she lifted off of Peter during their 'year' in concentrated time between her fingers.
Peter (9:08:55 PM): ((O.O))
Peter (9:09:09 PM): ((That's cute...in a stalker-esque sort of way))
Genji (9:10:01 PM): ((O___o))
Adler (9:10:46 PM): ((She's a Mastigos, and it gives her a sympathetic link for space spells. Its like getting someone's phone-number and address, mage-style))
Brian (9:11:49 PM): ((Better than what else she could have used.))
Brian (9:12:06 PM): (("Tink? You know where my underwear went?" Adler: *blush*))
Adler (9:12:39 PM): ((Adler:"...that would be impractical to carry, and furthermore...no. Just no,"))
Storyteller (9:12:48 PM): (Anyways, roll that chance die...)
Adler (9:13:00 PM): //roll-dice1-sides10 OnlineHost (9:13:00 PM):
Adler rolled 1 10-sided die: 7
Adler (9:14:06 PM): The scratching of demonic claws on the immateriel threads of space and the faintest whisper of a clamor of voices whispers through Adler's mind before she quickly severs the attempted connection. "Damn."
Storyteller (9:15:43 PM): So running. With life, luck, and magic, you can cover the distance faster.
Brian (9:16:19 PM): Brian walked through the room, the sharpened end of his staff scraping along the floor. "Shit...shit shit shit. He needs to look like Lazarus...or like his brother. But why?"
Brian (9:16:33 PM): "What could Lazarus or his brother get into that no one else could?"
Brian (9:18:58 PM): "Adler's book would be able to tell us..."
Peter (9:19:16 PM): He nodded. "Wait for her then?"
Storyteller (9:19:19 PM): Feel free to roll int+composure if you want to try and remember before then. OnlineHost (9:20:03 PM):

Storyteller (9:21:24 PM): You rememer him, not the real him, mention a store.
Storyteller (9:21:31 PM): And meeting Abuelo.
Storyteller (9:21:47 PM): And owning a slaugher house.
Storyteller (9:22:26 PM): And something else.
Storyteller (9:22:34 PM): Meeting someone? You're not sure.
Storyteller (9:23:43 PM): Assuming you don't want to do anything else, we can assume that you all reconvene.
Peter (9:24:37 PM): ((I'm up for reconvening))
Storyteller (9:26:28 PM): So, suddenly in rushes Genji, carrying Adler?
Peter (9:27:03 PM): He quirked an eyebrow. "That's...interesting..."
Adler (9:28:22 PM): "...we figured it was the fastest way to get back here."
Peter (9:28:42 PM): "...'K..."
Peter (9:29:25 PM): ((Hey Arispe, how mean-spirited do you reckon Tink is?))
Genji (9:29:56 PM): "It worked, anyway." Genji let the girl down. "So, there's som bad shit going down. Adler?" OnlineHost (9:31:12 PM):
Storyteller rolled 1 2-sided die: 2
Adler (9:32:07 PM): "We found his...skin, I suppose. Followed a trail from there to the place where we found the first body, which was gone. Found a note that said 'Warn them about the Lich.'"
Brian (9:32:29 PM): "We're well ahead of you on that."
Peter (9:32:34 PM): Peter still looked a little dumbfounded. "So she rode him like an animal for god knows how long, get over it kid." As soon as she opened her mouth, you could see
Adler (9:32:35 PM): "I...no, you don't need to know that. I think that's about it."
Peter (9:32:40 PM): Peter's hands going to close around her and silence her, just a second too late did they arrive as his eyes went wide in horror and his face turned the deepest crimson.
Peter (9:32:44 PM): ((Gomen nasai DS))
Peter (9:34:16 PM): He mouthed wordlessly for a few seconds
Brian (9:34:36 PM): "The Lych killed this man. He magically strengthed the skin on his face and body, then tore it off easily."
Peter (9:34:56 PM): He nodded towards Bryan. "Wha-what he said..."
Brian (9:34:58 PM): "He apparantly had killed Lazarus's brother before coming here, but the skin was decaying too quickly. He needed Lazarus's skin as a replacement."
Adler (9:35:03 PM): If it were possible for a person's face to ignite from pure embarassment...actually, make that a combination of embarassment and fury. That is one hell of an icy death glare aimed at the fairy.
Brian (9:35:23 PM): "Now we're trying to figure out why the Lych needed to look like Lazarus or his brother."
