Appearance/Clothing
Jacob is fairly tall for his age and stands at a mildly impressive 6'2. Over the years his outward appearance has slowly been changed and sculpted by the power of his unnatural affliction. His body appears to be a perfect compromise between speed and strength, his frame well muscled and strong, but not overly so. In some twisted way it's as if someone has taken the time to perfectly sculpt his body to remain between the extremes of speed and strength, sadly this is not all that far from the truth.
Jacob was originally born with red hair the color of freshly spilt blood. While he hated it as a young child, he didn't have to endure it for long. Once Jacob began to regularly feed himself on the energy and souls of others, and absorbed more and more shards of the parasite into his body, his hair changed to midnight black coloration. Jacob's hair is now extremely long, and reaches to the base of his back. He has attempted to cut it from time to time, only to find that it grows back to the same exact length within a matter of days. Given the inconvenience he would have to endure to keep his hair shorter, Jacob has readily embraced it in its long state.
His eyes are also a very unique amethyst color. While there are several other students in the school that share the same eye color as himself, his are strangely complex in their patterns. If one were to look closely enough, it would be very easy to see the finely crafted detail held within each eye, almost to the point that they seem completely unreal. They also seem to hold a very hard sense to them, as if they actually are crafted from true amethysts, and he always appears to be detached or cold even when he is in fact paying very careful attention to a certain situation.
Jacob enjoys wearing all sorts of clothing. He owns everything from some very fine suits to some incredibly worn-out and old jeans that he has had for ages. Normally he will simply wear casual clothing, comfortable and easy to move in, but still nice enough to take notice of. He also holds very closely to the rule of wearing uniforms at school, but often loosens the mandatory tie from around his neck until it practically hangs limp around his neck. If somebody were to ask him why he has such a habit of doing this, he might make a cryptic response about having been hanged from the gallows in a past life.
Every now and then a white streak will appear in the front of Jacob's hair, a very visible sign that he has not fed from anyone in quite some time. If he ignores this sign and continues to resist the urge to drain others of their energy, the parasite begins to feed on Jacob himself. This can lead to very visible outward signs. In short, Jacob will gradually appear to become increasingly ill, and to be in a general state of bad health. If he feeds, this can change almost instantly and he will quickly regain his former outward appearance.
Personality
Jacob often prefers to keep to himself most of the time, as he is keenly aware that most of his fellow students don’t think in the same way that he does, and that even fewer of them appear to be interested in the same things that happen to motivate him. It is very rare for Jacob to make a friend or acquaintance by accident, as he always measures how much every relationship may or may not be valuable to him. He is very practical and calculating most of the time, but Jacob can also be frustratingly impulsive when the right set of circumstances arises.
Most of the time, Jacob will appear to be very civil and polite to most people, if not a bit short or sarcastic in his remarks. He often comes off as dangerous despite his best efforts, and has been confronted about his motivations on several occasions. In truth Jacob normally prefers to play his cards close, and to not reveal anything about himself too quickly in one way or another. It gives him far more control of the process if nobody has any idea of what to make of him. He can also be very quick to rise to physical confrontation if forced to do so, or if the parasite compels him to take violent action in a moment of weakness.
He has fed from a number of AHS students in the past, but now does his best to hunt outside of the student population, if only to stay out of trouble. Still, he has terrorized some of his classmates, and shows very little, if any, guilt over the incidents. He does what he has to do to survive, and rather than shun the burden of his powers, he embraces the inherent darkness he has found within them and himself. His morals are often flexible and open to change, saving people one moment and killing those he views as monsters, and then viciously feeding and causing harm the next. While he may appear to be very unstable to some, he maintains as much control over himself and his urges as can be expected. He can be a very valuable friend in many ways, or a horrendous enemy if it suits him.
Special Powers/Weapons
The Parasite:
The creature that now inhabits Jakes body has the ability to phase in and out of organic matter, which is how it hides so easily inside of its host. The parasite can defend its host by generating a series of long black tentacles right through the hosts skin. To feed, the parasite can fuse one or many of the tentacles into the body of another person simply by shifting them through the skin.
