A temporal accident is a term for a time- or dimension-traveler that is duplicated when the timeline splits dramatically. This process generally leaves the "leftover" person in the new dimension with nowhere else to go, as their home is occupied by their counterpart and, if they had a home in this dimension's future, the same thing occurs.

Temporal accidents are viewed by many to be hazardous to the fabric of space-time, as they have no "dimension" from which they technically originate (this can be viewed by an aura code scan, which will show a two-digit code). Many dimensions and organizations have policies to "delete" these people; Kiki Reikaira barely escaped such an attack from her former employers and isn't sure what suddenly stopped it. Additionally, taking in the clause in the rules of the magical world that interdimensional relationships are banned if the person has a counterpart in one's own dimension, temporal accidents would theoretically be forced into solitude, or at least chastity, if exposed because they technically have no dimension.
