Jace Belden is, for lack of a better term, the wandering mercenary gypsy who raised Taiya. After his mother's death (due to illness), he struck out on his own convinced that a life of adventure and complete freedom was better than anything he'd find rooted in place. He adopted/befriended the gypsy girl soon thereafter, and the two became their own sort of family over the 9 years they were together. It was this close connection to Taiya that resulted in Jace's death at the hands of Blackbird 7.

Jace is rough, sarcastic, protective, and easy-going. He is very firm about what he chooses to believe and very focused in his actions. He can come off as rather intimidating since he refuses to hold back for anyone and can appear very gruff or dangerous. But he is still the more mature, polite, and interactive one between Taiya and himself.

Random

  • Jace swears like every third or forth word. Usually some variation on the word 'fuck'.
  • Jace is excellent in almost all forms of physical combat, as he was where Taiya learned to fight. He specializes with his knives.
  • Jace is a chain smoker. Figures when he dies, it'll be from something much worse than bad lungs, so why not?
  • It's because Jace has no siblings and hasn't seen his pirate father since he was 6 that he was able to venture out on his own after his mother's death.

Secrets

The big obvious one?

Powers

Jace doesn't have any Majik abilities, but he's still a mean fighter and is very adaptable, even when fighting against Majik.

Connections

Because he spent much of his life traveling, Jace has met more people than he can remember. Generally speaking, though, those people are irrelevant to the storyline.