Peter (9:36:08 PM): Fortunately, Tink was safely clasped in Peter's hands, nothign but the sounds of an infuriated little sprite came form them, needless to say, they weren't words directed
Peter (9:36:09 PM): at anyone in particular. "Y-yeah...we think it could have somthign to do with the...the slaughterhouse or Abuelo..." He stammered on.
Storyteller (9:39:37 PM): So, who asks the all important question?
Adler (9:39:43 PM): "...uhh..."
Adler (9:39:47 PM): "Where is he?"
Brian (9:40:57 PM): "Where is who? The Lych? That was what YOU were supposed to find out."
Adler (9:42:40 PM): "I meant Abuelo."
Brian (9:42:59 PM): "...he should have been here."
Adler (9:43:24 PM): "...my thought exactly. If he's not here, then WHERE."
Adler (9:44:39 PM): Meanwhile, Adler has been pretty much doing the Hinata finger-thing the entire time. Or some similar sort of fidget
Storyteller (9:44:41 PM): So going to ask the book?
Brian (9:45:07 PM): (hold on, gotta get the door)
Genji (9:50:56 PM): Genji has been standing there unphased for quite a bit. The damn fairy's comment didn't affect him much. All human beings were animals, after all.
Storyteller (9:53:33 PM): (Does Genji want to make a roll to get innuendo, or has it already gone out the door?)
Genji (9:55:06 PM): "(Meh, Genji GOT it, he just doesn't CARE.)
Genji (9:55:10 PM): (XD)
Storyteller (9:55:20 PM): (Ah.)
Storyteller (9:56:01 PM): (Also, does Raiden's line make anyone else think of some sort of ultrafemininst lich? Or is that just me?)
Brian (9:56:47 PM): ((Changes faces on a whim? Cares little for the feelings of men?))
Brian (9:56:50 PM): ((I think it counts.))
Storyteller (9:57:07 PM): (It was also male.)
Brian (9:57:27 PM): ((I think when you're taking pieces off of other people and putting it on your body, you gave up being any one gender.))
Storyteller (9:57:49 PM): (Well, anyone going to ask the question of the book?)
Brian (9:58:20 PM): Brian looked over to the book. "Book. Where would Abuelo be at this time of day, if his schedule was not interrupted."
Adler (9:58:32 PM): Adler pulls the book out, opening it so it can answer.
Storyteller (9:59:06 PM): It shows a map of the city, with a nice line showing you what tunnels to go down, and where to go from there.
Storyteller (9:59:23 PM): It ends with a red dot on the coast.
Brian (9:59:34 PM): "We need to head to that spot quickly, before the Lich can reach Abuelo. The thing already has a head start."
Peter (10:00:10 PM): "Is there a tall building anywhere nearby? If I can reach cloudcover and accelerate myself through the air, I can reach him quickly."
Storyteller (10:00:39 PM): It shows you how to get close to the Wells Fargo skyscraper.
Peter (10:00:58 PM): "Meet you there?"
Adler (10:01:22 PM): "...you have to go alone?"
Peter (10:01:44 PM): "Well I can't accelerate everyone"
Adler (10:02:24 PM): "Right...I suppose that means I wind up getting carried around again, doesn't it?"
Adler (10:03:12 PM): //roll-dice6-sides10 OnlineHost (10:03:12 PM):
Adler rolled 6 10-sided dice: 7 10 10 7 4 2
Adler (10:03:27 PM): //roll-dice2-sides10 OnlineHost (10:03:27 PM):
Adler rolled 2 10-sided dice: 9 7
Peter (10:03:52 PM): He blushed. "Tink, go with Brian and Ken, come get me if anything goes wrong." "What am I, you're sla-" She got cut off as Peter's finger waved assertively
Peter (10:03:53 PM): in her face. "Shut it Tink, and just do what I ask for once!" He sighed. "You guys get running, I'll carry Addler with me so she can keep me on course."
Adler (10:04:17 PM): ((Adler, in effect, knocks on Peter's head and asks "can I come in for a sec?"))
Peter (10:04:25 PM): ((Hai?))
Adler (10:05:13 PM): (("Uhm...actually, never mind. I was going to say something, but if I'm going to go with you, I can just talk out loud once we
Adler (10:05:18 PM): 're alone."))
