[edit] Personality
[edit] Appearance
Orfian's name may sound like he's some portly, weak old man but that is nothing like him. Orfian is tall and pretty lean for having to carry all that armor around. There is a reason that people call him "The Green Rider." He wears dark green armor with the symbol of Ainor right onto his breastplate to show the loyalty he has for his country. He has a dark kelly green colored helmet that shows no part of his face except his eyes. He makes sure that his enemy combatants see his eyes because he likes to use them as an intimidating tool that pierces their courage. But he only wears his helmet when he's battling. If your just talking to him, there's a good chance he won't be wearing his helmet. He has dirty blonde hair that is never straight (due to helmet hair) and is medium length. It barely reaches down to his eyebrows. He keeps his Blade and his Axe crossed like an X against his back. Then his lance goes right down the middle splitting the X in half vertically. His horse wears a green saddle and head covering.
[edit] Biography
Orfian was born into controversy. His Mom and Dad were both (and still are) great war heroes. But unfortunately they were war heroes form different countries. His dad a war hero in Ainor. His mom a war hero in Vadal. They met 30 years ago on the Eastern border of Ainor during a battle. They hit it off immediately. At least that's what his dad thought. 6 years later Orfian was born. 5 years after that his mother killed his father in a plot that she had been planning for 11 years. Orfian being only 5 had to go back with his mother to Vadal for another 5 years. During that whole time his mother neglected him and abused him.
One day, when Orfian was 10, someone broke into their house and kidnapped him. The kidnapper brought him back to Ainor. When they got back to Ainor, the kidnapper revealed itself as Orfian's childhood friend Rephnais who was 7 years older than Orfian. Rephnais allowed Orfian to live with him because he knew what Orfian's mother was doing to him. Rephnais was the first person to teach him how to use a lance, sword, and axe basically. Rephnais died when he got called into battle against Lequall when Orfian was 16. For a year Orfian lived in solitude in deep depression. Then he realized he should do something to revenge his father and Rephnais. He joined the military at age 17.
He used the skills he learned from Rephnais and improved greatly on them. His military commander had said he was the fastest learner he had ever seen. After only 3 years, he had the best swordsmanship of anyone in his group. His skills with a lance or axe weren't to bad either. He was in the top 5 in lances and axes. When he was 20, they army gave him his horse, and in rememberance of his father, he named it Dytian.
When he was 21, he was formally knighted by the king. He swore on his life that he would never betray the beauteous country of Ainor. he also vowed to someday take revenge on his unforgiving mother. His first battle came 6 months later. His new commander had overheard Orfian saying that the tactics of the whole battle strategy was wrong. So the commander asked him what he thought they should do for this battle. Orfian had deciphered the strategy of the enemy army. He saw that they liked to make suicide rushes that were quickly depleting the Ainori troops. So Orfian told the commander to get everyone ready for battle because the suicidal rushes were very predictable. Because they were ready for the next charge, they managed to kill all the enemy soldiers and lose none of their own soldiers. Because of this the commander promoted him. A year later he got promoted all the way to Lieutenant of the Ainori army.
He has become the youngest lieutenant in the history of Ainor. Nobody has ever doubted his worth.
