- HMWT Amwell Nature Reserve: Bittern in reeds around lake to north of Water Rail hide at 15.30. Roosted in front of the Water Rail hide at 17.05. (Tim Hill)
- Wormwood Scrubs: The adult winter Mediterranean Gull still present on the football pitches, plus 3 Stonechat & c3 Meadow Pipit. (David Lindo).
- Tower Hamlets Cemetery: Male Firecrest (presumed wintering bird) still present, also male & female Peregrines in close company, male & female Sparrowhawks, 5+ Long-tailed Tits. Alan Hobson reported 2 Firecrest present earlier in January and one in December 2007, so presume 1/2 wintering birds (Bob Watts).

- Dagenham Chase LNR: 61 species recorded in 4hrs 10mins. Highlights include 1 Male Common Pheasant, 1 Kingfisher, 1 Grey Wagtail,Pair of Stonechat, 6+ Stock Dove, several Rook, good numbers of wild duck and winter thrushes but no counts, NO Sparrowhawk ! ( Vince Halley-Frame ).

- Wormwood Scrubs: Probable Little Bunting seen briefly in strong sunlight in the extreme SW corner of the the site adjacent to Braybrook Street and Old Oak Common Lane at 9am. Small size immediately apparent but crucially, facial pattern not clearly discerned due to the light. It flew a short distance away but could not be refound. Could still be in with the roving finch flocks in the area.(David Lindo, Roy Nuttall & Kim Dixon). No further sign by 10:59hrs (RBA). Little Bunting briefly sighted at 2.30pm near original spot (David Lindo).