Peter (10:05:26 PM): (("Oh...ok"))
Peter (10:06:08 PM): He looked at Bryan and Ken. "That plan ok with you guys? We'll all get there as fast as we can. I'd take one of you to help with fighting, but I don't think I can carry either of you"
Adler (10:06:50 PM): Adler kinda...gives the mental equivelent of a blush, smile, and the start of a tentative hand reach as the mental contact fades.
Peter (10:07:30 PM): Tink grumbled and flew over to sit on Ken's head, sticking her tounge out at Bryan's familiar
Brian (10:07:55 PM): Equan simply stared at the fairy, reminding the little familiar that it resembled a bug too much to be teasing a hawk.
Peter (10:08:30 PM): "We all good on the plan then?"
Adler (10:08:50 PM): Adler nods, in lieu of saying anything
Brian (10:09:08 PM): "Sounds good to me."
Peter (10:10:11 PM): "Cool, get in Ken's car and meet us when you can" His hand tightly grabbed onto Addler's as he began to dash off towards where he thought the book had said to go,
Peter (10:10:12 PM): turning out to be incorrect and quickly turning aorund as Addler presumably corrected him
Brian (10:10:18 PM): Brian's back suddenly arched as electricity coursed through his body, traveling down and pushing against the ground, lifting him up into the air.
Peter (10:10:48 PM): ((Levitate I assume?))
Brian (10:10:51 PM): A piece of rope slid out from around his waist, the length he used as a belt held in his hand. With a quick toss he wrapped it around Genji's waist.
Genji (10:10:52 PM): Ken rolled his eyes and made for his car. "Safe flying!"
Brian (10:10:53 PM): (Yep.)
Peter (10:11:04 PM): ((Bleh, icky slow))
Genji (10:11:05 PM): ((Oh dear.))
Brian (10:11:12 PM): "No time for car. Mush, Genji."
Genji (10:11:27 PM): He then stopped as a length of rope went around him. "...Oh hell no."
Peter (10:11:45 PM): (XD)
Peter (10:11:58 PM): ((Ari, let me know when me and Addler get to the top of the skyscraper))
Brian (10:12:03 PM): His spear staff sparkled with electricity in the gem. "You can run faster than a car can drive. Levitate will let me float in time with you. And if you want your backside to remain uncharred, you best start running."
Genji (10:12:28 PM): Ken grit his teeth and set off at a Gazelle's pace, swearing under his breath all the while.
Storyteller (10:12:32 PM): (You get there about now.)
Peter (10:12:42 PM): Tink began to crack up with laughter as she grabbed onto Ken's hair to hold herself to him
Peter (10:13:45 PM): ((Cool, I'm burnign a mana form the Fairy dust to cast flight on myself, and then I'm gonna pick Addler up and start flying towards the beach, I'll burn myself out on mana for Accelerate, marking off my 15 points))
Storyteller (10:14:10 PM): (You get there fast. Presumably, Adler has a few rounds to say what she wants too.)
Peter (10:14:12 PM): ((Aiming into the cloud-cover as quickly as I can and then flying out))
Adler (10:15:03 PM): Adler...ahh...there's no real dignified way to say it. She pretty much clings to Peter once they are off the ground. Ever so slightly scared.
Peter (10:15:16 PM): Glittering sparkles in the air trailing like mad behind him, Peter held Addler tightly against himself as he squinted in the wind. "So, you had somthing to say?" He was shouting a little so she could hear him
Brian (10:16:37 PM): ((PIZZA HERE! *runs*))
Genji (10:16:46 PM): ((YAY PIZZA!))
Adler (10:17:18 PM): Adler whimpers slightly, "That's a long way down." Her grip tightens, and her eyes are closed. "Uhh...well...uhmm..."
Peter (10:17:24 PM): ((Yayzoprz for pizza!))
Peter (10:18:33 PM): He grinned. "I'm not gonna drop you, besides, with jsut a pinch of fairy dust youc ould do it too. All you have to do is believe." He tentatively took one arm off of her
Peter (10:18:34 PM): as he spiralled so if she fell he was still under her. He reached into his back pocket for hte pouch of fairy dust again and handed it to her. "Just sprinkle some on yourself."
Peter (10:18:46 PM): ((The pouch will look empty unless you put a mana into it))
Adler (10:21:12 PM): "Huh?" She looks at the pouch for a moment, then at Peter...and then shoves all the little doubts gnawing her brain to the back of her head, closes her eyes, and reaches in to grab a pinch.
Adler (10:21:56 PM): ((...compared to what she's trying to get out, trusting someone about magic is pretty easy for someone that can do it herself. Thank goodness.))
