Dan Akroyd storing money on his lawn was a freshman era theory by Terry and Gavin in an attempt to explain why the comedian Dan Akyroyd was still taking work despite what was assumed to be a substantial fortune from his popularity in the 1980s. This theory was also used to explain his desperate look.
The theory was that Dan Akyroyd had a unique method of storing his money by simply placing it on his front lawn in an enormous pile. Here the money would sit unguarded by any means until someone picked it up or the wind simply blew it away. This would frustrate Dan Akyroyd and to continue to live he would be forced to take more work.
