Description

Known Aliases: Dr. Winthrop, The Doctor, Winthrop

Dr. Winthrop is a genius scientist, skilled in all sorts of chemisty, neuroscience, and psychiatry. Although the Organization attempt to stop him, his intentions are pure, although unorthodox. He does not mind causing ill effects with his drugs, as long as it improves humanity and human happiness.

Powers

Dr. Winthrop is a normal human being, although one with a great scientific mind. He knows, in great detail, nearly everything the brain does, the mind does, chemicals do, and also how all of these interact. Every branch of study in the psychologic fields, neurological fields, and chemical fields are at his command. He could have been a brilliant doctor who saved many lives, but instead he chose a darker path...

Origin

Dr. Winthrop was born to a small family on the outskirts of Chicago. His family didn't have much money growing up, but they got by. When he was a teenager though, his best friend, Jonathan, became addicted to drugs, often offering them to young Winthrop. Winthrop declined. While Winthrop was majoring in genetics at college, Jonathan died of a heroine overdose. Winthrop dropped out of school, too depressed to continue. Eventually he came to a decision: He would learn everything he could about medical science, in order to prevent more deaths of that sort. He returned back to school, and dual-majored in both chemistry and neuroscience, before moving on, eventually getting over five doctorates, all in related fields. His early research work was astounding, on the medical community saw great promise in him. Unfortunately though, Winthrop did not feel what he was doing was helping the cause he was fighting for. He instead turned to darker means, trying the best to do whatever he could to stop human unhappiness, however he had to.

Reason for the name

I wanted a name that could be doctorly, yet still acknowledge that while Winthrop was a villain, he was not such because of ill-intentions. I found that Winthrop meant friendly, and went with that.
