Appearance
Valentine, above all other things, looks like a friendly, confident guy. He's almost always smiling slightly in a way that let's you know everything's okay with him. His eyes are blue and his hair is fair and always rather tousled. With a nearly perfect ovular face, there is nothing harsh about his appearance. Most of Valentine's features are small and smooth for a man's and, while it is not terribly common anymore, he used to be mistaken rather frequently for a girl before he hit puberty. At an average height and weight, 5'7" and 149 lbs, the student has a small, yet well-toned frame.
History
From the beginning Valentine was a failure. An accident, to be more precise. Ironically, he was born on Valentine's day and was anything but a signifier of his parents' love. Both loved him, or tried to, but it was difficult when there was so much contempt between the two of them. To this day, Valentine doesn't understand why they got married in the first place. Still, their feelings din't keep the boy from trying to live up to his name.
...his constant pestering and sickeningly sweet disposition eventually, coupled with his father's sarcastic tongue, drove his mother out of the house. A woman can only take living in "The Parent Trap" for so long before she wants to strangle her own offspring. His mother's disappearance dampened the boy's spirits, but true to form he bounced back. Now, he was obsessed with finding his father a new wife, a true love! It didn't turn out well. He was told that not only were Valentine's efforts unappreciated, they were shameful. He was called a nancy, a fag, worthless... But Valentine swore he wasn't any of these things! He just had a few personality quirks that people weren't used to running into that led them to believe those things. Sometimes, people went so far as to consider him a sociopath. But, no, he was just born on Valentine's Day.
Disheartened again, Valentine now seeks to prove himself as a worthy son. He's taken his father's money (gained from stocks or computers or... something) and bought himself a nice, cushy rank at Second Heaven. With a decent diploma, Valentine's family will finally be happy! ...won't they?

At first glance, Valentine appears to be a gentle, good-natured young man. He has a kind of rumpled, effortless charm about him. Underneath it all, he is most likely the falsest person you will ever meet. He enjoys parroting people's personalities, or personalities he thinks they would get along with, back at them. He means nothing malicious by it and will confess ignorance if accused of anything, as it is an extremely forceful habit. He also has quite a little bit of ignorance to spare, being a self-described "mimbo".
The lack of closeness in his family has left Valentine unwilling to let himself get close to others. He makes friends rather easily, but at the slightest hint of things turning intimate, he balks. Most people don't pick up on this, as they find it very easy to get close to him and generally don't realize how little they know about him.
Keeping things pleasant, making other people feel happy and wanted, flirting with the unwanted to boost confidence... These things are Valentine's highest priorities. It comes from being named after a holiday.

Why Second Heaven?
They took his daddy's money and put him in the smart class 8D. With a diploma from Second Heaven, even at 20, he believes he's sure to get into a college that'll make his family so proud.
