Riley Anderson picks up a special book from a Bookshop and as she reads, she becomes more enveloped into the goings-on in the story. Within the story, The Nothing is trying to break through its seal and the Chronicle Emperor is wondering how he can prevent it from coming undone. So he sends his trusted comrade to spirit away two aspiring Keblade Masters into Phantasma, their hearts possessing Toy Bodies to fight off the Heartless invasion ensuing in the land. There, they are thrust into a destiny where they encounter the Foretellers of old as well as a new friend in the starry skies simply named NiGHTS and an ancient threat to space and time itself known as Yuen, the Nothing's Persona. The people they meet range from the kind and noble Eternal Empress to the glory-hungry Ende Demise. Eventually, the two Keyblade Masters, NiGHTS and whoever is playable in the Play Set discover the x-Blade Yuen weilds as well as Kingdom Hearts is made up of the Various Universes consumed by the Nothing, so they seal Yuen away just as the Chronicle Emperor had sealed the Nothing away, but the Emperor did not want to risk Yuen breaking through to Phantasia again, so he uses the dream bodies alongside a plethora of other heroes to fight off the heartless with special keyblades connected to a digital world populated with simulated entities he intends to beam across the multiverse to a realm containing a fool who seeks to recreate the x-Blade and Kingdom Hearts and thus unseal the Nothing once more with their union. Therefore, the Toy Eraqus and Xehanort could continue the fight all while the real Eraqus and Xehanort forget that particular adventure that they embarked on. Realizing that the book series is building up to something grand, she heads to the library to check out a few books from this particular franchise of Books called 'The Infinity Chronicle'.
