Father of Gillichu Chandler and Nimuë Chandler, husband of Rhianwen Chandler (his third cousin once removed), Owen Chandler is one of the rarer members of the Chandler family in that he prefers to focus on inventing new things rather than accumulate wealth through careful corporate takeovers. In fact, Owen spent his youth inventing the products that his rather impressive company sells today, mainly the Perpetual Lighting Lantern (the closest magic has ever gotten to mimicking Muggle electric lights) and other illuminating products. He and his wife also maintain social and business connections with several important families, both magical and Muggle (though one could argue that Rhianwen does most of this maintaining and Owen's content to hide away with his experiments).