Peter (10:22:24 PM): ((Lol. If you spend a point of mana, there'll be a pinch of dust in there for the Flight Spell))
Storyteller (10:23:13 PM): (Belief = Mana in this case)
Adler (10:23:42 PM): ((heh. And there is, of course. Leaps of faith are a Sphinx's stock in trade))
Peter (10:23:43 PM): (( Belief = Peter's very screwed up ideas about how magic works))
Adler (10:24:05 PM): ((There is also the fact that Adler has most likely figured THAT out by now.))
Adler (10:25:44 PM): She sprinkles the dust and forces herself to let go a little, no longer grabbing quite as desperatly, "Uhmm...well...what I was trying to say is..." she pauses, taking a deep breath and gathering up her courage.
Storyteller (10:25:45 PM): (After you finish talking, you guys get there, for everyone's reference. At the Red Dot fishing pier)
Brian (10:26:21 PM): ((Brian is already there, tying up Genji to a fire hydrant outside.))
Adler (10:26:55 PM): "IthinkIlikeyoualotandIhopeyoulikemetooandthat'swhyIwassoembarassedandcanyoudosomethingaboutTinkshe'sawfulsometimeswhyisshelikethat." Wow, she COULD blush more than she was in the hallway.
Peter (10:27:24 PM): He smiled as he saw her start to drift out, letting her fly for a moment before he pulled her back since he was still going super-fast. "See, besides, you don't have
Peter (10:27:25 PM): to worry. No matter the reason, I'll always protect you." He stopped a second abruptly in the sky as his brain processed everyting.
Adler (10:30:56 PM): "...uhmm...anyway...that's..." Adler swung out across the sky, some of her momentum continuing as Peter skidded to a halt.
Peter (10:31:41 PM): He started flying again, his face beet red. "Umm...I...." He chewed his lip, visably nervous. "Oh, there's the site, hang on tight, I'd hate it if the dust wore off when we drop out of the clouds, I'm heading down..."
Peter (10:31:54 PM): ((And the two chibi-mages arrive))
Adler (10:32:18 PM): ((brilliant))
Storyteller (10:33:04 PM): You get there. Abuelo is sitting on the far end of the pier, fishing. He's talking with a guy in a black suit.
Peter (10:33:34 PM): HE took a deep breath. "ABUELO! DON'T LET HIM TAKE YOUR SKIN!!!"
Peter (10:34:07 PM): (Peter Pan: Social Finesse - 0)
Adler (10:34:14 PM): Adler lands seperatly, and slightly clumsily, and almost facefaults when Peter yells.
Storyteller (10:34:33 PM): Both of the men jolt, surprised, and turn to look at the yelling Peter. They then shrug their sholders, and the guy in the suit walks towards you.
Storyteller (10:35:22 PM): Abuelo is still fishing calmly.
Brian (10:35:24 PM): Brian was heading right for Abuelo, ignoring the man in black.
Storyteller (10:36:10 PM): The man in the black suit has a Shatner mask on as he scolds Peter for yelling.
Storyteller (10:36:19 PM): He then walks off into the city.
Brian (10:36:52 PM): "Abuelo. Good to see you still with skin."
Storyteller (10:37:06 PM): "Oh?" the aged man replies.
Storyteller (10:38:46 PM): "Why do you say that?"
Peter (10:39:14 PM): "Ummm...." He looked very confused as Tink flew back towards him. She looked at the two, noting their blushes. "Oh, great. Dumb finally realised he met dumber."
Peter (10:39:15 PM): "Shut it Tink." He walked past, raising his hand and flicking at her. She looked absolutely agahst as Peter walked towards Abuelo.
Brian (10:39:46 PM): "Because Lazarus seems to be short a face."
Peter (10:40:06 PM): "Bryan, how do we know he didn't already get skin-jacked?"
Storyteller (10:40:07 PM): Abuelo bolts up "WHAT?"
Brian (10:40:51 PM): "We found Lazarus in the underground offices. His face and other skin parts was gone."
Brian (10:41:05 PM): "From what we've found, the man that did it had gotten to his brother first, but that skin was decaying too quickly."
Brian (10:41:31 PM): "According to a journal we found, it was a Lich. And Lazarus was expecting him."
Storyteller (10:42:04 PM): Abuelo turns absolutely ashen. "Did you hear the name of the Lich or see his face?"
