The being that seems to inhabit Seremela's head, and the source of her reality shifting spells is one that Kaer loathes. Not only due to the disruption to the balance of reality, not only for the time he put [[Neptur]] and his blades to their throats, but for allowing and tempting Seremela to cast spells of immense power that in the end harm her. | The being that seems to inhabit Seremela's head, and the source of her reality shifting spells is one that Kaer loathes. Kaer has had few occasions where he worked with Arciel, so he knows little of her or of her past, however they have never been on opposing sides, or seemed to have opposing ideals. She seemed to be strictly business, something Kaer could respect. | Kaer has had few occasions where he worked with Arciel, so he knows little of her or of her past, however they have never been on opposing sides, or seemed to have opposing ideals. In part because of his extreme neutrality, this druid bothers Kaer. Protecting the balance is one thing, yet Dagnir is somewhat perplexing. Still, he has proven to be a strong comrade in trying times. | In part because of his extreme neutrality, this druid bothers Kaer. Dante's an enigma for Kaer. While he can't agree with Dante on many issues, he holds some respect for a man who lives freely, yet still does what seems to be the right thing. This doesn't mean Kaer can stop keeping an often worried eye on Dante, however. | Dante's an enigma for Kaer. Alignment: Lawful Good

Height: 6'2"
Weight: 177 lbs without armor, 205 lbs with armor and shield.
Build: Muscular, but not ridiculously so.
Hair: Gray, and medium short length.
Eyes: Steel blue-grayish colour.
Appearance: Relatively tall man. Putting aside the gray hair he has a young face. Also wearing a full suit of armor, complete with a shield carried on his back. Sword at his side, and you almost have a cliché knight.
Personality: Justice loving, spell casting, sword using mageknight. He developed an overly strong sense of justice, and will fight for what he believes in, his own justice. He tries to avoid killing when ever possible. For some reason, he has a bad habit to speak in the most proper way possible, and also refers to most everyone as "Sir" or "Madam"
Equipment
(Needs an overhaul next!)
Mythril Full-Plate - Strong armor used for defending. It also is light [comfy] and easier to cast in [wear]. Includes Gauntlets.
Mythril Light Steel Shield - A light shield that virtually has no hindrance to casting.
Enchanted Longsword - An important sword Kaer has used for years. Time tested to be able to aid his attacking or defending. It's made of Ademantium. The sword holds a bit of history, as it was originally a sword crafted by Kaer's father, and given to Kaer's mother many, many years ago. She used the sword for many years before all but retiring from Paladin duties, and passing the blade onto Kaer.
Misc Supplies
Rope: Used for grapple-hooking as well as constricting the movement of people to be brought to justice.
Grapple hook: Used in conjunction with rope for climbing, as we all know climbing and jumping in armor is hard enough.
Masterwork Artisan tools: Used for crafting, and crafting well.
Background
(Needs an overhaul next!)
- Earlier Years
Kaer was born in a relatively medium sized city in North Eastern Riscana called Lajourin. He was born into the family of a prominent blacksmith, and an esteemed paladin, Alex and Sara Galnic (Parents’ professions and names given respectively). While having his father teach him to craft, Kaer picked up proficiency with multiple weapons and armor. Although he was partially expected to follow in his mother’s footsteps and rise among the rants of paladins, Kaer happened to find a random (convenient!) Library of Lucion in town one day. After talking to a few wizards, at around the age of 11 Kaer began learning the arcane arts. Where you think a Paladin of Dizal might not fully agree with her son following Lucion, however Sara saw no problem, as even at this age Kaer had already developed a strong sense of justice, which would only grow into something that would make Sara proud.
After studying in the Library of Lucion for about three years, at age 14 Kaer had hit a slump in his learning. As the years went by, he only further became a better smith, he knew how to use most weapons (favoring a simple longsword best), and a good grasp on the Arcane. He was beginning to learn the skills of using arcane magic to empower his weapon, but had hit a slump. This was not to last for too long, though. One day, while his mother was out and Kaer was at home reading, and a man came complaining of a cliché circumstance in the forest with wild animals attacking people, and in this case, there was also a Bugbear mugging people, and actually held a family member of this man hostage, and was more than likely going to kill / eat / whatever them. Not allowing this injustice to stand, Kaer decided his mother would forgive him for using her sword, and went off to fight this Bugbear.
- Spellsword and the Enforcers
Initially being ambushed by the Bugbear, Kaer ended up defeating it, citing that his “burning passion for justice alone was strong enough to defeat this enemy.” Regardless of justification, after defeating this Bugbear while keeping true to his mother’s challenge, Kaer made the connection he needed, and after reading the book “The Art of Spellswording -- Casting While Wearing a Lead Sheet” began to learn in the way of the Spellsword. Both parents were not disappointed at all, as not only was Kaer making using of his mother’s sword (He was essentially given the sword after his defeating of the Bugbear), which hadn’t been wielded too much for a few years, but also his father’s craft of steel, as well as Kaer’s own talent for the arcane. Over the next few years, Kaer studied this art using the book as his guide, while still continuing to advance in his talent with the sword, as well as his longtime crafting skill. He studied this way until acquiring the equipment he uses now, which were initially crafted by his father, before getting their magical enhancements. With his mother’s sword in hand, and equipped with the shield and armor crafted specifically for him by his father, at age 15 Kaer left his home town of Lajourin to go in search of a group that he had heard of from people at the Library of Lucion -- The Full Moon Enforcers.
