Lucius Marius Fimbria (Nova Roma)

Lucius Marius Fimbria

Lucius Marius Fimbria, also known as Lucius Marius Peregrinus, was a citizen of Nova Roma from 1998 to Apr 26 2001. He was known ab initio as a moderating influence on the Nova Roma mailing-list, but later as a key member of an increasingly visible dissident wing. After a series of unpalatable actions by the censores, Marius resigned his citizenship and, along with some friends - many of them members of the amici dignitatis - formed the Societas Via Romana, where he is now known as Aldus Marius Peregrinus.

Lucius Marius Fimbria (draft)

[This is a draft of the LMF bio page for the Nova Roma Wiki.]

Lucius Marius Fimbria came to Nova Roma in Iul of MMDCCVI, mere months after the Founding. He brought with him the experiences and ideas of seven years as a solo Roman-about-town; having "come into the Heritage" (as he puts it) at the end of the Gulf War, he had spent the interval--in college and in the military, at Renaissance Faires and SCA events, and in other venues ranging from a homeless shelter to a season as a Little League mascot--teaching, sharing the fierce joy of his newfound Romanitas, and helping others to discover theirs. A roleplayer for over 15 years, he created the historical-fantasy gameworld of Roma Subterranea; and he got out of a computer-science final by authoring a Web site, The Roman Outpost, whose origins and content strongly reflected his trademark spirit of playful inquiry.