Brian (10:42:41 PM): "The only face we saw was that of Lazarus and his brother. This Lich...he's not wanting to be seen in anything else."
Storyteller (10:43:35 PM): "Lazarus's bother I can see. He was an asshole that liked to blackmail people. But why Lazarus?"
Brian (10:44:42 PM): "Didn't seem to be anything personal. The Lich simply needed a fresh face, and Lazarus is identical in looks to his brother."
Storyteller (10:44:51 PM): "I can't think of any, unless that, but why?" he jumps around in thought out loud.
Brian (10:45:17 PM): "The original face was decaying too quickly. And for some reason, he needed to look like one of those twins."
Storyteller (10:46:04 PM): "Well, Lazarus did know the late Archmage very well. And the Archmage did have a lot of enemies. I wonder..."
Brian (10:47:01 PM): "...you said Lazarus's brother blackmailed people, right?"
Adler (10:47:04 PM): "What about that other dead mage we found? The one whose corpse disappeared?"
Storyteller (10:47:23 PM): "Yes, Javier did that. And what corpse?"
Brian (10:47:56 PM): "...there's a strong chance that it might not have anything specifically to do with the Archmage. If the Lich needed to be like Lazarus, he would have gone after him first. To get him out of the way."
Brian (10:48:09 PM): "He went after Javier, though. And only went after Lazarus when Javier's face was too worn to use."
Brian (10:48:29 PM): "Maybe...the Lich is related to something Javier was doing, and Lazarus was merely an extra resource."
Storyteller (10:48:48 PM): "It could very well be."
Storyteller (10:49:01 PM): "But, who was this corpse you found?"
Storyteller (10:50:52 PM): "Or do you not know?"
Adler (10:53:08 PM): "Probably the reason that the Lich was here in the first place."
Storyteller (10:53:24 PM): "Oh?"
Adler (10:54:45 PM): "Uhmm...the Lazarus we met nearby, I dunno if it was actually the lich or not, said his name was Jesus. ((she pronounces it correctly, of course.)) We figured out that he was intending to initiate as a Tremere."
Storyteller (10:56:23 PM): Abuelo pales for a bit. "Oh? This is indeed grave. Do you know what killed him?"
Brian (10:57:04 PM): "His skin was magically toughened. Then it was easily pulled off by hand...while he was still alive."
Storyteller (10:57:45 PM): "This gets worse and worse. Was there anything normal that you found?" he asks hopefully.
Brian (10:58:02 PM): "A notebook...some mints and random items..." OnlineHost (10:58:05 PM):
Peter rolled 2 10-sided dice: 4 4 OnlineHost (10:58:14 PM):
Peter rolled 4 10-sided dice: 6 7 6 3
Storyteller (10:58:28 PM): (Diebot haet Nacht.)
Peter (10:58:35 PM): ((Damn, failure.))
Brian (11:00:06 PM): "And a bunch of papers wadded up in a strange way."
Storyteller (11:00:19 PM): "Was there something in the papers?"
Adler (11:01:25 PM): ((...has adler looked at those yet?))
Peter (11:01:36 PM): He shook his head. "Nah, nothign there." OnlineHost (11:01:43 PM):
Peter rolled 4 10-sided dice: 5 6 10 5
Storyteller (11:01:44 PM): ( I don't believe so.)
Brian (11:01:48 PM): "Too bloody to read, though the way they were wadded might mean something." OnlineHost (11:01:49 PM):
Peter rolled 1 10-sided die: 1
Peter (11:04:00 PM): "So, how was the crab you caught earlier?"
Adler (11:04:01 PM): "Is there a way any of us could get a glimpse of them before they were covered in blood?"
Storyteller (11:04:34 PM): "It was close, but, I'm afraid it got away." He smiles at you.
Storyteller (11:04:48 PM): "Do you fish here often?"
Peter (11:05:23 PM): He shook his head as he pulled out the tape recorder. "We found this in the bloody papers, maybe you'll recognize a voice on it?" He held it out towards Abuelo
Storyteller (11:06:31 PM): Abuelo reaches out for the thing, fumbles around with it then manages to get it to play. When the lich speaks he pales "I know that voice. It seems that this lich is a grand impersonator."
Peter (11:06:51 PM): "?"
Storyteller (11:07:14 PM): "He managed, very well, Javier's voice."
Storyteller (11:07:56 PM): "It's strange that someone with such skill at impersonation would make the basic mistakes that he does in this recording."