This of course requires that the victim be restrained in some manner. The victim will often feel tired or weak after being drained, or even pass out from exhaustion. Death is impossible, as the parasite naturally stops feeding when the energy dwindles down to the point that the victim passes out.
If the victim fights the drain it is amazingly painful and excruciating, and it makes it harder to actually acquire that bit of life energy from the victim in question, but if the person is willing the process can almost be like a high as they are connected to the parasites purely instinctual mind during the feeding. To put it simply, it is freedom from all the problems and petty worries of life, if even just for a moment.
After a person has been fed on they will be connected with the host for a short period of time, never any longer than a week. The closer they are to him the more easily they will be able to feel the weight of Jacobs emotions, and the easier it will be for Jacob to feel theirs as well. This offers no real control of a person, especially if they don't happen to give a damn about how he feels. The more energy he takes the stronger and faster he becomes. The current maximum reach of the tentacles is 15ft when normal, and up to 20ft if it has recently fed in the last several hours.
There are many drawbacks to the parasite though. Firstly, if it is not fed it will begin to draw on the life of the host, just as it has been for years with Jacob. It can make the host sick, tired, and constantly exhausted. If fed too much the parasite will grow too strong and force the host to continue feeding until they are either dead, or have somehow been restrained or knocked unconscious. It is not all that difficult to disable the parasite, all that is required is to damage its tentacles or the host enough so that it withdraws to protect itself or rest.
The Parasite Sword:
The sword effectively joins with the parasite power, as the parasite is the organic half of the sword itself. Just like the parasite before it, the sword rests directly inside Jacob when not in use, and simply phases out through him when needed. The blade has physical properties similar to titanium when it comes to the strength and weight of its metal edges. The sword is completely unbreakable unless confronted by the power of some other mystical sword, and if broken will simply retreat inside Jacob and heal itself. If it is damaged, all the sword needs is time to recover, and cannont be completely destroyed unless the user is killed.
Just like the parasite, the sword can phase into organic material without actually causing physical damage, and it can then absorb energy from that person to feed itself and provide the host with extra energy. With the sword this energy is more clearly defined as being the by-product of the beings soul. The energy can be drained down until all that remains is the beings core energy, at which point they will either be completely exhausted or pass out.
The only way to completely take a being's soul is to actually kill them with the sword, which can only be done with character permission. In this case the soul is either absorbed by the sword itself as nothing more than a temporary food supply, or part of the soul's memories and personality quirks become a part of Jacob. This does not include powers, only some of the person’s knowledge. For instance weapon skills, language, art talents, computer skills, ect.
The host’s body remains at a constant state of x4 strength, speed, stamina, and reflexes, meaning that he is exactly four times as strong and fast as he would be if he were an average athletic 18-year-old male. The sword gives him this ability particularly so that its host can use and wield the heavy weapon. With an abundance of absorbed energy from victims his strength and speed can be pushed up to x5 temporarily, and only for the thread he is currently in at the time of having absorbed the energy in the first place.
The sword can also exude tentacles in the same manner as Jacob himself, which can be used in a similar fashion to those of the original parasite. Jacob can only summon them forth from his body when the sword is still inside of him. Their reach is also the same as that of the parasite. The sword has the same natural drawbacks as the parasite. Firstly, if it is not fed it will begin to draw on the life of the host, and it can make the host sick, tired, and constantly exhausted. If fed too much the parasite will grow too strong and force the host to continue feeding until they are either dead, unconscious, or the feeding has run its natural course and the sword has had its fill.
Sword Shard Alpha:
The sword shard that was forced upon Jacob by unknown means. Jacob's hair now remains totally black, with the white streak only appearing if he hasn't fed in some time. The shard itself adds an extra power to Jacob's repertoire in the form of Marks. This power allows Jacob to leave a tiny fragment of parasite inside a victim through touch via hand to skin. The parasite fragment finds its way to an area of the victim's skin through Jacob's touch, which can take several prolonged seconds, anywhere from 5 to 10 seconds depending on how frim the contact is. The parasite fragment then shows itself much like a black tattoo, just under the skin. There are two basic types of Marks, both of which are listed below.
