From Sonar

Howdy!

I'm Bob Hammond, known as Techead both here, on the Cakewalk forums, and many other places as well. I work for a computing/networking consulting company (Computer Masters International, Inc.) and an Internet service provider (Logonix Corporation) in West Central Illinois.

I am married to a wonderful wife and have three children. Our family website (along with some of my technical interests is at http://www.technetos.com/. I am a hobbiest musician in my spare time. My wife and I help out a lot with worship and technology at Maple Avenue Christian Church.

I have been interested in music all of my life. I picked up trombone while in the 5th grade and played it avidly until my junior year in college when the load became too great. I still play occasionally and with the audio capabilities of P5 and SONAR I may yet find renewed interest in this favorite instrument of mine.

I am a self-taught keyboardist/pianist and dabble with a Takamine acoustic guitar as well. I have always wanted to combine music with electronics and especially computers. I had used Alesis MMT-8 and Roland and Korg gear as MIDI sequencing platforms for worship accompaniment for years. Then I started in with Cakewalk Pro-Audio 9. That was pretty cool. When SONAR 1 XL first came out I jumped on it because this was the first time I could really use the computer as a musical instrument in an open-non-proprietary way. I upgrade each version of Sonar to stay current--love the product. Cakewalk Project5 has become another favorite software tool that I use in addition to Sonar.