Brian (11:08:03 PM): "What mistakes?"
Peter (11:08:34 PM): "Maybe he's not actually a good impersonator and he's just Majiking his way into a good job?"
Storyteller (11:09:09 PM): "Well, according to this tape, he was wearing one of Lazarus's suits. Javier hated the things. He also didn't smell of cinnamon as Javier often did."
Brian (11:10:00 PM): "So that's why Lazarus didn't fall for it...Abuelo. I think I might know a way to hear the man's real voice. After all, he's simply impersonating."
Brian (11:10:07 PM): "Would you be willing to attempt it with me?"
Storyteller (11:10:18 PM): "I would, if only to calm my fears."
Brian (11:12:09 PM): Brian held up the Recorder close enough for both he and Abuelo to hear. He then began to speak in Atlantean, to give power to his spell and for a sense of tension.
Brian (11:12:29 PM): [Abuelo. When I cast the rote, our minds will be connected for a few moments. You'll hear what I hear, which should be the true voice of the Lich.]
Brian (11:13:04 PM): [However, when I do spells like this, my...my Father attempts to enter my mind. And since you'll be connected...Uranus will attempt to break into yours as well. Please, be prepared.]
Peter (11:13:04 PM): He nudged Adler and pointed at Bryan. "What's all that gibberish about?"
Storyteller (11:13:08 PM): [Alright. I will try and identify him.]
Brian (11:14:00 PM): Brian pressed a button on the recorder, letting the audio play. As he did, a small stream of pure Aether shot between the two men's foreheads, connecting their consciousnesses into one.
Brian (11:14:32 PM): As the words came out of the recorder, Brian's casted spell let him hear the subtle changes in voice. The way the imitator forced his vocal chords into an unnatural position to change his voice.
Brian (11:14:48 PM): The Lich's true voice was heard to Brian and Abuelo. And, as usual, the voice of another...
Storyteller (11:15:43 PM): Abuelo mutters [Ye intruder, out. I must focus and you distract me.]
Brian (11:16:06 PM): The audio continued, until it finally ended with the sound of tearing flesh.
Brian (11:17:08 PM): "And that is that. Do you recognize the voice, Abuelo?"
Storyteller (11:17:29 PM): "I heard enough to know that it is a voice foreign to me."
Brian (11:18:13 PM): "Then we can rule out anyone you might have met."
Storyteller (11:18:14 PM): "It is unknown to me. That is not entirely a bad thing though."
Adler (11:18:24 PM): "S'high speach. Language of the Supernal realms." she whispers back to Peter
Peter (11:18:37 PM): "Oh...ok..."
Adler (11:19:12 PM): "I can teach you it, if you want. It's pretty easy to learn, and it can help prevent things from going wrong."
Peter (11:19:45 PM): "Umm....K...it sounds complicated though..." He stepped to one side, shying away form Adler a bit
Storyteller (11:20:31 PM): "Hrm. I can not think of any other reas... Unless... but surely nobody would be foolish enough to believe that rumor." Abuleo mutters.
Brian (11:20:46 PM): "What rumor, Abuelo?"
Storyteller (11:21:55 PM): "Well, there was a rumor that the Archmage had intrusted some artifact of power into the hands of Lazarus. But most of the rumors were outrageous in naming the thing."
Brian (11:22:36 PM): "If Lazarus had the artifact, why not just take it from him? Why take his face?"
Storyteller (11:22:38 PM): "And besides, I think the only think of the Archmage's that Lazarus had was an old scrap book."
Storyteller (11:23:28 PM): "Lazarus was a little paranoid. It was unlikely that he'd carry it around or have it easily gotten to without his aid."
Adler (11:23:37 PM): "...what did the scrapbook look like?"
Storyteller (11:24:13 PM): Abuelo goes on to describe, almost exactly, The Last Work of Alan Tax.
Brian (11:24:28 PM): "......"
Storyteller (11:24:33 PM): Obviously, he had seen it earlier in its life.
Brian (11:24:47 PM): "Abuelo. Do you have a safe place to stay?"
Storyteller (11:25:00 PM): "Yes. Of course."
Brian (11:25:13 PM): "Go there. Let no one near you, and trust no one."
Storyteller (11:25:25 PM): "What?"
Brian (11:25:47 PM): "You know about the book. You're a next likely target when that Lich realizes that the book he searches for...is no longer where it originally was."
