Editing Quackenbush, J.W.

In [[1902]], Jacob W. Quackenbush built the [[Quackenbush Building]] in [[Eugene]] for his hardware store. Around [[1903]], a filbert orchard was planted on [[High Banks Road (Springfield)|High Banks Road]] by [[Quackenbush, J.W.|Jacob]] (Duerr 1980:10).

Astronomy in this community began early in the 20th century, when a group of businessmen headed by J.W. Quackenbush purchased a telescope and built an observatory on [[Skinner Butte]].
