Who is Jack, exactly? For one thing, he is a Sneasel who wears a fedora. Jack is, through and through, seen as a menace to Yoki Yoki's society. He has committed many acts against the law, and is indeed what you'd call a "jerk". But what may seem as acts done without reason are really not; in reality, it's the work of a screwed up perspective of the world.

Jack's Past

Yes, Jack has a past. It was going to be written in novel form, but I'd rather just put forth the ideas here, just so I don't forget them. Also note that most of this was written with Jack as human in mind, but since he is a Pokemon I kind of modified it a bit.

Early Years

Jack was born in a poorly kept up neighborhood, as he was born in the times that Pokemon were able to build their own civilations and whatnot. Except, sadly for him, he is what you call an "accident child". As his parents didn't want to be seen as dishonorable wrecks, they kept him. Despite keeping him, they constantly neglected and beat him, some of which might've messed up his perspectives on what a good family relationship really is.

Due to being neglected, he was able to basically do whatever he wanted. In his solo adventures away from home, he met another Sneasel named Jonas. As Jonas was quite a bit older than he was, he took it upon himself to teach Jack on what he called the "basics"; through this, Jack learned a few details, and even started adapting to some of his mannerisms. In a test to see if Jack had the willpower to murder the ones closest to him, Jonas gave one final "life lesson": how to shoot a gun. Through trickery, he had Jack shoot at him. Although it was what one would consider to be an "accident", Jonas purposefully guilted him just before dying.

Being this one of the few times Jack has shown emotion in his life, he took his own killing badly. Not wanting to ever forget Jonas, he took his hat, and threw his body out into the ocean so nobody would find what he had done. What he didn't realize, however, was that Jonas' mannerisms stuck to him a little too well; in times where he does not have absolute control of a situation, or in times where he believes that being "Jack" would do nothing, he switches his personality to that of "Jonas". Ironically enough, this disguise involves not wearing the fedora, because he'd be outed as Jack and because when he last "saw" Jonas (aka when he got rid of the body), he was without the hat.

After Jonas' murder, Jack took it upon himself to realize that if he could murder his closest friend, why not get rid of the ones who gave life to him as well? Tired of their torments (and finally wanting to have control over their lives), Jack murdered his own parents. Realizing that staying in this part of town would be useless (and still being underaged), Jack traveled off until he reached an all-male Pokemon boarding school.

School Years

It may seem unlike Jack to be going to a facility such as this one; in fact, this was all part of what he intended to do. He knew that if he dealt with his parents in a way that wouldn't be considered to be legal, he'd have to get as far away from where he lived as possible. Hanging around would have him end up being questioned, and going to an orphanage would have him be forced to explain what happened with his parents. So, in order to be a "no questions asked" situation, he went to the boarding school that was quite far away from his original home.

While in the school, he soon realized that being educated was not all that it's cracked up to be. It was pretty obvious to him from afar that school life would not work out for him at all, but being a young Pokemon he had no other real choice. Through his years in school, he constantly skipped classes, and made a "friend", but only to cover his tracks for whenever he did feel like skipping out on the educational system. This friend was named Cecil Jacobs, and although he was what you'd consider to be a likeable Charmeleon, Jack honestly didn't like him in the least; he just acted like he liked him in order to not be kicked out of the school. By that, I mean Cecil would cover for him whenever he was skipping class, and even helped him cheat in class so his failing grades wouldn't show that he really was skipping; the teachers thought he was sick in his room studying.

When he was in his teenaged years, Jack thought that he looked old enough to be living on his own, despite not being of age to be even owning his own property. All that mattered to him was him looking old enough to do so. After all, he knew he couldn't stand to live in this boarding school for any longer. While trying to sneak out one night, Cecil caught him in the middle of it; threatening to tell unless he was able to come along, Jack was forced to take Cecil along with him.

Escaping to the docks, Jack thought of a plan to get out: sneak onto a boat. It could lead to anywhere, but at the time he didn't care. Thinking of Cecil as an annoyance, and wanting to finally rid of him as he had no real need for him any longer, Jack told Cecil to "come with him to the ship". As it was the middle of the night, they both quietly snuck toward a ship. At least, they were. Jack then knocked Cecil out, choked him, and threw his body into the water. No longer with the dead weight, he snuck onto a ship, and stayed in the cargo hold until it stopped off at a small town by the water.

Teenaged/First Town Years