Unwilling/Combat Mark: This is the weaker of the two Marks, and as the title describes, can be applied whether or not the victim is willing in its application. The Mark forces the Victim to sense Jacob's own emotions, much like the feeding bond described above with the Parasite sword. But beyond that, the Mark allows Jacob to inflict pain upon its bearer so long as they are within his range of sight. The pain can best be described as an intense burning directly on and around the area that the mark occupies, as if the skin itself is on fire. The pain itself is entirely non-lethal, and leaves no lasting effects upon the body other than possible emotional trauma. The most powerful effect is that the victim can also feel Jacob’s pain as if it is his or her own. The mark can be easily removed with any sort of white magic, or by literally digging it out through the skin. If left alone, its supernatural effects fade after a week's time.
Willing/Permanent Mark: This is the stronger of the two Marks, and as the title describes, can only be applied if the victim consents to its application. This mark is permanent, and cannot be removed by any means short of killing the bearer. Through this Mark, Jacob's emotions are tied directly to the bearer, and theirs to him. Furthermore he can cause intensive pain with a simple thought to the bearer of the mark. The bearer is subject to feeling any pain inflicted upon Jacob himself, and the link extends to the point that thoughts and words can be sent back and forth over a great distance. If Jacob dies, anyone with the willing Mark will also die with him, though this link is one way. Lastly, the person who holds the mark will feel strangely out of place and alone if they are too far away from Jacob, or have not had contact with him in several days. The feeling is similar to being homesick or entirely out of place, while being directly beside him brings out strange feelings of contentment and peace.

History Before AHS/ASA
Jacob was born into a perfectly normal middle class family. As normal as any family is anyways. Alexander and Lindsey Leventa gave Jacob a fairly normal childhood with all the little triumphs and pitfalls of everyday life. Things were never perfect, as they never are with any family, but life went on, and much of the time the Leventa family was a happy one.
It was only when Jacob was 10 years old that anything out of the ordinary happened to him. It was on a class fieldtrip, a one night camping trip into the woods with an educational little visit to an archeological dig. The visit was normal enough and mildly fascinating to most of the children, and the many piles of ordinary and insignificant rock and rubble were allowed to be freely plundered by the kids looking for a little souvenir to take back home, one they would lose within a week in all likelihood.
But Jacob found something just a little bit strange, a shiny black rock that had been thrown into the pile because it seemed to be nothing more than volcanic pumice, an all too common rock. Its surface was black, smooth and shiny, verging on the point of being reflective. It was a nice little find for any curious child.
Jake carried it with him for the entire day, taking it out at various points in the day to touch and examine its strange features. When Jacob went to sleep in his tent along with several other students, the rock was resting just like the inanimate object it was right beside his sleeping bag.
It did not take long until all of the children were asleep, and for that little rock to crack and split open, ruining its attractive ebony surface with a series of spider web cracks. Something inside, darker than the night air outside the tent drew itself out from that seemingly harmless little rock, and straight into the sleeping child beside it, moving through his skin as if it wasn’t even there.
What happened next would never be remembered by Jacob as anything more than a series of nightmares and briefly recalled glimpses. Whatever really happened was fast and deadly, and only two people out of the group managed to get even a single plaintive word out before they were silenced.
When they were found in the morning only Jacob was still alive and thus began a very unpleasant chapter in his life. For months he was bombarded with questions and accusations, a simple ten-year-old child looked at as a potential murderer. But none of the dead had any physical marks on them, as if they had all simply gone to sleep and never bothered to wake up again.
It was suggested that Jacob might have been a metahuman and that his awakening powers had somehow been responsible for the tragedy, but when he was examined he seemed perfectly normal. The Leventa family moved out of town and relocated to another area to get Jacob away from all of the stress and accusing eyes.
For a long while things were good, but that all changed when Jacob began to get sick. He was weak constantly, always tired or hungry and exhausted. The family saw many doctors and specialists but they never managed to find anything wrong with him.
As Jake grew older and lived every day with this sickness and hunger inside of him, he finally broke under the will and hunger of what resided inside of him. One night without warning or cause, he attacked his parents just as he had his classmates all those years ago. They both survived but needless to say they were now terrified of their child. Despite how close Jacob was to graduating he was sent away to a school that was known to house and teach many other "gifted" young individuals.