To find the Full Moon Enforcers, Kaer began traveling around, hopping from Library to Library, seeking information. After a few months of search, luck would have it Kaer would be at the right place at the right time to run into a group of Full Moon Enforcers, one of them present being Geon. After talking to Geon for a short while, Kaer went to travel with the Full Moon Enforcers, to ultimately join their fight against unreality. However, besides just battling unreality, Kaer never would forget his roots, and would keep on fighting for what his parents brought him up to see was just.
Since joining, Kaer has shifted his focus from the art of Spellsword to improving his magical talent proper, by learning the ways of the Eldritch knight. It’s in his plans to finish becoming a better all-around wizard before he returns to finishing off his complete mastery of the Spellsword.
Relations
NPCs
Sara Galnic - "I will find and follow my own justice, mother."
Kaer’s mother and a renowned Paladin of Dizal from the city of Lajourin. For much of her life she served as a defender of the area, following her own devout code of righteousness. She is the previous owner of the blade Kaer wields to this day, having passed it unto him upon taking a vow of pacifism when she let the younger generation take over her old charge.
Alex Galnic - "With what you have taught me, no blade I create will ever dull!"
Kaer’s father and also a famous blacksmith in the region of the Leyandra/Riscana boarder region. The trade of forging weapons and armor has been passed on throughout those who carry the Galnic name for generations Kaer being no exception. As per part of the trade, he dabbed into the basics of the Arcane to learn the concepts of Magic Arms and Armor, which only makes his works quite desired.
Geon - "What are the latest orders, Sir... and why have you animated that table set?"
A member of the Full Moon Enforcers, Geon is Kaer's superior and looked up to as a mentor. Kaer spent time as Geon's apprentice during his early years with the organization, finely tuning his arcane arts under Geon's eye, despite Kaer's own personal atrocious luck.
Mulie - "A friendly greeting is quite fine!"
A familiar of Aknier’s who, for some strange reason Kaer has developed a fondness for. Perhaps it is the fact she is a friendly flying puppet, or maybe because of the time she carried a Freedom of Movement spell to keep him from sinking underwater. But it is most likely because of the frequent “High fives” that she and Kaer exchange.
Xavier - "You who manipulate what is real. You who possess the power of the gods... what are you!?"
The being that seems to inhabit Seremela's head, and the source of her reality shifting spells is one that Kaer loathes. Not only due to the disruption to the balance of reality, not only for the time he put Neptur and his blades to their throats, but for allowing and tempting Seremela to cast spells of immense power that in the end harm her.
Arciel - "Even if you come off as cold, madam, you have an air of professionalism many can dream to obtain."
Kaer has had few occasions where he worked with Arciel, so he knows little of her or of her past, however they have never been on opposing sides, or seemed to have opposing ideals. She seemed to be strictly business, something Kaer could respect.
PCs (Overhaul'd on 12/15)
Aknier - "Remember, Sir Aknier, the moon has two sides."
Kaer developed a bond of friendship with the young man, both through somewhat similar ideals, but also through respect at Aknier's mastery of the Divine and Arcane.
Dagnir - "No side is still a side? I shall learn to respect that."
In part because of his extreme neutrality, this druid bothers Kaer. Protecting the balance is one thing, yet Dagnir is somewhat perplexing. Still, he has proven to be a strong comrade in trying times.
Dante - "What? Sir Dante? Please, don'- ...Argh, nevermind."
Dante's an enigma for Kaer. While he can't agree with Dante on many issues, he holds some respect for a man who lives freely, yet still does what seems to be the right thing. This doesn't mean Kaer can stop keeping an often worried eye on Dante, however.
Locke - "A pint does not sound like a bad idea, Sir Locke."
How can anyone truly dislike the drinking Cleric? Although sometimes seeming careless, Kaer cannot fault him.
Mikhal - "I will try not to call you sir, even though you more than deserve the title."
An interesting fellow, especially due to the half-dragon heritage. Kaer sees Mikhal in a generally good light. Although Mikhal seems to follow his own agenda as he pleases, he does not act unjust while he does his thing.
Seremela - "I cannot force you to no longer alter reality, yet know this -- I will do all that I can to protect you."
First, Kaer thought she was okay, then he was concerned about a spell she cast that was clearly unreal, then the whole thing with Xavier, and finally, the assignment to guard her. Despite the constant flip-flops, Kaer has grown rather fond of the elven princess since his charge to protect her. However he sometimes feels that protecting her from herself and Xavier is the hardest task of all.
Wren - "Hello? Madam, are you there? You seem to be... standing exactly as I am... How strange."
Regardless of how spacey Wren is, she has proven to be a competent in a fight, and all around good person. With those two qualities attributed to her, the enforcer can not fault her.
Retired PCs
Aelis - May you and your woodland companions fair well, madam."
Kaer sees her as an odd one, this one. She seemed to be the most normal of the group, for some reason. Sadly, the image was never gloriously shattered, however Kaer hopes the ranger will be able to rebuild her home city.
Mentat - "...Such a strange one, you were."
Having a limited understanding for the Psionic arts, Kaer was unable to learn much from Mentat. After multiple lapses in judgment the Psion made, Kaer had growing disliking for the man, although he would not show it towards one assigned to travel with them. As odd as he was, his final departure was equally unusual.
Present Day
Kaer still travels with the group, and still keeps his task to protect Seremela. He also has not forgotten being tripped over that one time...