Peter (11:26:06 PM): "Take Bryan with you. He can protect ytou and he can send his hawk to fly if there's trouble and get the rest of us."
Adler (11:26:16 PM): "The Archmage did leave things behind, related to destroying the beast that stalks the supernaturals around here."
Peter (11:26:39 PM): "Guys? What if this 'Lich' is the thinjg?"
Brian (11:26:57 PM): "The book said that the Lich wasn't the Beast."
Storyteller (11:27:05 PM): "Well, then Bryan, we shall go whenever you are ready."
Brian (11:27:08 PM): "...then again. We might have asked it wrong."
Peter (11:27:08 PM): "What if the book's wrong?"
Brian (11:27:37 PM): "That will work. I'll go with Abuelo, and make certain that he is safe. Peter and Genji, the both of you will escort Adler back to the Safehouse."
Peter (11:27:38 PM): "If I was that thing, I'd want to burn down everything Mr. Tax had anythign to do with."
Peter (11:27:47 PM): "And it seems a hell of a lot trickier and smarter than I am."
Brian (11:28:54 PM): "Once Abuelo is set and I've assured that he'll be safe, I'll meet with you as soon as I can, and we'll decide what to do from there."
Peter (11:30:37 PM): He nodded a bit. "Should we really take Adler and the book back to the safehouse?"
Peter (11:30:53 PM): "If this guy is trying to get his hand on Tax's stuff, he'll eventually find out abotu the safehouse, won't he?"
Brian (11:31:13 PM): "Better to be in familiar territory when you're being hunted than in a strange place."
Storyteller (11:31:18 PM): "Ah, excuse me, but what's this about a safehouse?"
Peter (11:31:29 PM): "Well...I think...I think I know a safe place"
Brian (11:31:31 PM): "No offense, Abuelo, but we can't tell you that."
Storyteller (11:31:49 PM): "Is this Tax's house outside the city, near the farms?"
Peter (11:32:23 PM): "Especially sicne he's already been out there and left those weird circles for us."
Storyteller (11:32:29 PM): "Becuase if it is, I imagine that would be the first place the Lich would look."
Storyteller (11:32:34 PM): "Wait, circles?"
Peter (11:32:56 PM): "Yeah, weird rune-y things."
Peter (11:33:04 PM): "Lookled like poison ivy"
Brian (11:33:39 PM): "With dead pigs in the center. I broke up a few of the circles, though."
Storyteller (11:34:17 PM): "Indeed. Did you find a corpse that was completely exangunated?"
Peter (11:34:26 PM): "I think I should take Adler and the last Work to a safe place I know. We can get in contact later and check in. I don't even really know the place sort-of, so I don't think anyone else could either?
Brian (11:35:38 PM): "Yes, we found a corpse like that. And how will we check in?"
Peter (11:36:28 PM): "I'll tell you when we're nto next to Abuelo." He gestured to Bryan
Storyteller (11:36:42 PM): "Hrm, I'll need to do some research, and send someone to photograph the places. Shall we be off?"
Brian (11:37:07 PM): "Alright then. Lead the way, Abuelo."
Peter (11:37:20 PM): "Hang on a minute Bryan, come over this way." He walked a bit away.
Storyteller (11:37:35 PM): "I'll wait for you at the end of the pier."
Brian (11:37:41 PM): Brian gave a frustrated sigh. "One moment, please." He turned to follow Peter.
Peter (11:38:58 PM): "I still don't know if we can entirely trust Abuelo. I only glimpsed an hour back, and a Lich could've done the same thing. Take Ken wiht you and both of you
Peter (11:38:58 PM): watch him. Tomorrow at noon, send Ken to the library we found the Work at. I'll bring Adler with me there and we'll check in wiht Ken, after that Ken can go check with you back at Abuelo's."
Brian (11:39:40 PM): "No. Ken goes with you and Adler. No offense, Peter, but I think this might be just a bit beyond what you can handle."
Brian (11:39:52 PM): "Especially since you two still retch at the sight of blood."
Peter (11:40:03 PM): "Then who's watching Abuelo while you come to meet us?"
Brian (11:40:27 PM): "I'll secure Abuelo and make certain that he's protected while I'm gone."
Peter (11:40:30 PM): "Besides, who's better at running away i a hurry than me?"
Brian (11:41:03 PM): "After all. Abuelo is quite possibly more powerful than he lets on. If something happens, there's a good chance he'll be protecting me."
