Wild Shadow Cat Clan, to put it simply, 'the clan'.
A group of anthromorphic felines living wihin a small village in Halloween Town, which purportedly is where Xianthe's Somebody, Ianthe, grew up. They are generally characterized by having dark fur and an ability to use shadows to create illusions, though arguably, they are more noted for being con artists and thieves. Highly xenophobic and catlike in general, the Kanu, a term for individual members of the clan, have a tendency to be extremely distrusting of others, as well as self-centered, viewed as being annoying and in the cases of younger members, 'bratty' to any whom may have the rare chance of encountering a Kanu outside of business relations. Of course, having been brought up in this mindset since as long as anyone can remember, the Kanu see nothing wrong with this behavior, viewing others as being the odd ones.
The clan ages and measures time at a different pace than humans, although they age considerably slower than actual felines; it is estimated that by the time a human would reach their preteen stage, a Kanu is close to adulthood. This of course is not always true, as some members age slower or faster than the norm, though to completely stop aging early, like Ianthe supposedly had done, is rare, and, if anything, considered a burden on normal activities, such as hunting.
There is no set leader to the clan- younger members take orders and seek advice from the elders, whom, as the term implies, are the oldest members of the clan. Of course, just like humans, younger Kanu can be rather rebellious and ignorant, and have a habit of going against orders. This led to the disappearance of a large portion of the younger population over twenty years ago, when the Heartless first appeared in Halloween Town, and the clan has yet to entirely recover from this.
Aside from their skills in illusions and manipulation, Kanu can shift into a feral feline form. Of course, only full-blooded Kanu are capable of doing this, and thus, the rare half-blood or, in this case, Xianthe, are not capable of such a thing, which is considered to be a major disadvantage in battle.
