Bungie Game Studios
From Wikislippy
Bungie Studios was started in 1991 under the name Bungie Software Products Corporation in Chicago, Illinois. It was started by two students at the University of Chicago, Alex Seropian and Jason Jones. Although they focused primarily on the Macintosh platform, they were eventually bought out by Microsoft. This forced them into making the Halo Series for the Xbox. They were happy with the oppurtunity, but eventually wanted to own themselves again.
In 2007 they split form Microsoft and became Bungie LLC. They are still working on Halo games, such as Halo 3 DLC maps and Halo 3:ODST.
[edit] Early History/Work
The earliest memorable work by Bungie was Marathon. This was an addictive first person shooter that featured online multiplayer using the old 56k dial up modems built in to their computers. Then they worked on a few other games until they started work on a shooter which was eventually called Halo. This started as a third person shooter, and then turned into a first person shooter. It was originally for the Macintosh computers.