Peter (11:41:34 PM): "Alright. Send your Hawk to the highest point at the college if anythign happens, ok?"
Brian (11:41:50 PM): "Understood. I'll meet you three tomorrow at noon."
Peter (11:42:01 PM): He nodded. "Ken, Adler, let's go"
Brian (11:42:16 PM): Brian turned to walk after Abuelo, his spear staff clicking against the ground as he walked.
Genji (11:42:42 PM): Ken nods and follows.
Storyteller (11:42:45 PM): Abuelo asks Brian "If you were the Lich, how would you go about finding that book?"
Brian (11:44:22 PM): Brian looks down at Abuelo. "If I were a Lich, and as such, lazy but wanting instant power...I'd have other people do the work for me."
Storyteller (11:44:50 PM): "Ah. Quite different from how I see the Lich doing it."
Brian (11:45:08 PM): "Oh? Well, the elderly do have knowledge I do not. How would YOU see the Lich doing it?"
Adler (11:45:13 PM): Adler trails after Genji and Peter, going over a potential adaption of a combination of rituals to form a warding spell.
Storyteller (11:45:43 PM): "As someone who has abandoned any pretense of morality, I'd get the body of the Archmage and use it as a component in a ritual to find the book and any other important works of him."
Storyteller (11:46:19 PM): "After all, if you devour others souls for a little more time, is there anything left that is taboo?"
Adler (11:46:44 PM): Adler walks slightly faster to catch up with the other two. "I want to get a ward up on myself and the book, to make it harder to find us."
Brian (11:47:00 PM): "Oh? But the body of the Archmage was devoured by the beast, was it not?"
Adler (11:47:09 PM): ((...uhh...who has the Shotgun-o-doom?))
Peter (11:47:11 PM): He nodded. "That sounds like a good idea, Ken, do you know where your car is?"
Brian (11:47:17 PM): ((It's still at the safehouse.))
Adler (11:47:42 PM): ((Fuck damnit. I can't even grab it. I'd need Matter 2))
Storyteller (11:47:56 PM): "Partially. And the last part of his body was cemated and put into the sea. So, if the Lich acts like I think, then he'd be quite disappointed."
Storyteller (11:49:03 PM): "Now, my little safe place is going to take us into the hospital. Do you have any problems with that?"
Adler (11:49:40 PM): "...what about the shotgun? I mean, I don't think there is any way he could know about it, but still..."
Brian (11:49:58 PM): "No problems at all."
Peter (11:50:10 PM): "We can go get it."
Adler (11:50:15 PM): "Wait. Who was the guy behind the camera in the tape Alan left us?"
Adler (11:50:46 PM): Adler runs it over in her mind, trying to figure out if it matches any of the other people she's heard so far.
Storyteller (11:50:49 PM): "Very well then. Let us depart." And Abuelo walks toward Spohn hospital.
Brian (11:51:01 PM): Brian follows, his spear staff clicking as always.
Adler (11:51:44 PM): ((That's a question at the ST, by the way. Can I tell if the voice I heard in the tape matches anyone else I've met?))
Storyteller (11:52:26 PM): (Nah, doesn't sound anything like Bolneze.)
Adler (11:53:35 PM): ((or Lazarus, for that matter, right?))
Storyteller (11:54:16 PM): (Well, Lazarus sounds like Lazarus.)
Storyteller (11:55:14 PM): (But otherwise, no.)
Adler (11:55:23 PM): ((right, forgot that you gave us that name))
Adler (11:56:22 PM): "Right. Shotgun, then safe place. Then I want to do a ritual to ward people from scrying..."
Peter (11:56:51 PM): "I'll take you to the safe place so you can start your ritual, Ken, get the shotgun and meet us at the college, ok?"
Adler (11:57:59 PM): "I'm gonna need a few things...but I think I can snag them on the way."
Peter (11:58:58 PM): He nodded and then his face went white. "Oh, I guess you haven't seen your parents in a year..." Sunday, September 02, 2007
Storyteller (12:01:40 AM): When Genji gets to the safehouse he finds that the place has been ransacked.
Brian (12:03:31 AM): (Is sparda alive?)
Storyteller (12:03:43 AM): (I dunno)
Adler (12:03:58 AM): "...ya..."
Peter (12:06:00 AM): Peter took Adler back by her house. "I'll wait here across the street I guess...you want me to hang onto the book?"
Adler (12:06:15 AM): "Four days to them..."
